Chapter 88 - 88

"As expected, Gold Paradise is much stronger than the defending team. The casualty when they were sieging down the wall does not even reach a hundred. We hoped for a good fight, but it looks like this would be a massacre…"

"The Rankers for both guild have finally begun to face off. It is unexpected that the leader of Gold Paradise is absent today. However, according to our information Filan Soja is the only one with a rank that is higher compared to the any Rankers of Gold Paradise. The rest won't be able to put up a fight…"

"What?! The mysterious player of BraveHearts that could change the tide of the battle has just betrayed his Guild Leader. Are you seeing this?!?! Is he one of the spies of Gold Paradise?"

I was watching the replay of the livestream while I was waiting for the rest in game. There was still a bit of time left before the scheduled meeting time, so I tried to distract myself with the little ways I can find. We are still in Aruna and it is very early in the morning that no residents besides guards are roaming on the streets.

Doing my equipment maintenance is out of question since I have already done it a while ago. Fortunately, Aria was the latest person to log in.

"Can you believe it, Cherry?! I barely got any screen time on the livestream!"

Such a loud voice for a quiet time of the day. She must be talking about how almost all camera angles during the climax was on us and Nameless. Well, Aria and Filan Soja have some bits here and there, but the way they talk to themselves made me want to change the channel if I have a remote.

"Are you all ready for the next expedition?"

"That's the reason why I went in so early. See you in a bit."

She left as fast as she came. As soon that I lost track of her, another person appeared in thin air. This time it was our Guild Leader.

"You're early, Cherry Winter. Are you the only one yet?"

"No, Aria went to the blacksmith."

"That's good thing to hear. I never thought she is such a hard worker at first."

"I have been friends with her for years and I have the same opinion myself. But I guess she changed because a big opportunity to help her family came through your guild. So I bet she is thankful for you."

"I don't see myself deserving of that gratitude. You girls joined the guild randomly, and you simply produce great results that deserves for a great return."

"Whatever you say, Guild Leader…"

The rooster's crow filled the town's morning as none of us talked anymore. I will probably think that this is an awkward silence between us like before, but I know that he is the type to only speak when it matters the most. Although that silence did not last long because Yogurt along with Legionnaire simultaneously logged in.

"Good morning."

"Hmm."

A simple greeting and both of them went the same direction as Aria went. ChickB and Michelle checked in the last as both just barely met the scheduled time. We only start preparing to leave after Michelle got her maintenance done which delayed us a bit.

"Kept talking with your boyfriend last night?"

"I said…"

Aria did not let this chance slipped by and went to tease her for this. After a while, Our Guild Leader made an announcement in the guild chat that they are to do what they need to do as a guild member. Only when we made sure we double checked all thing we need to bring did we start to move out.

The farthest that we have been two is not here in the town of Aruna instead, we were heading back to Larsa. Supposedly, that town that we captured should be the last town we will ever see before reaching the capital.

Seeing the end of our long journey is coming to an end, yet somehow I cannot feel happy by it. Mostly because it takes eight hours to travel between Aruna and Larsa alone. Just imagining the rest of the journey is making me nauseate.

There were actually a lot of players tried to stop playing New World because of the long duration travel that keeps getting longer and longer as players increase their levels. However, they still end up playing because it is New World.

All monsters we met during the way did not pose any problem to our group. Even one unlucky Lv. 45 Boss did not last long when the seven of us were in a group together.

*Yawn*

"What's wrong Brother Legionnaire? Wasn't able to sleep well last night."

"It's already night-time in his side, so I guess its natural for him to be sleepy… Now that I think about it, you're already a night owl since your accompanying us during our normal day."

"Yeah~ We're lucky that ETHER decides to have GMT as their standard time."

"In an hour, we would be reaching Larsa. We'll take a short break there."

"Yes, Guild Leader."

Like he said, an hour later, we saw bunch of newly refurbished houses of Larsa. It has been a week since we had this territory, but the refurbishment just finished yesterday. All because the workers that came from Twilight City are a tad bit far away.

I logged out and took a quick meal outside before logging back again. The others did the same, so our journey did not really come to a long halt.

From here, the environment we will be walking through will all be completely new. The monsters we will be meeting are all higher levelled compared to us and that includes our Guild Leader.

Monsters are the main reasons why it takes ages for players across the whole New World to see a glimpse of the capital. Like the dragon type species in front of us, barely anything we fight at this point is easy.

[Dracona Lv. 48]

The black drakes were breathing cold air as they slowly approach us. They have wings yet it was not in used. Our party took this advantage and immediately threw all crowd control skills we have before they even attempt to take off to the sky. It starts with Legionnaire taunting skill which made sure all five Dracona will not be able to escape.

"Move to the side a little bit, Legionnaire."

-1895

Michelle brought down her greatsword on the flesh of one of the drakes.

"Damn, their skins are thick. My [Wrath Strike] dealt 50% less than the usual."

She should be talking about her highest single target damage skill. Although she has the lowest level among the group, so she may not deal the most damage in the first place even though she uses greatsword.

Guild Leader did not mind her comments and just when for the kill. Along with Aria and Yogurt who supported him at his back, the injured drake did not last long.

ChickB and I automatically went for the next target after seeing that the three of them finished one. The rest of the drakes who were still on the hands of Legionnaire followed shortly when we got none on our hands.

The fight may come quick and might look like easy, but the tax on my mind for making sure nothing goes wrong was more than I asked for. My teammates seem to think the same since after the fight, they sighed in relief.

"We're going to fight like this for the rest of the journey—It makes me tired just by thinking about it."

"We'll just push through. Time is not on our side. Just bare for it for the next few days."

"Yes, Guild Leader."

We said that simultaneously, but it was really tiring. The following hours were a hellish experience which I have not felt for a long time. We had barely ant time to talk within ourselves that some of us were basically a walking zombie.

Guild Leader saw this and thankfully, gave the permission to continue tomorrow. Little did we know, it would be more difficult tomorrow.
