"Welcome! No, that sounds too happy..." She cleared her throat and tried again." Welcome~ No that sounds too seductive and the cat ears add extra spice to the whole situation." She tried once more to perfect this very important task "um how about a small smile while I say "welcome."' She gasped "perfect!" She grabbed her phone to see if it was time to open the café. 5 more minutes.
The girl slightly raised her voice and said "hey! I'll be opening up soon so get your butts out here!" One of her employees walked out of the back room with a cat in her arms. "Oh come on Ash! Can't we open up a bit late today, I want to play with wittle bwaby Zeke for a bit more." She gave her boss puppy dog eyes. Ash shook her head "Star there are already customers outside, we have to open up like now-" The other employee walked up behind Star and took Zeke out of her hands. "Hey Miya! Gimme Zeke back!" Star walked towards him with a pout on her face. "Do you think a little pout like that will help you get back Zeke?" He asked in his naturally deep voice. She giggled at them both and then grabbed her black velvet closed-toe heels that went perfectly with her outfit today. "Star, what do you think of my outfit today?" Ash walked out from behind the counter and did a little twirl for her best friend.
Star playfully walked around Ash "hmmm. The spaghetti straps on the dress accentuate your shoulders. The shoes are cute as hell and the red lipstick is gorgeous. As always you look incredible!" Ash and she laughed. "And Miya, what do you think?" Ash asked Miyazaki.
He turned towards her "you look pretty like always," he covered his face while he talked, covering his blush.
Miyazaki turned around to unlock the glass door. A couple of customers walked in as soon as he opened the door. As the customers walked by him he said "welcome to our cat café, we are open until 5 pm today so stay as long as you like! Also, the wifi password is on the wall. Enjoy."
Ash quickly walked back behind the counter to take the customer's orders. "A medium mocha caramel iced coffee please with a recyclable straw, oh and a chocolate croissant," a female customer said. Ash smiled "alright that will be $7.45 USD. Will you be paying with cash or card today?" The girl handed Ash cash "great, and a name for the order?" Ash grabbed a marker to write on the cup "Fraya," Ash wrote the name and smiled "your order will be done soon. In the meantime, you can play with any of the cats and you can ask the employees for help if needed."
Miyazaki stood there watching Ash take orders, completely zoned out so, Star waved her hand in front of Miyazaki's face "hellllooo Miya?" Miyazaki stopped watching Ash work and replied to Star "what?" Star just laughed "when are you going to ask her out? All you do is just stare at her while she works." He covered her mouth "lower your voice."
Ash called for the customer "Fraya your order is ready!" After the customer received her order Ash looked at Miyazaki with a cute smile on her face placing her hands on each cheek "Miyazaki you know it's the owner's job to do the morning greeting? I practiced all morning!" He smiled at her, causing Ash's cheeks to fade into a shade of pink. Miya looked at her sweetly "but, I wanted to do the morning greeting today~"
Ash turned around so he wouldn't see her blushing face and said "just get to work." He walked up from behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, placing his lips very close to her ear whispered "did you sleep well last night?" She nodded, "yes I did, but I still feel exhausted." She placed her hands on his and took them off her waist. She turned around still holding one of his hands. She looked up at him, noticing that a piece of his hair was out of place so while fixing his hair she said to him "I was browsing Netflix yesterday and I saw this movie that you would like, so I was thinking that you could come over tonight and watch it with me and Star."
"Wait, Star will be there?" Ash finished fixing his hair and quickly said "uh-huh. Just tell me by noon today if you're coming k?" He nodded.
A customer rang the little bell on the counter "um excuse me?" Ash quickly let go of his hand and went to the counter.
Miyazaki was determined to watch the movie alone with Ash tonight so he took matters into his own hands and asked "Star, can you do me a favor?" Star nodded "sure what's up?" Miyazaki cleared his throat "um could you not go to Ash's tonight? So you know, we can be alone together?" Star smirked at him "oh finally shooting your shot huh? Took long enough. And besides, I promised my girlfriend that we would hang out tonight, so you would've already been alone with her." She laughed as she walked away from him.
"Miya! Table 3 needs you-" Ash said to him. He nodded at her and headed to table 3.
The day went by normally, the workers and customers fed and played with the cats, Ash made delicious beverages for the customers, and of course, she also made a mess. "Hey, Ash, did you finish the order for tab- pff, you have whipped cream in your hair," Miyazaki said while chuckling, he walked towards her after grabbing a towel. He dampened the towel a little with some warm water and then lightly held her hair with his right hand, wiping the whipped cream out with the towel in his left hand. "You do this like every day, maybe I should make you wear a hair net~" he laughed.
"I will never wear one of those" she giggled and slowly looked up at him, their faces were inches apart. But she quickly looked back down. "Done. Make sure not to make any more messes okay?" He said, before getting back to work he put her hair behind her ears and patted the top of her head. As soon as he turned around he noticed one of the cats eating one of the customer's foods, "Bailey! Do not eat that customer's muffin!" He ran over and grabbed the cat before it could eat any more of the customer's food. "I am so sorry, she never does this." He bowed and quickly apologized to the women.
He took the customer's food and brought it back to the counter where Ash was "hey could you get the women at table 5 another blueberry muffin? Bailey started to eat it..." Ash was finishing up an order when he asked so she was busy at the moment. She finished the order "uh yeah- hold on," she walked towards him to grab the muffin but instead slipped on the whipped cream she split earlier causing her to fall right on her tailbone.
"Ow!" Miyazaki dropped the muffin and ran over to help Ash. "Are you okay?" He quickly helped her get to her feet. "Maybe wearing heels in the café isn't the best idea," he laughed. She laughed "I'm gonna go sit down for a minute, could you clean that up for me?" He nodded. After he cleaned up the mess she walked over to Ash to check if she needed any ice. She shook her head but thanked him for asking.
"Since there are no more customers, I think we should close a bit early today" Ash suggested. Miyazaki nodded his head "yeah we are all pretty tired. Maybe we should head to your apartment to watch that movie." Ash smiled "yeah that sounds more fun than slipping on whipped cream." They all laughed.
"Oh Ash, I promised my girlfriend that we would hang out tonight. So it's just gonna be you and Miya," Star said. "Oh yeah no problem, make sure to tell her I said hi!" Star grabbed her bag and jacket before she left the café, "see ya tomorrow guys! Miya keep your hands to yourself."
Ash put food in each of the cat's bowls, grabbed her bag, and looked at Miyazaki "ready to go?" Miyazaki looked at her and smiled "yup."
