Inside a building that was exquisitely designed, well adorned with decorations and painting, Bing Wan slumped onto the sofa, impatiently asking, "What's the matter? What's the situation that is so urgent that you even called me here for?"
Ouyang Yun felt like crying when she saw her boss's actions. She had just noticed a very urgent situation that will affect all of them, and their boss is just lying on the sofa nonchalantly, without a care for the world.
She could only helplessly shake his head at this, as she reported with a serious tone "I have received new that the Hell Devils, the dominant force in the city, will attack our base this evening."
Bing Wan abruptly froze in her actions, as she suddenly sat up straight, staring at Ouyang Yun, telling her to continue talking.
"If this new is true, I'm afraid that our entire underground force will be wiped out by tomorrow night.
Judging by their strength and ferociousness, we currently do not stand a single chance against them."
Ouyang Yun's expression turned grave as she informed Bing Wan of the current situation.
This was a matter concerning their entire force, and if they made a wrong decision, it may result in unimaginable consequences.
"Call the main members for a meeting, now!" Bing Wan ordered. She definitely knew what her report meant, and she couldn't help but darken her face, as her eyes brows tightened.
A few minutes later, a group of men and woman sat gathered around a table, with Bing Wan at the front, radiating of a leader's temperament – strong and steady.
"Boss, why did you call us up for? I was still in my beauty sleep just now." An alluring beauty opened his mouth, as she said in mock dissatisfaction.
She was named Qing Meng, and was one of Bing Wan's most trusted subordinates.
"I have received news from Ouyang Yun that the Hell Devils will be attacking us tonight. Do you have any ideas about how to minimize our losses?" Bing Wan slowly asked, her gaze sweeping over everyone one of the people gathered here.
After knowing of the matter, their slightly playful and casual expressions all turned serious, as a deadly silence enveloped them.
A wrong decision could lead to their death.
"Maybe, we can surrender?" A weak voice suggested, disturbing the silence. The person speaking was Murong Yuan, another woman.
She was feeble looking and delicate, and seemed like a weak flower. However, her main asset was her astute brain, which had helped them get out of many complicated situations.
As her voice slowly died down, everyone looked at each other and sighed inwardly.
If Murong Yuan suggestion was as such, then they had no choice but to follow.
Honestly, they weren't able to think of any other solutions.
The Hell Devils were known for being ruthless and decisive, and also possessed an air of mystery around them.
They had no idea who was the true boss behind them, and only knew that they had forces countless times more powerful than them.
The best solution so far, was to surrender.
But Bing Wan did not like that.
It went against her pride and dignity.
"We have spent so much time and effort to get to our current stage that we are in, so how can we simply surrender?" Bing Wan frowned her eyebrows.
"If the battle is inevitable, then we shall battle. Worse come to worse, we can surrender after we fight. But how can we simply surrender, without putting up a fight? How could we live up to all our brothers and sisters that have died for us, that died for our force, that died for the name Hidden Black Butterflies?" At this point, Bing Wan's voice gradually turned into a roaring speech that lifted the spirits of her subordinates, and left their blood boiling in passion and fervor.
As her voice landed, Qing Meng instantly stood up, and lifted her hand in the air, "That is true! How could we surrender without a fight? I second this!"
With the initiative taken, the rest of the people subsequently stood up and raised their hands in support, crying out in acknowledgement.
Murong Yuan also meekly announced her support.
Sometimes, logic and reasoning was not everything. Emotions could help you make a decision too.
A choice that they will not regret.
"Tell the entire force to prepare for a battle tonight. For the biggest, and greatest battle of our entire history!" Bing Wan's voice thundered throughout the four corners of the room, reaching the depths of their hearts.
Adrenaline rose from within them, and they all looked as if they could not wait to start fighting.
Morale, was a very powerful thing.
Gu Ling district. Evening, 10 pm.
The night was especially silent today. The streets were empty, the roadsides quiet.
The sky was clear of clouds today, and the moonlight that shone on the streets were intensified in radiance, unblocked by the hovering clouds, giving the streets a mysterious faint grey shadow.
This was the calm, before the storm.
