Chapter 53 - Cracked Sky

The matriarch of the Elmer family, Zedonia lounged on the terrace of her home in Nairobi along with her great-grandchildren after working all night preparing for her great-great-grandchildren's coming-of-age party.

Her daughter Jianet came with the phone to talk to her grandson Hakeem who was in Johannesburg. He called urgently to update her on a certain matter more than sensitive.

Hakeem was going to tell her about the dragon Bradley but she told him that as a matriarch she already knew the great news about the apparition. Her grandson, noticing her grandmother's habitual rambling, preferred to enter slowly to give her the final shock.

-Hakeem, my boy that's wonderful news! You have to send a sun catcher to place in the nest. Give me the address to send it to now! -

-Who is the lucky dragon, mom? -Jianet curious, she looked at the joy of her mother

-Jian, the black dragon impregnated her female one week after they were married! It's not a miracle! - Zedonia put the phone away to communicate the news to her family

Jianet and her children were amazed. It was the first time they had heard such a feat from such a young dragon. Zedonia followed her talk with her grandson and her smile faded into a face distorted in deep anger.

-How dare they! That bastard! - with her fist broke the marble table in half

Some of the dragon's anger leaked out causing those present to kneel to the ground in fear. Jianet was staring at her mother who angrily hung up the phone after Hakeem cut the call.

Zedonia walked to the balcony and the stone balustrade began to crack as she put her hands.

Everyone was looking at her matriarch trying to calm down.

-Mother, what did Hakeem tell you? -

-Call the leaders Morla and Gabriel. Tell them we need to set a date for a multiple combat trial against Victorius-

-Grandma!-

-Mother! What happened to ask for a trial by combat ... what the fuck did Victorius do? -

The answer chilled everyone's blood and anger surfaced. It was not even noon and the alpha leaders were already forging a meeting to apply exemplary punishment to Victorius and his family.

Aunt Maggie and Papa Rabbit contacted the alpha leaders, who, already aware of the Trudys' deranged plan, agreed to strike a deal with the hares.

Helix and Pryor when they found out sighed from the exhaustion of having to deal with lunatics. They tried not to get anyone fired, but to impose a sanction according to the stupidity of the Trudy brothers.

-I don't want to have to talk to Vic. That asshole .. It was always like that, since I was a fucking kid I had to go after him to correct him- Pryor covered her eyes

-Madame Helix, the only concern should be that my brother remains mentally stable to avoid a massacre-

-Young Fox, I get his point. The only thing I can offer for now is not to cross them between novels. Young Quito, prepare the schedules according to the need-

-Yes ma'am-

-Lady Rocket change them from the Rofan section to the short novel section. If they try to question the least, send them to me-

-Yes ma'am-

-The doors will open in ten minutes. The changes begin, before the return- Pryor gave the order and they all left.

-Trying to kill the son of a dragon, what audacity. I thought he would be happy since the boy left his house but this resentment is unheard of- Pryor could not believe the impudence of the Trudys

-And what did you expect? Maggie was so pissed off when she found out about Vic's behavior. Now I understand why Dido was looking for another dragon to impregnate her- Bernice was filing her nails in a corner

-Poor Dido, if she saw how they treated her baby, she would die again, not without first killing them all. The curse of her came, late but surely to Vic and Kurt- Helix remembered one of her best students

The trio of fairies had a problem but nothing compared to what was coming up soon.

They all went to work and the groups that each Trudy played did not even want to deal with them. When they returned from the infirmary, everyone glared at them and refused to stay near them. The rejection became very obvious even as they left for the novels.

Sonia, on the other hand, was protected by her friends and colleagues since it was preferable to take care of her than to face Brad.

The day was quiet and ended the same, except for the Trudys who confronted Helix and Pryor while trying to complain to Rocket.

Brad prepared a tea for Sonia and arranged her on the couch so that she could relax while she watched television and he continued working.

Sonia found it strange that Brad was so nervous and constantly jotted down the numbers of every file he read.

-What happens that you brought back work to the house? -

-Sony, you won't believe me, or maybe you will. There is something that is being repeated frequently in the stories and several fairies have already reported it. Some even on more than one occasion.-

-What thing? Let me see too-

.-Iridescent cracks and in others they are flashes of colors that appear and disappear instantly. They placed it as a curious fact of the day. I have already counted 137 sightings to date-

-Hey? Why didn't anyone mention it before? -

-Ah well that's because it is listed in the Curious Data section and since no one gives it relevance, I wanted to read the content and I came across this. It caught my attention and when looking for a background they took me to June 8 as a starting point-

-That date...-

-It was a week before Eda brought Russell-

More than curiosity, they began to have a bad feeling.

On Friday Brad returned to work early to continue looking for matches and some extra information to help him in the search for him. Leen noticed that Brad was very focused and went to see that he was plotting.

-How much do you do on the pc? I didn't know you had so much to do-

-Hey Eda, you have to see this. I was all night trying to figure out what the fuck is-

They began to read the documents that Brad prepared and compared them to the daily reports.

Ross returned with breakfast and saw Leen with Brad. He thought he was helping him, he greeted them and when he was about to open the door he froze upon hearing the conversation.

-An iridescent fissure in the sky in the shape of an I, appears and disappears in the blink of an eye in novels, then is seen again this time in stories but in the form of a multi-colored glow. They reported a noise similar to a ...-

-Trumpet ....- Ross threw the coffee on the ground to grab Leen by the shoulders and shake her

-Rusty what do you have? Why are you trembling-

-That plague ... those bugs ...-

-Calm down and tell us what's going on-

-It means they're coming ..- Ross's reaction made them nervous

Leen tried to calm him down without success. Ross looked at his wife and grabbed her head.

-I knew I had seen it and let it pass, it's my fault. All for being lazy, I forgot to be alert-

-Ross, those things ..-

-Brad do you have more information when was the last appearance of the door and what shape it had? -

-Yesterday, the TRex team saw it when they were dating. He was shaped like an I but when they took a picture of him they saw that it was a ł with a cut in the middle. Here you have the report-

-...-

-Well, what does it mean ..-

-There's still time. Leeny, we have to talk to Helix urgently-

-Now I prepare everything ..-

-We have to tell him the truth before they send more scouts and reach this side-

-This side? The devourers do not cross the stories...or do they? You said they only were in your world- Brad asked looking for hope

-That plague can cross wherever it wants when it feels concentrated mana. Those bastards ...oh fuck, they were using our people as bait, how blind I was-

Doom was approaching and Ross's nerves only made Leen and Brad fear for their lives.
