"Scroll down to the bottom most comment, and you'll see how people can't understand the difference between area and volume.
You can't store 3-dimensional things in a 2 dimensions. Area is 2D (m²), volume is 3D (m³)."
I wrote this comment today.
I don't know why, but something in me just cracked and I got pissed for no reason. Resulting in me writing and posting that comment.
But when I posted it, it hit me. Well, 2 things did.
I knew that people are stupid. But it never got to me how stupid they can be. Now I kind of do, and I can confidently say that you are smarter than the average person.
But it's not a thing to be proud of. If you would rate smartness/intelligence/knowledge/whatever-you-want-to-call-it from 0 to 10, then the average would be 1.7 at best. Even someone who can comprehend the things they get teached in primary school (grades 1-4) would get a score of 2.
And trust me, I'm not being arrogant or making things up. This is the sad reality of it.
The second thing that I finally understood, is the reason why schools make you learn all that unnecessary shit. The things you will never need to know in your future.
And yes most of the things you truly will never need, probably. But there is a chance that even the most useless knowledge may become useful one day.
P.S. If you are interested what I was talking about in my comment, just go to my profile and look at the paragraph comments where I commented. There's a whole discussion under the bottom most comment.
