Chapter 85 - 85

Now that our battle is officially finished, all we need to do now is to organize Aruna Town to be back to its normal activity once again. Our Guild Leader finally came to message us that he will be coming here later to talk about what our performance was like during the Territorial War. He said that he was still in Larsawhich means it will take at least two hours for him to reach our location.

We gave permission to our members to log-out and rest if they wanted to, and so more than half of the player population were gone. Territorial Wars are stressful in one way or another that is why I cannot blame them for leaving early. I am also a bit tired although I still have my responsibility as a part of the Officers to part in.

Currently, it was only five of us gathered here. It was unfortunate for Yogurt to have died and respawned back to Larsa Town because this game was ruthless when it came to traversing the world of Astrea.

One of the biggest problem of New World right now is the long distance between each location for farming experience or discovering new places. Guild Territories have somewhat subsided this problem that is why people are dying to join guilds which has a lot of territories situated far apart from each other. However, as convenient as it sounds, it does not solve the root of the problem.

It still takes hours to move from one place to another, just like how Richest Asian and Yogurt will be doing to meet with us.

"I wanted to talk about the unknown enemy we just faced earlier, but it's better if we rest first. We got some time to waste around. I guess it won't matter if you guys log out for a bit, just make sure you're back after an hour."

"I'll do that since I need to text someone outside."

"You're boyfriend, Michi?"

"I said he's not my boyfriend!"

"How about you, Brother Rooster and Miss Cherry Winter?"

Legionnaire knows that it is best to ignore those two while they were having a small fight among themselves. ChickB said that he will also be logging out for a while, so that leaves me, Aria, and Legionnaire.

I guess this is a good opportunity to look back how I progress so far. Feels like it has been forever ever since our guild has began climbing through the ranks. First obvious change with me definitely is my character.

[Handmaiden's Shroud]

[Handmaiden's Handwraps]

[Sky's Strider Greaves]

[Handmaiden's Footwraps]

*Touch of a Handmaiden Set (4/5)

There are a lot of things that happened which change almost everything in my character. First thing I am really proud of is the armour set I was able gather. It may be incomplete because of my Epic Grade lower equipment, but the Handmaiden set is still a set consisting of only Rare items.

Not only that, even if I have no plan in completing the Touch of a Handmaiden set bonus, four out of five parts of it gave a decent bonus. The effect it gave is the following;

[Touch of a Handmaiden]

*Each point in Agility adds +1 attack damage (3/5)

*Each point in Agility adds +2 attack damage (4/5)

*Each point in Agility adds +4 attack damage (5/5)

Having 190 agility in total, it means this armour set alone gave me 380 bonus in my attack damage. If it is not amazing, I do not know what is. Especially when it is only a Rare Grade armour set.

Another noteworthy change in my equipment is my bow. In additional to the crazy bonus in damage my armour gives, my bow does not pale in comparison.

[Nightstalker Long Bow]

Grade: Epic

Durability: 500/500

Attack Power: 412-485

*Critical Damage +12.5% (15% during night-time)

*Attack Speed + 20% (30% during night-time)

*In every fifth normal attack, increase critical chance to 100%

"Born from the darkness, lived in the darkness. One of the finest creation of the greatest blacksmith during the Dark Age era. This bow was specifically crafted for killing demons who are more active during the night. It may not be the same bow that help humanity survive the onslaught of the demon invasion, but some hint of greatness is still present despite having the test of time."

Condition of use: Level 38 – Agility 90 – Strength 80 – Dexterity 70

If I will describe this bow in one word, it would be DEATH with capital letters. I know it might sound cringy, but there is a reason why almost everyone I shot at during the Territorial War died in one to two seconds after I aim at them.

My total damage is now on par with the top assassins but better because I have the range. When it only comes to equipment wise, I doubt anyone can beat me. However, this game is not all about the strongest items.

Just like the black-clad man that gave us trouble, I felt like I could have won that fight with my stats alone. Yet, I did not have a chance against him one on one which forced me to use my life-saving skill and my teammates' help. My loss may be because he did not care about the result of the Territorial War, but now that is just making excuses for myself.

Well back to the topic in hand-- My great haul during this past month does not stop there. I still have another Epic Grade item in my arsenal. This time it is a ring accessory equipment.

[Captain's Ring of Mastery]

Grade: Epic

*All Skill Level +1

"It is a normal looking silver ring from a outsider's standpoint, but the history of it cannot be said the same. Wore by an experienced fighter, the blood, sweat, and tears have accompanied this ring for years. The essence of hardwork have been engraved and the determination of getting better has been set. Traces of these can still be felt as one wears the ring.

Condition of use: Strength 50 – Vitality 30 - Stamina 50 – Agility 60 – Dexterity 60

Along with Luna's pendant, I now have another Epic grade accessory that fits perfectly—well it fits for anyone really. Just like Luna's pendant, I receive this ring from an NP- a friend of mine. There is a bit of complicated story in how I was able to receive this ring.

Just like what the item's name suggest, it came from Captain Emily, the leader of the archer squad back in Twilight City. How I was even to suddenly activate her quest after meeting her often for so long, I do not know. Although one thing for sure is that the hidden quest she gave me was probably the easiest across all quest in New World.

I remember very clearly what that quest was because it was unlike any other. For starters, [A Date with Emily Gill] is the name of the quest and was already suspicious from the start. Somehow, someway I triggered a flag of some sort that turn my experience in New World to one of a Dating Game for a brief moment. I had a hunch that Captain Emily was leaning that way, but I never expected I will be her target.

Thankfully, I had the option to make sure that we stayed as friends because of so many reasons. It was my first date in game or in real life, and it was very awkward after I told her what I felt. I was very sure at that point that my relationship between Emily will never be the same.

However, she is a strong woman and will always be strong. After a few days of not meeting her, our relationship was back to a friendly term. Maybe even a better than what I had before her quest. We were able to work it out even after all of that.

To top it all off, she gave me the ring telling me that it was gift for me for telling her how a Traveller and an Astrean can be on equal terms despite our standings. It was not a reward or part of the quest, but a heartful gift I received from a friend.

Looking at the silver ring at my left ring finger, I was glad that I was able to experience it even if this was a game. It might sound like we will never meet again, but all is well up to this day. I still visit and have a drink with her when I have time. Although not as much since I need to travel a far distance for a good farming spot.

While I was reminiscing by myself, I see the younger aged residents coming at me. They invited me to play with them in which I accepted. I have nothing to do anyway so why not as well bond with the residents of our Territory.

I have grown much attached to Astrea and the people before I know it..
