Chapter 13 - Some Fun and Games

"Hey, Rosalie."

"Hmm?"

"Just wondering, do you happen to play any games? Since you're looking to upgrade your computer and stuff."

Rosalie was standing in the middle of the computer parts lane staring at the different options while Christophe pranced around looking over her shoulders.

This was a problem, if she told him that she was Ose, word would definitely spread, and that's the last thing she wants.

It should be fine if I don't tell him the whole truth, right?

"Oh, I play a few games, here and there, mostly just the popular ones."

"Okay then, which ones do you play? I play quite a few myself, but you probably know since I'm pretty well known. I'll even accept your friend request, just so you know, it's pretty hard to get on my friend list."

"Haha… it's okay. I'm usually a solo player, I'm not much of a people person."

"Cool cool, just shoot me a request if you need help clearing a dungeon or quest, I'll help you if I have spare time."

He usually didn't offer to help anyone in games.

Well, I'm just graciously offering a helping hand to a noob. I'm such a considerate person.

She dodged a bullet there. Rosalie rubbed her hands together nervously as she browsed the section. She wanted to build a new pc and started off by looking at the lines of processors they had in stock. Since she didn't have to worry about expenses, she focused on finding the processor that would be best suited to her needs.

After meticulously picking the parts she wanted, she chucked them into the small shopping basket she grabbed earlier. Meanwhile, Christophe strayed away to the game section to see if any of the latest games he was eyeing were in stock here.

He browsed through the extensive line-up of games and picked out a few that he wanted to play for the week. Being one of the most well-known gamers in the world, Christophe was constantly approached for game recommendations and reviews, so of course, he liked to stay on top of things. His reviews were wildly popular and could make or break a game with a single sentence. He had well over 30 million followers on his blog and social media accounts.

The two of them met up after getting their stuff and headed back to Carter who was tending the register.

"Hey there! Did you guys find everything good?"

Rosalie put her small basket filled to the brim with products onto the white counter for Carter to check out.

He looked over a whistled, "That's some good picks over there, you looking to build a custom?"

Carter took his time scanning all the items while making small talk with both of them.

"Yeah, I've wanted to try building one for a while, and I have the means to acquire all the parts I want now."

"Okay then… well I'd recommend grabbing one of our desk mats. We have a large selection and a variety in stock, feel free to look through our booklet."

"No, I think I'm g-"

Carter wore a merchant's smile as he handed over the booklet of designs to Rosalie. She couldn't refuse.

She briefly flipped through them, deciding that she would politely do so then turn down the offer. However, her eyes were drawn to a grey desk mat with a cute black cat pattern sprawled across. She looked up at Carted to indicate that she has decided on one and pointed at the mat she wanted.

Carter clasped his hands together in excitement.

"That's a wonderful choice, you have great taste miss! I'll just be going to the back to grab your desk mat for you to inspect, I'll be right back."

He left to go to the backroom and left Rosalie and Christoph alone at the register.

"Do you have any plans for later? I mean after you drop your stuff off at your room?"

"Well, I was planning on starting on my pc, after that, I'll probably be playing around on it. Why?"

"Oh nothing, I was just wondering if you wanted to try to play any games with me? If you haven't heard yet, I'm the top-ranking player in a lot of games, I'll make it worth your while, I wanna see how your gaming skills match up."

"Ha ha, you don't want to know the level of my gaming skills, it'd leave you speechless."

Is she so bad at gaming that she'd rather have me not know than embarrass herself in front of me?

"Aah, so that's how it is, I completely understand."

He nodded with understanding with a sympathetic look on his face.
