I went to the dentist today.
What ever he did, it didn't hurt while doing it. I mean he literally just took a needle right to my gums and gave me a shot of some kind of anesthesia. Not a complete one. It just takes away pretty much all feeling from the part he's working on. It also makes lips close to the shot very puffy.
Well actually when I said 'all feeling', it's not completely true. I still felt pressure and what he did with my tooth. Also whatever he did also hurt a little. And by little I mean like noticable, but not really painful. It's like poking yourself with a needle without hurting yourself. You feel something, but you aren't quite sure if it's pain you are feeling, as it's just too weak.
Anyways once I step out of the office? I felt like I could just take a literal bite out of my lip and I wouldn't feel a thing.
In the end I didn't, it could've been dangerous if I did after all. Also a couple of hours later the anesthesia wore off and the tooth he worked on started to ache. Well it's quite normal if you think about it, but it's still a pain in the ass. Also like every single little touch intensifies the pain.
But I must give credit where credit is due. When I looked at the work he had done, I was fucking impressed. The tooth, which was like almost half gone, looked natural. Like it even had this light yellowish tint to it. Almost indistinguishable from a real teeth.
Most thing I remember about dentists are like 10+ years ago, so I'm super impressed. Why? Because I don't remember it being so good. But I don't know what's changed, maybe the technology has advanced, or the technique has gotten better (as I've only gone to the one and same dentist every time), or maybe it is just me, who's older and more comprehensive of the world?
Still... another day, another delay.
