The two protectors weren't sure what they would walk into, but then they got to the royal study and found Rukiya actually reading some book. A part of them was glad she wasn't as bloodied as the woman who had sent them here.
She had scared the hell out of them and if the protectors were being honest, there were a lot of better options out there than crossing Awuor Hawi. Granted, she hadn't done any damage to them, but they were still scared, and rightfully so.
It didn't matter that the world was always going to talk of the high chance that the woman would be their savior. She scared the shits out of them and they wouldn't pretend and deny that very obvious fate.
