You walk into the destroyed sanctum where the council representatives await you. Prince Sidon and King Dorphean of the Zora, Riju and her guard, Buliara, of the Gerudo, Teba and the Elder of the Rito, and Yunobo and "Boss" of the Gorons.
"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," you say, calling them to attention. They all quiet down, waiting for you to continue. "As you may or may not have realized, Hyrule is in utter devastation and needs to be rebuilt as soon as possible."
The council members all nod in agreement as you continue. "As of right now, the leaders of each domain will be assisting me in selecting the new champions."
"For the Zora, I select Prince Sidon. King Dorphean, do you approve?" Dorphean nods his head as Sidon steps forward, smiling.
"Buliara of the Gerudo will be taking the place of Chief Riju, per her grandmother Urbosa. Riju, do you approve of this?"
"Yes, your Highness." Riju answers as Buliara bows her head and steps forward.
"For the Rito, per the Elder's request, we selected Teba. May I confirm you give him your blessing, Elder?" The Elder hoots in return as Teba shoulders his bow and steps into line with the others.
"Yunobo of the Gorons. "Boss," do you approve of this?" "Boss" huffs and waves Yunobo forward.
"And Link of the Hylianss." Link steps forward, bows, and looks up.
You continue once they are all in place. "Each of you was chosen for a specific reason…"
"Sidon, for your resourcefulness, immaculate hand-to-hand combat skills, and, like your sister, healing powers."
"Buliara, you weren't only chosen by request from Chief Urbosa, but your impeccable sword skills and power of persuasion. I trust that you will uphold this since you have quite the reputation." She nods her head and smirks, leaving you smiling.
"Teba, for your expert marksman skills and your incredible eyesight. Able to see a fly more than 100 yards away."
"Yunobo, for your wits, bravery, and willingness to run into anything."
"And Link, with your ability to harness the power from the Sword That Seals the Darkness, the Master Sword."
"Each of you were hand-selected. There were plenty of other candidates. During the years between the Calamity's rise and fall, Sheikah researchers were able to uncover and discover Sheikah Slates specific to each race and their Divine Beast. You are now the face of Hyrule. Do NOT let us down. As for the rest of the council, focus on relief efforts and sending troops to apply for the Hyrule and Royal Guard units."
"Champions, step forward." They step forward, a little hesitantly at first, but loosen up quickly. You continue speaking. "You are the new Champions of Hyrule. Your duty is to keep Hyrule safe and protect everyone. I now call on the previous Champions of Hyrule, to get their blessing." You close your eyes and channel your Tri-Force energy and think about the champions. Mipha…Urbosa…Daruk…your father…Revali…You think about each of them and their power, their skill, and your fond memories.
"Princess, it's an honor to see you again." You open your eyes to see Mipha standing in front of you, blue hue around her. You look around and see all the Champions, except for Link, staring at you in awe. You look at your hands to see them glowing blue. You stand there and think of Daruk, and then a blue orb, kind of like a Spirit Orb, comes from your body, where Daruk appears in front of you.
"Hey little princess! Good to see ya again!" He gives you a bone-crushing hug despite being a spirit, and it makes you smile. Another blue orb comes out of your body and Urbosa appears, her red hair radiating like lava despite her being a ghost.
"My my, little bird. How much you have grown." She smiles at you, proudness radiating off of her. Another orb emits from your body, flying faster than the others. Revali appears, looking proud, as always.
"Princess, being stuck on the other side is ANNOYING! My feathers were getting wrinkled." You smirk at the comment, and stare at him, dead in the eye. Urbosa pipes up. "Revali, you might want to stand down. Your ego may take a beating if her or Link manage to beat you down hard enough." She laughs, and you do too. A feeling of familiarity washes over you, and it's just as if Ganon had never come. As if they had never died and risked their lives for you.
And, after a while, you feel a sudden sensation. A very strong presence and something pulling you. A larger, brighter orb erupts from your chest and lands by the throne. Your father, King Rhoam Bosphormus Hyrule, stands there, looking down at you all. Even in death, his presence is still intimidating.
He looks at you. The only thing he says is, "Zelda," and nods at you. The others bow, but you keep staring at him, without hesitation. "Father, you are supposed to be down here, not there," you say through gritted teeth. He looks at you, amused, and says, "Hmph. Very well, then," and floats down to your level.
You address the council and the Champions. "Now that we have everyone, it is time for the former Champions to approve of the new ones who will take their place. Do you, former Champions, approve of the new ones?"
"I'd prefer that I were still alive and that Mipha were too, but that can't be helped, so I suppose it will suffice," Revali comments. "Oh, put a cork in it. We all know that they will do well in our place," Urbosa remarks.
"Well, do you, or do you not?" You ask again, growing impatient. They all nod in agreement. "Good. Now, I will harness your power and give it to your successors." You use your Tri-Force, yet again, and you feel their powers going into the new Champions.
Sidon looks at his sister, and sees something glowing, like your Tri-Force powers, emit from her and go into him. He looks at his palms, at the glow, ablaze with light, as he acknowledges his newfound power.
Next, Revali looks at Teba, his old friend. "Well, Teba, you don't look to be aging well." He smiles, and activates Revali's Gale, giving it to Teba. Teba flaps his wings and an up-draft is created, carrying him upwards.
Buliara snaps her fingers, and a spark of lightning comes from her. Urbosa stands behind her with Riju, smiling at their new champion.
Yunobo cowers in fear as the lightning strikes, and Daruk's Protection comes on, stronger than ever, combined with his and Daruk's.
You address everyone. "Now, that is all I needed to discuss. Does anyone have anything else to have?"
"I do."
You all turn to look "Boss." "You all say that Princess Zelda is fit to rule, yet look at her. She can barely harness her powers, and she looks to have no interest at all in succeeding the crown." The council erupts into chaos.
Link grabs you by the hand, and tugs a little, hinting that you should probably leave. As you step outside, you sigh, and lean your head on his shoulder. All you can say is, "What are we going to do?"
The Hylian guard captain steps forward, addressing you. "Your Highness, your knight actually has a….surprise for you. If you'll follow me, please." The captain starts walking, and you look behind you at Link, who has this look in his eye and is smiling. You take this as a good sign, and follow the captain, who leads you to your room, which was cleaned up and had two beds now, instead of one. "Link suggested putting a second bed here, so he can make sure your safe at all times." You turn to look at Link and smile, and he looks down, shy again.
"Oh, that's not all, Your Highness. Please, follow me." You follow him down the outside steps of your room, wondering what else they got you, thinking that the room is already too much. You step outside, and see Satori, the "Lord of the Mountain." He stands there patiently, his mystical hooves creating little puffs of sparkles as he moves. He sees you and all eight of his eyes blink, and he makes a strange noise, almost as if he's happy to see you. You run down the steps and pet him, where you find out that his mane is very soft even though he can disappear.
You look behind you and see Link, a smile tugging at his lips, when he's never shown emotion before. "This is beyond incredible." You say.
"Well, if you want, you could take a horse ride." The Hylian guard captain answers.
"I could? But what about Link? I doubt Epona can keep up with Satori."
"Epona is the fastest horse here and the only horse of her kind. I doubt she'll have any trouble."
"Whatever you say, but don't get mad at me if she eats Satori's dust." You smile and hop on Satori, side-saddle, of course, for who wants to see their future queen acting so improper?
Link hops on Epona, and you ride out of the castle grounds, eager to see the repairs being done to Hyrule.
