You know what. Fuck the wait. I wanna write something more than this right now. I told you guys to wait for an actual attempt at writing something. But I'm the one who can't wait.
So far I have been thinking about which game should I use as a base. And the one I'm most drawn to is Kenshi.
Why Kenshi? Cuz it's a 'story simulator', it has some deep lore, takes place on a literal moon, and is chaotic enough so I don't have to force conflict into the story. Also I wanted to read some Kenshi fan-fic, but there isn't any. So why not make one myself?
I want to incorporate a 'system', but not the system we all know and love. I just want to get the in-game interface to somehow work in the fan-fic. Simply it can't 'upgrade' the user, nor can it make stuff appear. It's just so that the MC could see the his stats and the stats of others. That way I can give him some kind of edge, and give you, the reader, a better understanding of a persons abilities. I already have some ideas how to make it happen.
Of course, it'll be a reincarnation novel, just so that it would be easier for me to write. I believe that way it'll also have less 'plot armor'. I mean, if the reincarnated knows what's going on, I won't have to think of a random encounter that gives the MC some kind of knowledge of something. Also I'll try to make it so that the MC won't know everything, but will discover more about the world, things he didn't bother to notice in the game. I'll add some mod content into it as well.
As for lore I'm planning to spread it out through out the story, but I don't know if I should make an axillary chapter for it as well.
I can't tell you the length of a chapter, but I'll try to make it a daily release. As for this 'novel', I'll still try to keep it daily.
The following chapters I'll test out some things, so don't be surprised to see some random bullshit.
I'll explain the stats, and how they compare to real life here, but should I make an axillary chapter for it in the fan-fic as well? Also, as I'm making it into reincarnation novel, should the MC start as a newborn, or should he start in one of the starting scenarios? Should I cater it more for the mobile reader, or the PC reader?
I'll write the fan-fic on the PC, this 'novel' is being written on mobile (this chapter included). To keep track of things I'll also make an MS Excel document, which I might share (let me know).
These are currently my thoughts. Ask me if you wish to know anything. Give me some feedback, and once I start writing it, some criticism. Finally, I hope to rely on you guys to help me find mistakes.
