WHOOSH!
As the massive bird drew closer to the ground, it immediately flared its wings as it braced its talons.
WOOOM-CRSSH!
Just as the bird's claws were about to reach the injured Cisse, a golden-haired youth appeared in front of him.
CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK-CHK!
Just as the bird's claws were about shred to the golden-hair youth's body, a large ice shield bloomed before him.
BOOOM-FUT-FUT-FUT-FUT!
Crashing into the ice shield, the giant bird shattered it, sending shards of ice all over the open field, kicking up small clouds of dust.
"IMMFFFF!"
In a flash of red, the distinct sound of someone sharply inhaling reached both Cisse and the bird's ears just in time to notice their surroundings getting hotter.
WHOOSH!
The bird, stuck in an awkward flying position, couldn't react in time as a large plume of fire swallowed it.
"SCREEEEE!" – WHOOSH!
Screeching, the bird flapped its massive wings propelling it into the air as it tried to extinguish the flames.
However, Arthur wasn't going to allow it to get away that easily.
OOMPF-WHROOO!
Stomping down hard, a blossom of fire appeared beneath Arthur's feet.
WHOOSH!
Jumping, Arthur was forcefully propelled into the air as he soared after the brown bird. Gathering fire in his hands as he rose, the white halo that separated his pupils from his iris brightened slightly.
[Name: Uneblale]
[Type: Beast]
[Rank: EE]
[Threat Level: Low]
[Description: A common species of bird found across the whole realm. Commonly known for their blade-like feathers that become increasingly blade-like as they rank up. Typically very resilient, with decent self-regeneration. Also very territorial.]
[Remarks: What do you call a funny chicken? A...comedi-hen…heh]
WHROOOSH!
Arriving at the tail feathers of the uneblale, Arthur began a horizontal spin of his body, perpendicular to the uneblale's body, utilizing the gathered flames in his hands to boost his momentum.
WHISH!
Before the uneblale could even notice Arthur, Arthur arrived just above its beak with an ice-enveloped fist.
BOOOM-CCRRRKK!
With a resounding echo of shattering ice and hardened keratin, the uneblale began a forced descent downward.
"SQUIIAAA!"
With pained cries, the uneblale tried it roll itself over to make proper use of its wings. But-
WHROOOO!
A pillar of air suddenly descended on its body.
WHOOSH!
And before the uneblale could do anything about it, the pillar of air ignited.
WHOOSH-BOOOM!
The uneblale slammed into the ground with a resounding boom, kicking up a large plume of dust and hot air.
"Cal!"
WHISH-SQUILCH!
Landing on the head of the uneblale, Arthur plunged Cal into its eye, ending its life.
Immediately a faint blue mist burst from the uneblale's body. The majority of the mist dispersed into the air while a small portion flowed into Arthur.
Looking up from the uneblale's corpse, Arthur turned to Cisse, who was looking back at him with a dumbfounded look on his face.
…
"HUFF!" "HUFF!" "HUFF!" "HUFF!"
Lying sprawled out across blood-dyed grass, both Cisse and Arthur gulped for air as a mountain of beast corpses surrounded them.
Following the fall of the (EE) ranked beast, the only beasts left were F, FF, and a few FFF beasts. Along with Aegon and T'challa, all the beasts were felled in around an hour. It would have been faster if the quartet, well quintet if one included Cal, had retreated closer to the tribe wall.
"You should have gone easier – HUFF!"
"HUFF!- Like you are -HUFF-one to talk."
"Oh, yeah, which on us has actually awakened." Retorted Arthur.
"Tch! Still killed more than you." Fired back, Cisse.
"In what Realm?"
"This one stupid, can't you count?"
"Pahlease, Cal, what are the kill counts?"
During beast tide, correction, beast massacre, a little competition began between Arthur and Cisse on who could kill the most beasts. During this time, Arthur noticed that when Cisse killed the beasts, the beasts' dispersing realm energy would completely disperse into the air. Adding that to the lack of Realm Energy fluctuation within Cisse's body in addition to his youthful look, it wasn't hard for Arthur to put two and two together and figure out that Cisse hadn't awakened yet. Thus to keep their little competition fair, Arthur decided not to utilize his awakened abilities.
Hearing Arthur's question, Cal, who was floating above the two, answered. "Arthur 369, Cisse 420. Cisse wins by count. But in terms of kill value, Arthur wins by a significant margin."
""TCH!""
"Tie?" asked Cisse.
"As if. I win in the end. The beast may not have torn you to shreds, but the look in your mom's eye says she will be more than happy to finish the job."
"You know, as a brother, you 'are' my proverbial shield." Replied Cisse, stressing the word 'are.'
"…"
During the beast massacre, an interesting event had taken place. Weaving between decapitated beasts, both Cisse and Arthur suddenly felt their skins begin to tingle as the energy density surrounding them abruptly amplified.
Immediately drops of blood from their light wounds began condensing into a small orb. Reaching the fist's size, the orbs flew high into the air, then towards each other and fused.
Tracking the blood orbs, both youths promptly looked up. High above the now fused blood orb was a massive multilayered gold and silver circle.
[Observation: Fate Event]
[Type: Bond]
[Description: In the Realm of Pandora, some things are just meant to be.]
[Remarks: You know how when your mommy and daddy reawy wuv each other, they like to hug a lot when they go to sleep…yeaahhh… and then bam, a few months later, you get a wittle brother or sister. Well, it's nothing like that this time, but the same result. Congrats, you now have a brother.]
Just as Arthur had finished reading the observation, the red blood orb began to turn gold and silver. Vibrating for a bit, the orb split and shot into Arthur and Cisse. Immediately both of their accumulated injuries began to heal at a visible rate.
Just as the orbs fully fused with Cisse and Arthur, the overhead circle disappeared like it was never there. Leaving both staring at the tattooed band that had appeared just below their left deltoids.
…
"You know I would try to save you," began Arthur as he tried to sit up. "But I still haven't received compensation for the mental scars I received on our first encounter."
"Mental scar!? Who asked you you to drop out of the sky first plac-"started Cisse, but stopped when he noticed Arthur's face suddenly pale.
"I-I don't feel too good, perv-"
VUUM!
Before Arthur could finish his words, a massive spherical golden light suddenly burst out from his body as he lost consciousness.
