Chapter 8 - 7. ''LUNA''

I woke up with a rhythmic 'beep' sound. The surroundings was bright and white. I felt rested as I opened my eyes slowly. It was as if all the tiredness was drained away from me.

I remembered the last moments of mine half and half through before I blacked out. I didn't think much about where I was, I was in a hospital or a clinic.

It was obvious.

When I recognized the probes on my chest and the extension of the serum running over my right hand combined with the blue hospital gown I was wearing, it made me feel sick.

I straighten up where I was and saw Tan, who was asleep next to me. He was wearing a plaid shirt. His mouth was open in a semicircle, also unlike me, he looked tired. He was looking so... Handsome. I couldn't help but stare at his innocent face for a while.

Then I wanted to slap myself... He was my friend! What I was thinking about him?

I didn't want to wake him up, but he felt the movement and woke up spontaneously. "Alya?" He said, sleepily. His voice was forked. "Mhm?" I replied vaguely, I was feeling guilty as if I did something bad. "When did you wake up?" He asked, as he stood.

"A little while ago. How long have we been here?" I asked and moved my mind to exactly the position of us, not to imaginary things.

"It's been two days. I thought you would never wake up, thanks to god, you did." He said in a rather happy tone, then smiled. After him, I smiled like he did. "Have you talked to my mom? Gece, Evren?" There was a small stirring of excitement inside me when he nodded his head as an approval. "I've talked to them, they're all good. Don't worry." Then the excitement in me faded away.

Why was I not allowed to speak with them while he could speak? Even though I wanted to raise this question, I gave up.

He continued to stare at my face with a smile. "Let me inform the doctors, they were waiting for you to wake up." He said and stroked my head with his hand. After I answered him with a smile, he pushed his chair with a loud noise and got up for to left the room. His movements were strangely bothering me. I was feeling like he wasn't acting like the old Tan. Or maybe that was just my delusion.

It have to be.

I started watching out through the window. It was snowing. We were in February, but until now, the weather had not been cold enough to create this image. This showed that the already shifting balance of the world had collapsed more. Perhaps, we had come to the point where all the hopes was lost.

Maybe the world was in its last days, although no one could accept it, I was sure.

"Here, the top bunk can be yours." Said the girl I know her name is Luna, kindly. She smiled and nodded, "It's okay, even the lower bunk could have been better." I said. Climbing to the top every time, was more tiring. "As you wish!" As she pursed her lips and raised both eyebrows, she squeaked. Swiping her blond hair, which she made into a ponytail, she turned around and started to busy with something else.

I would have preferred Tan's strange attitude since we came, instead of putting up with this girl.

"Can we talk a little bit, Luna?" I asked. She nodded at me, again and again.

What I wanted to talk about was; what might have pushed her to be in POST's training camps. What could such a lovable girl do with death?

I moved forward and sat on the beanbag pillows in the corner of the room, she also had taken her place right next to me. "What are we going to talk about?" She said. It was pissing me off that she was always acting so happy. "Why are you here? I mean, did you came to this training camp of your own decision?" I said and smiled like she did. "I… I don't know! My father is one of the seniors here. He said I should follow this way of POST too!"

I listened to her did not comment on what she said. "Why did you come then?" She asked. For a moment I panicked at this question. "I came for our govenrmental, POST. You know, all the people in those cities are unnecessary and must be destroyed." Then I felt a bit of a tingle, but I couldn't tell anyone the real reason why I was here. Otherwise, it would also interfere with useful information I could get.

"To honor your new arrival, I can take you on a trip tonight!" She said with the same happiness. "What trip?" I asked. "I said, my father is an instructor here." She winked. "Right! So you are saying that I can let you in the places where only the seniors can enter?" As the girl clapped her hands, "Exactly!" she said.

I squinted at the girl. "Can a friend of mine join us? I swear he will do no harm."
