2 years after moving to New York Hailey found a package in the mail addressed to her but couldn't find who it was from only saying anonymous "sir can you tell me who sent this" the mailman was just about to leave the building when she caught him "I'm sorry I only deliver them" he said in a kind and apologetic tone before leaving. She stepped into the elevator skimming the mail "hold please" a young woman hobbled on crushes trying to get there before the elevator closed "what floor ma'am" she clicked 5 going up in silence "why is this" she opened a little bag with a lotus silhouette behind a deep red background and a note 'the element of peace had been born and it's time to take your claim, congratulations Hailey rose element of peace' she just stared at the note confused "how the hell did they get my address" leaving it on the counter to call her dad about it making dinner "hang on a second I'm looking it up" they only video chatted if it was an urgent matter but he was searching what this was. Hailey left it on the counter doing her own research but ultimately deciding the ring was too pretty not to wear "another anonymous letter" she read something about a meeting at a special address inclosed "okay so I have plans Friday night, now" it was the first time she had plans at night since she moved to New York that she had plans and the night before that she was having dinner with her boss and his boyfriend. She triple checked the paper and her phone "this is the place" the house looked like something a secret society would use once then abandon, the door was answered by an angry man catching her off guard asking about elements "I received the peace element ring" she studdered every word "stop harassing her come in miss rose" an elderly man brought her inside after scolding the man. She was put in a large room that felt like a small Congress group would meet in "who are you and what is this, a death ring" the older man looked almost offended by the tone in her voice "no this an official meeting, I'm the harmony element and as so the head of the council" he explained how someone is chosen for each element making her understand everything before it started, she was introduced to everyone noticing a familiar face "Kodi Martin, chaos" she zoned out getting a cold stare just repeating the name in her mind "Kodi Martin" after their engagement was broke off the two never contacted each other.
Every time she looked at the ring she was only reminded of that cold stare before tucking it back under her shirt "for an angel she's worst than me" no one was around in the captain's cabin, it was a rare moment of silence as she looked out the window at the sun coming up "ah if only raven wasn't asleep" she stopped just to enjoy the lights with the cup of tea she had all morning. Raven fell asleep in the office and stepped out her just sitting on the window as he scratched his face "hey what a view" Hailey laughed at him "it looks funny not brushed out" he had a fluffy beard covering his chin "yeah I've been thinking about shaving it off" he pulled out his comb combing it out "no I like it, just needs some shaping up" once everyone woke up their tasks started and Dani ran to her parents excited because she made a family breakfast. They set out the table and ate with her, it had been two years since their capture and the economy was getting better so they were looking at apartments and opening back up to customers with what the two had in their bank accounts. Hailey was making a return to visit her father finding the wall he referred to with the symbols and one single square that looked like it was lit up but there was no plug "this is the wisdom symbol" her dad caught her playing with the wall in a laugh "hey baby girl, where's Dani" he hugged her for the first time 5 years "I told them to stay put till gave my signal" she waved for them to come over and Dani ran straight Hailey "Dani in the flesh" Hailey's dad grabbed her smiling "as pretty as your momma" he looked at how happy Hailey and raven were inviting them in their hut introducing them to Michael.
Hailey was always being asked about her daughter's name "simply put if it was a boy I was going to name him Daniel and then Daniel (female) if it was a girl, but Dani slips off the tongue easier so we went with that" her full name was Dani Ellis Rose because it sounded beautiful. Ellis was ravens mom's name so that was there because she didn't want anything biblical like her siblings and to join them together in more than marriage. Raven always had something up his sleeve to surprise them "ta-da looky at what I found" he was wearing the old wedding ring that he lost a year after they bought the boat "and they say women lose their rings more often" she laughed watching the excitement in his face like a kid in a candy store "I'm gonna check on the crew" she let him do it while they all were playing in the pool having fun. Hailey got in contact with the police or anyone who would listen about Kodi and her crew of criminals, she had apparently emptied out 3 prisons and 2 jails just to get a lazy and idiotic crew "that's who did that" several of the officers screamed in unison "Kodi martin is a killer as well" for the year she was captive Kodi spilled the beans of every kill since she 12 thinking her and her family would never get away from them "wait a minute aren't you the heart stealer" "yes I know, and ill serve the time just help get your criminals back" she shouted slamming her knives into the table getting extremely frustrated with them. She was about to be restrained from anger "get your grubby hands off me" she calmed herself getting back home from it all to search for new homes.
Hailey singlehandedly helped bring in and fix the broken holes until the last one came about, the toughest miss Martin "look just come with me peacefully, and no one gets hurt" she stayed sitting calmly laughing to herself "I've heard that one before" she smiled "what's going on here" "it's a long story" people started whispering to everyone. Kodi took the chance to escape while Hailey explained the situation "I'm going home" they were finishing the move into the two-bedroom penthouse she had lived in but what they had forgotten was that the entire floor was theirs "it's gonna have to be another day to get her" she couldn't help but remember everything that happened in that apartment including every time a knife was thrown at her head. Dani never had many toys or the room for toys but she sure didn't have either of her parent's upbringing, they made sure of that because they didn't want any more trama than they could control. They were trying to get the business started again and right back to where it was before everything minus the mafia.
Dani's school bus always dropped her off at the building if her parents were too busy to pick her up, she always did her homework in the office. Hailey calmly answered the phone like usual hearing a familiar voice "Hailey you bitch" she had Dani go into her dad's office "so where do you stand" "I'll go, it's been boring" Hailey then contacted the police about what Kodi said only knowing she'd be going soon. Kodi turned herself in the next week saying she was tired of the running but Hailey saw it was an act "All alright ready to serve your time" Hailey just nodded in silence handing all her jewelry and only one request. Her only request was to explain why she was there she wouldn't be scared "miss Hailey you have a visitors" she was both happy and embarrassed to see her family this way "hey mom" she was confused as Hailey was lead to the steel table "hey Dani I can tell you all you need to know" she touched her hand telling her that she has killed people and wanted to do what's right "it's tiring to hide things, don't do like momma" she was in tears holding her daughter's hand "its time to go" she was sentenced 5 years with a chance of parole. She meet a teenager following her trail at lunch period as she was almost fangirling over the sight of Hailey "omg I can't believe your here" it sounded like she was yelling as Hailey sat alone in quiet after everyone was put in their cells was when she figured out the teen is her cellmate and could no longer ignore her so she huffed annoyed.
She somehow ran the company behind bars and already had most of the prisoner's respect because she personally took them down knowing her wrath "shut the hell up, I'm watching ellen" she screamed at the inmates trying to start a fight "told ya it's not a good time for that, she hates her free time being interrupted" three televisions were on as she death stared the ones in the hall. She had her community work half done from helping to rebuild taking 5 years off her sentence and she had a meeting with the board coming up after 2 years "mommy I'm sorry daddy couldn't make it but grandpa's here" Haileys dad wanted updates on how and when she's getting out "dad it won't be long for a parole meeting and momma will be home soon" her time was spent as peaceful as someone who was being stalked by an ex "what do you want from me" she asked every morning that Kodi sat with her at breakfast "I wanna be together, we were meant for each other" she put on the helpless woman act "not a chance I have a child and a husband that loves me" she moved tables laughing hysterically to herself to pass off something that would be a lot more fulfilling. The other prisoners were muttering about how long ago her killing streak ended "I'm not sure she still has the instinct anymore" they stopped chatting the second she passed the crowd "oh no it's still there, there just hasn't been a reason to use in 11 years" her tone said something about it being a shut up matter. The meeting went perfect so they set community service hours for when she was released "thank you for your time" she quietly left just to be alone spending most of the time in her cell drawing things to send home "hey miss, I heard you're getting out soon. I won't be so lucky" the girl laughed even as Hailey was getting annoyed "that is because they caught you dismembering someone, I'm going to play cards" she hopped off the top bunk leaving the sketch pad and the pencil leaving time for the girl to see the well-drawn, shaded, very detailed page of a child's face.
Hailey was in the middle of playing poker when a man that looked in his thirties tapped her shoulder "after this game" he slammed her hand on the table proud of it "not so fast" she was both impressed and upset that she lost "alright what do you want mister" she looked him up and down wearing a suit that looked bought at men's warehouse and light brown shoes that had no business being apart of that suit "I know who you are and it took me a bit to figure out your crime until the last page" she looked at him like he came to work drunk and high "so your what now" she was puzzle during the entire talk before she could play poker again before lights out. She gained a great fondness for the game as her favorite pass time whenever she didn't want to be alone playing with raven when he visited "oh come on you don't want to join in" she always responded when told the visit us over "I would but I'm working" he almost laughed at the request before taking her back to the cell caught a glimpse of her sketch pad on the desk and a soft smile at the child on the page "wow that's amazing" he picked it up getting a better look "I went to art school as long as I'm allowed a pencil ill use it" she drew from memory whether it was Dani as a baby or now that was all she thought about. Hailey just looked lonely as she sketched away on her own "miss rose" an inmate tapped her shoulder looking scared "yes why did you interrupt me" she slowly turned around "please help me" she saw Kodi begging on her knees "you killed 17 guards just to a whole ship full of people who didn't deserve to see the outside world, no offense to you guys" "non took we know" she gestured to her poker buddies knowing their morals weren't there but they were damn good composition shooing Kodi away. There was no desire to even be around that woman unless she was playing against her and no words were exchanged "Hailey, come with me" an officer touched her shoulder "hold my cards" she got up going with the woman, being handed her things "what the hells happening, I thought I was getting out tomorrow" she looked around confused to find out leaving today getting a call before packing what little things she had up. She quickly shared the news going for the call "Dani, mommas come home and after today I will never wear orange again" she heard happy screams on the other end with her telling raven what sounded like jumping "ok I'll see you at home" she hung up and couldn't stop smiling getting her sketchpad bought from her prison job "take it" she told a random guy to join the game taking her spot.
Hailey was wearing her wedding ring again after 5 years "just as beautiful as the day it was put there" she could still hear the excitement from the phone call asking for a pencil while waiting for the car and drawing a family portrait with her entire family in it even the woman who tried to kill her.
