Chapter 78 - 78

We were on our way back to our homes when it was only two hours left to go before we should group up for war. It was amazing how much we bought during a single trip, mostly because of Michelle. Speaking of which, the gaming chair I have bought should be coming soon.

I hope they remembered everything I have said to them concerning our plans. It would be annoying if I need to rehearse again later when we are inside the game. No, I might do it because I know one person is worse than them when it comes to listening and remembering what to do.

For some reason, ChickB has the memory of a goldfish when it concerns guild matters. I do not know why Richest Asian promoted him to a 4th tier member, but it is what it is. Nevertheless, his skills have improved drastically to the point he can be a 4th tier member with only his fighting prowess to contribute.

'Now that I think about it, maybe our Guild Leader only has hope for me and Legionnaire.'

No use in getting worried before I am even connected to the ETHER Link. Thinking about it will be better at my room. I was preparing my keys when I noticed the door is actually not locked. Surprisingly, I was the last person to be come home. My Mom and Dad were already having their dinner without me.

"You're late. Have you eaten yet?"

"I'm good, Dad. I thought I told you I was going to the mall with my friends today… Maybe I only said that to Mom."

That statement seems to have hurt Dad since he stopped eating and went to check his phone if what I said is true. Mom on the other hand just smiled and went ahead clean up her recently finished plates. I kissed both of them before going back to my room while bringing some chocolate I found on the table.

"So you love Mom more than Dad, huh Lotti… I won't buy you anymore of your favourite cakes every week and I'll li-"

*Smack* "Will you shut up, Dear. I hear that our daughter has a big name in New World. We should not disturb her during this time…"

I left the scene before Mom and Dad starts arguing. Just a normal night for our family although my day does not end if I do not go online in New World. But before all of that, I greeted my fellow Gold Paradise on our group chat outside New World. It acts like a roll call for the members to let them know we are now officially gathering.

Every one of all 5000 members is currently active which means we got our complete force except our Guild Leader. Many of our members are from different part of the world, so I appreciate their commitment to be online this convenient time for us.

Last thing I check before wearing my ETHER Link were the forums. More specifically, I browse through the Events Tab where real time casting of current Territorial Wars that is happening or bound to happen. Besides the market, this might be the most visited subsite of the NWF. Mainly because this type of content it is fully supported by ETHER.

Our Territorial War against BraveHearts is the main event today. There are one to two small name guilds that also has their Territorial War scheduled almost the same time as ours, but our purple and gold dime emblem against a sword and shield emblem was definitely the one that shines the most when you first opened the page.

It does not stop their because from the guilds' basic information to our highlight videos, everything that increases the hype of the upcoming war is posted on the first page when you enter the forum. Even the first video playing on the background was Richest Asian killing a Bear-Hawk.

When I scrolled down below the webpage, there was a livestream of two commentators talking about the upcoming battle and the characteristics of each guild. They discuss our strengths, weaknesses, and the pivotal members of each side. It might seem like there was too much information being shared, but everything they were saying were only the details shared in public. They keep on telling how Richest Asian might carry his guild towards the victory in a one sided massacre, but little did they know, he will not be joining today's fight.

It does not stop there. Somehow, someway, betting among players is allowed for big events like this. Like the Market, New World gold is the currency for this betting system they put in this forum. The exchange rate between gold and b$ might have drastically lowered during this past month, but it can still be considered betting with real money. This legal betting system of Territorial Wars is one of the reasons why many are watching it even though they are not as addicted to the game as some people.

And by the way, the odds in our match are 1:1.8 with BraveHearts being the underdog team.

All of these may look like excessive for a Virtual Reality Game from an outsider's standpoint. However, this is already the main entertainment of many people, battling even real world sprots. Aria statement a while ago about her being popular if her gains the spotlight this time, is not an understatement. It is also through this fully supported competitive scene did our guild flourish in such a short amount of time.

Of course, not everyone will be able to be on this extravagant stage. Being the third strongest guild in Twilight City has definitely huge part on creating this extreme publicity between the members of Gold Paradise and BraveHearts. If it was Burning Lotus Sect and Mystic Xiye having a Territorial War, it will rival the online ratings of Olympics.

The timer on the upper right corner tells me that only an hour and thirty left before the War officially starts. It was time for me to finally log in and be with my guild mates.

"…"

"Vice Leader is here!"

A loud greeting entered my ears after I opened my eyes as Cherry Winter. The last place I logged out to is Larsa, one of the captured towns of Gold Paradise. LadyQueen Blade and Michi Mochi were already waiting for me on the side-line.

Aria's character has that boyish look to it even in this game. Dressed like one of those prince in Persia, her current armour definitely fit an attack speed damage dealer. On the other hand, Michelle is covered in heavy armour that may be mistaken for a tank player. Her appearance may sound menacing, but with her helmet covering only half of her head and her body armour which remarkably underline her body figure, it was no wonder she was popular among fans.

"With all that talk awhile ago, Cherry, you're still the latest."

"I went and bet some gold on our win today to give myself a boost in confidence."

"Right! I forgot to bet… Wait a minute."

My profit driven friend is already gesturing on her interface. The other people standing near her besides Michelle are the rest of the 4th tier.

ChickB, the youngest looking member, is carrying an emerald jade spear on his back. Compared to when he was just starting to learn how to properly handle the spear, he definitely has improved a lot. Although some of his bad habits were still there.

The woman behind him is Yogurt, the fourth person to become a 4th tier after us three. I have not really seen her face yet because she is wearing a shinobi mask 24/7, but I can tell from her voice that she is a mature woman maybe in her late twenties. She is the best assassin type character in this guild which means she will be leading the group that will be sneaking behind BraveHearts. Her group will be critical for Aria's group success when dealing the finishing blow.

'I don't know why, but Aria sees her as her rival or some sort.'

The last person but not the very least is Legionnaire. He is already giving instructions to the members who are coming to him for advice on what to do later. His large robust body is a direct image of the most ferocious warriors of the past. He is the main tank of our main group and I must say, he is a very dependable tank.

When it comes to charisma within the guild, he is only second to Richest Asian. Our Guild Leader is the type who is dependable behind the scenes, but Legionnaire gains his individuality in front of the battlefield. I cannot even come close on how he captivates people using his image.

He is a big part on how we are able to win many Territorial Wars. His presence shines the most when he leads the front liners to charge ahead. By just showing himself in the battlefield, the morale of our members reach sky high while the enemy starts to fear him. If you ask me who is the most popular person in Gold Paradise, I will immediately tell you it is him. Not me or Richest Asian.

That is currently the roster of our main group without Richest Asian. As the only range user of the group, I have learnt how to see the battlefield from afar. The direction of the game has taught me how to take advantage of every opportunity given to me and my group. Guild Leader and Captain Emily are some of the people that help me become like this.

Maybe because of it, Richest Asian assigned me to be the Vice in Command for the guild although I am hesitant of it. Legionnaire should be a better fit, but Guild Leader gave me the tile without giving me any chance to retort.

I glanced over Legionnaire who is still busy helping his fellow guild mates. With us complete, there should be no problem after the timer reaches zero.
