A break of laughter broke the serious atmosphere that was surrounding them. Floriana was left speechless and confused she didn't know why Kaden was laughing. It was supposed to be a serious conversation but instead, the atmosphere had lightened.
"What? It's not something to laugh at," Floriana said to Kaeden who was keeping himself calm after the laugh. Kaden shook his head and held her hands. In a low tone, he said, "I've known about that. Since the first time we've met."
"How? I-it's not like I told you about myself," Floriana stuttered and tried removing her hands away from his. But Kaeden's wouldn't let go of her. "Can I call you Flora instead?" His black eyes look at her. Floriana didn't say anything but she liked the nickname given by him. He lowered his head then whispered into her ears, "If I told you I'm the demon Lord's son. What would you do?"
Floriana pushed Kaeden away as she didn't believe it at first. It's like he's going along with her plays of being the angel Lord's daughter.
"It's not funny. I was telling the truth," Floriana glared at him.
"I was also telling the truth. I have proof," Kaeden without any hesitation removed his shirt and turned back, revealing black marks and a black rose print in the middle. A black rose represents the next leader of the demon clan and it was true that he wasn't lying.
"It looks painful. Does it hurt?"
"It used to but. Not anymore."
Florian revealed her birthmark which is also a sign that she is the next leader of the angel clan. Her birthmark was in a form of a crescent moon which was located on her right shoulder. It isn't that big but visible as if it is shown to people it would shine.
"But is it alright? For us to be lovers?" Floriana frowned.
"It's alright Flora. No matter what happens. I will always be with you."
The book cuts cut off from this part as this was the end. Sometimes I wonder if the author of this book purposely cut it from here or there is the ending but some people hid it and burned it away.
But I doubt I would be able to find the next book. But maybe my dreams could lead to the story. I shook my head as I am not supposed to be thinking things like that. There is no way my dreams move to the next part.
"Flora! Clean this place up!" My aunt called for my name, and I shut the book immediately. I looked at the hanging clock and was shocked. Did it take that long for me to finish the book? It felt like thirty minutes, but an hour had already passed.
After cleaning the dining hall, I went back to my usual routine. Cleaning the windows, rooms, the bathroom, and other more. It's a good thing the family would be out for the whole afternoon, and so there is no need to worry about lunch and supper. It's a family outing, but of course, I am not included. I don't mind at all because they are not my own family.
Behind the mansion, there is a place where I would go and spend my free time. The feeling of being trapped in my own room is the worse feeling, and so I decided to find a place where I could relax.
I walked into the forest and kept walking until I saw the wooden bench in front of the lake. I took my seat on the bench and closed my eyes. The cool air brushed my hair gently, and I slowly opened my eyes, seeing the beautiful reflection of the river.
I was about to close my eyes, but I heard rustling sounds behind me. I slowly turned my back and didn't see anyone or an animal. I know this might be the stupidest thing to do, but I went ahead to check.
I continued walking into the bushes and saw blood trails on the ground. Is someone hurt? It's not uncommon for animals to get hurt as there are wolves wandering in the forest. I followed the blood trail and stopped when it lead me to a person.
He had black hair and looked well built but what caught her attention more was the blood flowing out from his abdominal and other more wounds all over his body.
If I knew my life would change after saving him. I would have to thank my kind self for saving his life.
