Chereads / Arthur / Chapter 33 - Ntoqua I

Chapter 33 - Ntoqua I

Standing on a hill, Arthur, along with the member of the Asante Tribe, were looking down on a valley between two hills.

Across from them on the opposing hill was another group of people, who likewise, were looking down on the valley.

Down in the valley, both groups watched on as one man stood before twenty-five hundred and one men.

'This entire time, I thought that this was going to be a one-on-one duel, this….' Thought Arthur as he watched Dinga stand alone before Kante and his troops.

While Arthur thought this, a feminine but slightly monotonous voice reached him and everyone in the surroundings. Interestingly the voice was somehow heard both physically and mentally.

[Initiation Ntoqua Between The Party Of Dinga Ashanti And The Party Of Kante Sosso.]

[No Conditions Were Set.]

[The Ntoqua Will End Once Either Party is Eliminated.]

SHWOO-OOM!

As the voice finished, RE began to rapidly build up within the valley as a transparent dome quickly formed, caging both parties inside.

[The Ntoqua, Will Now Commence.]

WOOOOM!

The moment the voice ended, a massive wave of red and black energy suddenly erupted from DInga.

HUOOO!

In a split second, the energy quickly condensed, forming a black and red avatar of the upper half of a man. The avatar had its arms crossed, an indifferent look on its face, and was adorned with a black crown atop his head as he hovered above Dinga.

HOOOM!

In another split second, the avatar shrank into Dinga's body as his white tattoo markings turned red.

BOOOM!

With an explosive force, Dinga began to enlarge.

Standing around 2.7-meters tall, with a well-balanced built physique. Inhaling deeply, Dinga cast a glance at the 2,501 men before him.

SSHHHK!

Instinctively the 2,501 soldiers took a step back.

It should be known that Terrests, in terms of raw strength, outclass Ichorests. The Terrestrial Path is the Path of limit breaking, whereas the Ichorestrial Path is one of enhancement. However, enhancement alone isn't sufficient. Thus, the reason Ichorests have their own Path and can compete with the other Paths, aside from their physical transformations, is the fact that they possess the experience of those who have possessed their bloodline before them. Thus the purpose refinement process of Ichorests is to simply enhance a bloodline holder's body to better utilize their transformations and ancestral experience. Compounding this with the raw energy of bloodlines themselves allows some Ichorests to induce an intimidation effect.

FWOOP!

With a slight movement, Dinga's cloak flapped behind him as he pulled out an archaic and rusted-looking black and gold Akrafena from his cloak.

"Archers! Fire!" Suddenly roared an umber brown-eyed man, with an umber toned complexion, standing at the back of the 2,501 men – Kante.

FWIII-IIIPPP!

Shaking off Dinga's suppressive aura, Kante's troops stood strong as the archers at the back let loose a volley of arrows as a similar thought ran through their heads. Regardless of how strong one man may be, they are still one man; what can one man do against 2,501 men?

Seeing the volley of arrows racing towards him, Dinga remained standing where he was, seemingly having no intention of dodging.

THU-THU-THU-THU….!

In seconds the volley of arrows reached Dinga.

FSSH!

Seeming to phase in out of existence, all the arrows landed on Dinga's location without Dinga receiving a single graze, much less a hit, while his position remained the same.

Seeing this, Arthur's eyes couldn't help but widen. 'The principles of flow?'

Seeing the shocked look on the soldiers in front of him, Dinga couldn't help but smirk. 'Did they really think I've been trying this entire 'war'?'

"This should be fun."

OOOOM!

[Historical Tidbit: Kante's character is based on Soumaoro Kanté, the 13th-century king of the Sosso people. He is noted for seizing Koumbi Saleh, the then capital of the falling Ghana Empire. As for who the Sosso people are, think of the Sosso Empire as like a pitstop before the rise of the Mali Empire, which was succeeded by the Songhai Empire. Also, apparently, Kante was said to have magical powers – I plan on having fun with this.]

[Tidbit: In relation with Mali having the Domnus King bloodline – derived from Mali meaning the place where the king lives…dormant…dominating. Ghana meaning the Warrior King. And Songhai, well, I couldn't find meaning, but they were the last of the three, so they got Tempest. Kante and Sosso, in relation to these three, would be the untouchable king, a status Kante got due to his sorcery mastery.]
