Eileen's POV:
It has been three days since I had lunch with Ethan. The conversation between us have been playing on my mind every day since then. Six years ago, when we used to meet each other "coincidentally" at the café, we never talked so much. You know what's funny, that isn't completely true, we did talk a lot, but never about each other, it was always some random topic that we ended up talking about. This was the first time either of us talked about our lives, and it's awkward. Since I never shared anything about me except my name and birthday, I never asked him anything about himself. The only reason why I even told him my name and birthday were because he kept asking. And boy, that man was one persistent human.
It was lunch time and just like always I was doing it alone. Ever since I became the marketing head, I have been having meals alone. It's very rare for me to have lunch with someone. The other employees enjoyed their lunch time in groups and it never bothered me or made me feel lonely since this is the only time, I could use to clear my mind. But after that one lunch with Ethan, having lunch alone has started to make me feel lonely which is bad because I don't want to get used to his company.
The last time I remembered it was noon when I went back to my desk. I didn't even realize how quiet the whole office had gotten. Then again that's what happens when you got yourself drowned in tons of files. The soft knock on my door, the sweet scent of perfume, I didn't have to look up to know who she was. Nora the youthful woman, that I employed as my PA.
"If it was something urgent, say quickly." I got back to going through the files.
"Are you not going home?" Flipping through the files stopped when I heard what she said. I looked up from the files again.
"What are you talking about? It's not even 8." I looked at her as if she is crazy.
"It's 10 o'clock." She said looking at her wristwatch.
Confused I looked at the clock sitting on my table. She was right. It is 10 pm. I looked outside the window to see that the sky was no longer orange, but pitch dark. Where did the time go?
"I didn't even know it had gotten this late. Why haven't you gone home?" I asked her.
"How can a PA go home when her boss hasn't?" She reminded me.
"Yeah that's right. You can go home. I am also going to do the same." I closed all the files on my table.
"Thank you. Have a good night." Nora was checking in her well manicured nails. "And oh, enjoy your weekend tomorrow, boss." She winked.
"Thank you and have a good night you too, " I said back. She left the office. And soon, I was all alone, that's when I realized that it's the weekend tomorrow, no wonder everyone was all excited and cheerful.
I stood up and took my bag and blazer from the coat hanger. Putting the blazer on, I took my bag in hand and the files and left the office. When I stepped out, she wasn't there anymore. I felt guilty, for making her stay up till late. But tonight, she has left. I envied her, she's all about work and fun. She's always full of life and I wanted to be like her, but then, I have a child to take care off, a responsibility that I enjoyed. The ride back home was thoughts free which I enjoyed extremely. I couldn't pull down the windshields since the air is cold these days. Winter is getting cold day by day.
As expected, Alina was asleep when I reached home. The maid had left as soon as I came in, not wanting to disturb Alina's sleep, I just took a look from far and went to my room to get changed. I had just got out of the bathroom after a shower when I heard the doorbell ring. Who could it be at this hour? I wondered. Quickly I dried myself up and got into something comfortable before leaving the room. In between, whoever that is had run the bell two more times. Hoping that Alina hasn't woken up, I took a peek into her room before going to open the door. Thankfully she was sound asleep. The room door was closed or else she would have woken up by now.
Unlocking the door, I opened it only to get the best surprise ever.
"MOM!" I excitedly hugged her. It has been so long since I have seen her.
"My daughter, so good to see you." She wrapped her hands around me in a warm embrace. I felt her caress the back of my head. I have missed my mom's hugs.
I pulled out from the hug to just look at her. I couldn't believe that she is actually here.
"Are you going to keep your mother outside here the whole night?" She dragged me out of my happy place. I quickly let her in.
While she sat on the sofa, I made some tea for the both of us. She must have been cold and tea was always the best for warming up. With the teacups in hand, I went and sat beside her. I gave her one cup before taking a sip from mine.
"How come you are here?" I asked. She didn't even tell me she was coming. If she had told me I would have gone to pick her up.
"Are you not happy to see your mother?" She asked in a not so serious way.
"What are you talking about? I am extremely happy. I mean why didn't you tell me? I would have gone to pick you up." I didn't like that she came all alone.
"I wanted to surprise you and my granddaughter. Where is she?"
"She is in her room," I pointed at her room "and she is asleep."
"I will just meet her tomorrow. I am very tired, let's just sleep."
I could see that she was tired indeed.
"Yeah let's. You should go and freshen up mom. I will be there after washing the cups." I drank the tea quickly.
She put her cup on the tea table and stood up. She didn't finish the whole cup. With her suitcase, she went to my room. As I said, I washed the cups before going inside the room. When I entered she was still in the bathroom. While waiting for her, I took out an extra blanket for her.
I laid down on the bed playing with my phone hoping that I won't fall asleep before she came out. I tried to stay up, convincing myself, I would stay awake till she stepped out from the shower. But I must have been extremely tired and sleepy because I felt myself doze off and sleep take over me.
The sound of someone dragging something was what woke me up from my sleep so suddenly. For a moment I forgot that Mom was here. And I didn't remember until I ran out of the room to see who broke into our house to see my mother and my daughter in the kitchen. Still pretty much covered in my rope and a disheveled hair, I yawned sleepily as I leaned on the wall near the kitchen.
"What's the time?" I asked seeing that Alina was awake. I could barely open my eye lids. For god sakes, it's the weekend and I am so looking forward to wake up slightly late. But it wasn't happening because right now, in front of me, stood my mom and my daughter.
"8 am." Mom looked at her phone and answered me.
8? 8?? Why are they awake so early?
"Why are you both awake so early?" I asked tiredly. I dragged the chair and rested my head on the table. Mom put her hand on me, "Go up to your room and catch up on your sleep. We'll wake you up when breakfast is ready."
I looked up to see my mom smiled at me. I was amazed on how she maintained her skin and her jet black hair. Sure with those fine wrinkles on her flawless skin, other than that, she barely aged. I held on to her hand and pushed myself off the chair. "I'll go up now, mom."
I went to my daughter and gave a kiss on her head. "Good morning, my baby." She gave me the sweetest smile ever. The smile that melted my heart a thousand times, that would definitely cause heartbreaks one day. On the way up the stairs, I ruffled Alina's hair which made her grumbled and making me laugh. She hates when anyone touches her hair except when it's to make her hair. It makes me laughed because that's another thing she got from me. I hate it when anyone touches my hair and messes it. Alina looks adorable when she is annoyed. She is not a girl who gets annoyed by just anything.
Since today's plan is to stay home all day, I took out a comfortable cream-colored pullover and my black tights. Home all day means comfortable clothing. I put the clothes on the bed and locked the room before going into the bathroom to take a warm shower. I decided to just head for the shower instead. Warm shower on a week end, relax the nerves instead of a cold one which I needed only during those days where I think I needed to stay alert. After a long shower, I got out. I dried myself up and put on my clothes. With a towel wrapped on my hair, I left my room. The moment I stepped out of the room, the delicious smell of breakfast engulfed me. Excited to eat Mom's breakfast, I took a seat at the table beside Alina.
"Are you excited to eat breakfast made by grandma?" I asked Alina.
She excitedly nodded. "Me too" I was excited too.
As soon as the breakfast was kept in front of us, we dug into it. As I enjoyed eating breakfast, I enjoyed watching Alina eat more. Every mother enjoys watching their child eat.
"How many days are you staying this time?" I turned my attention to my Mom.
"A week maybe, depends. I was missing the both of you too much that was why I came."
"I am glad you are here. We have missed you too. I am also happy that I will get to eat breakfast made by you for a week." I felt excited and happy. I may be a grown-up and a mother myself, but a child is never old for their mother's cooking.
After the delicious breakfast, I sat down on the sofa with Alina resting on my lap. We were reading a storybook that her grandma had brought for her. It was a thick book compared to what she usually read.. But it had lots of pictures and it was written in big letters making it fun for kids to read and enjoy.
We were almost done with the storybook when I heard my phone ring. I ignored the sound and continued reading the book with Alina.
"Eileen, your phone is ringing dear." I heard my mother call out from the bedroom.
"Who is it?" I asked loudly enough for her to hear.
I didn't get any response so I just got back to reading. It was the last page.
Just as I had closed the book, I heard the phone ring again. This time it was getting closer and louder. I looked at the way the sound was coming from and saw Mom had my phone.
"Who is it?" I asked again when I saw her coming my way.
She shrugged.
I took my phone from her. It was an unsaved number. I thought twice before I finally answered the call. Before I could ask who is it, the caller spoke.
"Finally you answered." The voice was familiar.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"You don't recognize my voice?" The caller asked in a hurt tone.
"Your voice sounds familiar." His voice sounds like Ethan. Could it be?
"Ethan?" I asked doubtfully.
"Bingo."
"How did you get my number?" I asked.
"From my aunt. Anyways I called for a reason." He changed the topic.
"Yeah obviously. What is it?" Did he think I would think that he called for no reason?
"Go out with me today." He said without any hesitation.
"What?!" I couldn't stop my reaction.
"Not in the way you are thinking. You know how the author wants my photography to be used as the cover?" He started to explain himself.
I cleared my throat shaking away my shock, "Yeah. What about it?"
"I finally got a free day and I want to go do some photography and I want you to come with me."
"Why me? And it's the weekend. I don't plan on leaving my home today. " As exciting as it is, I really didn't want to go out.
"It's the weekend that's why you should come with me. And you because, I couldn't think of anyone else who I wanted to keep me company."
"But I do--
"Eileen." I got stopped by the sound of Mom calling me.
"Just one moment," I said to Ethan before putting him on hold.
"Yes mom?"
"Go out with this person." She said.
"What?" I asked taken aback
"You can go. I will stay with Alina." She tried convincing me to go.
"But I wanted to spend time with you and Alina today." I was looking forward to it so much.
"I am here for a week and your daughter is going nowhere. Today let me spend time with my granddaughter. Tomorrow the three of us can spend time together." She suggested.
"But..."
"No buts. Just go and have fun. The two of us will have fun too. Right dear?" She asked Alina who was sitting on her lap. I looked at her to see what she is gonna say and as much as I was hoping she would ask me to say, she agreed with her grandma.
"Alright." I gave in at last.
I removed hold from the call.
"Hello? You there?" I called out when I couldn't hear anything.
"Yeah still here. So what's your answer?"
"I am going. By when should I be ready?" I have yet to decide what to wear even.
"By 11. So in an hour, I will come to pick you up. Text me your address."
"Why will you pick me up? I have my car." Driving in the same car with him...
"It will be easy this way if we just carpool don't you think?"
"You are right. I will be ready by 11. See you then." Not waiting for him to say anything more I hung up. Only after I hung up I realized how rude that was.
Only when I hung up it hit me that I am going out with Ethan. It wasn't a date per se. I didn't realize that I was sitting looking like a fool until my mom snapped me out of it.
"Huh?" I looked at her confused.
"Aren't you going to start getting ready? It's 10 o'clock now." She caught me up with the time.
Immediately I stood up and ran to my room. I opened my closet and started rummaging through the clothes. I am pretty sure I spend around twenty minutes going through the clothes before I finally decided on a white cropped top sweater cardigan and dark blue high waist anti skinny jeans that I chose to wear with on the bed. I sent my address to him before going to the bathroom to take a small shower. After getting freshened up, I got out of the bathroom. I locked the room door before starting to get dressed.
After drying myself up, I put on my outfit. I tucked the top into the jeans so that it won't show any skin. I sat down in front of the dressing table to do my hair and get ready. I combed my hair nicely clearing all the knots. Thankfully my hair was all dry. I loosely tied my hair with a small scarf. It was windy these days so letting my hair loose is not a good idea. I don't like it when hair gets in my face. I love my long hair but the getting in my face thing that comes with it, I don't like. I put on a bit of face powder and used a nude pink color on my lips. It's the same color as my lips but I like to put on a little bit of lipstick. Once I was done, I stood up and stood in front of the full body mirror. I took a look at myself and liked what I saw. I haven't worn this outfit in a long time and it still fits. I tend to eat a lot some parts of the year and it has been more than a year since I wore this.
I tend to eat a lot some parts of the year and it has been more than a year since I wore this
I took my perfume bottle and sprayed just enough on me. I had to prepare my bag and wear my shoes too. For that I went back to the closet and took out a nude color handbag and a pair of brown retro short boots. I put my wallet, my lipstick, my face powder, and a small perfume bottle that I always carry in my office bag. Once I felt like I was ready, I took my shoes in hand along with the house key and phone I went to the living room. I didn't want to walk around the house with shoes on.
"Mommy is looking so pretty." As soon as I came to the living room I heard Alina say it loudly.
"Thank you darling. Come here."
She came running. I gave kisses on both her cheeks making her laugh. She is ticklish at times. When I let her go, she sat next to me. Quickly I looked at the time and saw that there was still five minutes before he comes. I took my time wearing my shoes and drinking a glass of water.
Sharp at 11 my phone rang. It was that unsaved number. In a hurry, I had forgotten to save his number even when I sent him my address. Without letting it ring more I answered the phone.
"Hello." I greeted first this time.
"Hey. I am here. Come down."
"Yeah okay." He cut the line.
Saying bye to Alina and Mom, I left the apartment. All the way to the ground floor, I tried calming my nervous heart. I am actually going somewhere with him. Just before the elevator door opened, I took one last look at myself from the big mirror in the elevator wall.
Okay Eileen; be cool.
With every step I took towards the building door, I could hear my heartbeat get faster and faster. He was right in front of the building leaning on his car. He doing something with his phone. I have always been someone who takes full advantage of an opportunity. Before he would notice me, I just took one look at him and goodness he looked handsome. I didn't stare at him. It was just one look. I put my gaze down. But that one look was enough to create a permanent image in my head. He was wearing a navy colored sweater, greyish jeans, and black peacoat.
As I stopped in front of him, I looked at him to see that he was looking at me. The way he looked at me was deep, it was like he was staring right into my soul. I waited for him to say something but he kept staring. I didn't dare look into his eyes.
"Let's go." I pulled him out of whatever trance he was in.
"Oh, yeah. Let's go." He looked embarrassed. The gentlemen he is, he opened the door for me. Saying thank you, I got in. He even closed the door for me.
When he settled on the driver's seat and started the car, I finally asked about where we are going and his answer was strange, "Nowhere."
"What do you mean nowhere?" I became confused.
"It means there is no specific place. I just want to ride around, go through alleys, and just take pictures. But let's have an early lunch. I am extremely hungry, you?" He jumped from one topic to the other quickly making me chuckle.
"Your idea sounds nice. And I don't mind an early lunch. Do you have a specific place in mind or are you just going to stop at a random place for that too?" I teased him.
"Are you teasing me right now?" He asked with an amused smile.
I nodded.
"Actually I have a place in mind. I won't choose a place to eat when you are going to eat with me." Hearing him say that made me look at him. His eyes were on the road and he had o special expression on his face. What did he mean by that?
"But I like random. " I said honestly. I don't always like planned things. Random is fun sometimes.
He didn't say anything for a while.
"Random it is then." He whispered to himself.
Just like he said, the restaurant was randomly chosen. We passed by many many restaurants until he just suddenly stopped. I asked him if this was the chosen restaurant and he is just acting as if its randomly chosen and he said it wasn't and he isn't. It was an Italian place. The food I ate was extremely delicious. With just one meal, the restaurant went on top of the 'must come again' list of restaurants.
Back in the car, he drove us through the city. He didn't stop anywhere but kept looking out as if looking for something. I wanted to ask what he is looking for but I didn't. I couldn't. Why was it so hard to open my mouth and talk today?
I don't know how we were driving when he suddenly stopped in front of an alley. Why are we stopping in front of an alley? Without even saying a word, he got out of the car and opened the door of the back seat and took out his camera. He gave me a "Wait there" sign before walked into the alley leaving me confused as heck. I was about to get out of the car when he suddenly came back and asked me to come with him. I was beyond relieved when he came back. I followed him as he walked and walked. He took a turn after another. Where is he going? Without a word I followed him and waited till he reaches what he is looking for before I ask.
We must have walked for ten minutes before he suddenly stopped. He stopped so suddenly that I bumped on to his back.
"Sorry." I apologized because I felt embarrassed. I stepped aside from him to look at why he stopped. And goodness, no wonder why he stopped. It was one of those secret corners hidden in the long tiny alleys in London. I have always heard about it but never got the time to actually explore the places.
"This is so beautiful
"This is so beautiful." I couldn't help the awe.
"I have been looking for this place for a while now. I was hoping to find it today." He explained.
"That explains why you kept looking around so much when you were driving," I said in realization. He gave a nod.
"While you take pictures, I will look around okay?" I didn't want to get lost so obviously I have to tell him.
"Yeah okay." He agreed.
I started walking, taking slow steps just looking around a little bit. I could already hear the sound of the camera snapping pictures. I should also take some pictures so that I can show Alina and Mom. From the leaves to the stones, I took pictures. Everything about the alley was beautiful. As I took pictures, my eyes fell on to the handsome photographer. Secretly before he would turn or feel that I am looking at him, I clicked a few pictures of him. I didn't stand and stare at him in case it may disturb him, so I just continued walking around. I even saw a cafe not too far.
I wanted to go in to grab something warm to drink, but before I could do that I heard Ethan calling my name. Deciding to grab something to drink from another cafe, I hurriedly went to where he was. He looked worried.
"What's wrong?" I asked as soon as I reached him.
"Nothing. Let's go. I want to go to one more alley before we go somewhere else." He turned away and started to walk. Surely it was nothing.
"Which alley are we going to?"
"Neal's Alley."
"I have heard about that place before. But before we go can we do something?" I wanted to have a picture of the two of us.
"What is it?" He turned back to me and asked.
"Take a selfie with me?" Even though I already have a picture of him, I wanted one together with him.
"Okay let's. But I am taking it." He took my phone from my hand.
"Thank you for asking. Okay you take it." I pretended he asked only making him laugh and that was enough to make my heart flutter.
He took a lot of selfies which made me tired that I actually took my phone back from him and walked ahead on my own. I could hear him laughing from behind. This is what he must have wanted. This is him getting back at me for teasing him. It must be. I remembered the route back to the car and without him in front of me, I was able to find the car. Since it was locked, I had to wait till he reached the car too. Once he was close, he unlocked the car. I got into the car and put the seat belt on.
"Are you angry?" He asked as soon as he got in.
"No." I denied.
"You are. You looked so cute when you are angry." He kept laughing. He must not have realized what he had just said. I looked at him in shock. Maybe that was what made him realize what he had just said. He didn't say anything to change what he just said, instead he just cleared his throat and started to drive again.
The silence was killing me so I started to go through Instagram. The first post I saw was Anna. I miss her so much. It has been three years since I last saw her and my work and Alina have been keeping me extremely busy. The same goes for her. She has also been so busy with her work. Her clinic is very successful now. She also has a husband and child who is keeping her busy. Her son will be turning 2 next month and I have not seen him yet.
"I am sorry." He suddenly said.
"It's okay." I don't even know why I got mad.
"No it's not. You are angry because of me. I am sorry." He said again.
"It's really okay Ethan. I am not mad. Not at all." I wasn't anymore. I didn't want him to feel bad.
"Okay." He nodded more like to convince himself.
Just like planned we stopped at Neal's Alley. It was colorful. I was able to finally stop at a café and grab a warm drink.
After taking pictures in Neal's Alley, we went to Epping Forest. I have always wanted to see the place. I have only seen pictures of the forest that is also in spring. Ethan drove the park into the forest through the drive-through made in the forest. The sight I saw when I got out of the car was breathtaking. Autumn had touched the forest beautifully. The way rays of sunlight were seeping through the trees made it all more beautiful.
The way rays of sunlight were seeping through the trees made it all more beautiful
"It's so beautiful." I was once again left in awe.
"It really is beautiful." Even Ethan agreed. Anyone would agree. Nature is beautiful. And it never fails to show us just how beautiful it is.
Even though the ground was covered with fallen leaves it looked beautiful. I was just lost in the beauty when suddenly I felt my hair being pulled. I almost lost my balance but before I could fall, I felt Ethan hold me. My eyes closed involuntarily when I thought I was about to fall. Even when he made us both stand straight, I still didn't dare open my eyes.
"You can open your eyes now." He whispered, sending a strange feeling throughout my body.
Slowly I opened my eyes meeting his. This was the first time we are standing this close. I could feel his breath brush my lips. He was holding me to him that closely. His hands were securely wrapped around the waist as my hands were on his shoulders. I could feel the warmth radiating from him. Being so close to him was making my knees weak and breathing hard. How I could almost smelt his expensive scented perfume. Never had I been this close to him, we could feel each other heart beats against the walls. I didn't dare to look him in the eyes, instead I looked down on anything that I caught my sight. He used one of his hands to lift my chin, so that he could see me. I was shy, I tried to look away but he held on my chin firmly and I could not move at all. I got lost in his eyes, the very moment our eyes locked.
It was the sound of a car engine that interrupted our moment making us both snap out of the daze and step away from each other immediately. Seem like we are not the only ones here.
That is when I felt that my hair was released from the scarf, I touched the hair to feel that it was no longer tied. What happened?
I was just about to ask when I saw the scarf in Ethan's hand.
"Why did you take it off?" I asked realizing that's why I felt my hair being pulled.
"I have been wanting to take this off. You look beautiful with your hair loose like that." His one compliment shut my mouth immediately. I wasn't at all expecting that.
I felt too shy to say anything. I went back to looking at the scenery. The snap sound from the camera was what made me turn to look at him again. He was looking down at his camera.
"Shall we get going? There is one more place I want to go before we head back home." He led us back to the car.
The silence that was present in the car was a bit awkward. What happened just now. How close we were... I have never felt that before.
In the midst of all the thinking, I didn't even realize when the car stopped until Ethan snapped his fingers in front of me. Startled I looked at him.
"We are here."
I looked outside. I couldn't figure out what the place was since it was extremely dark.
"Where are we?" I asked before I opened the car door and got out.
"The place is called Hampstead Heath. I kept this place as the last destination because I wanted enjoy the night view of London. The land is quite big and where I want to go is just a small part of it. "
Night View of London? I have never seen night view of the city.
I felt Ethan stand beside me. When did he move from the driver's side? He had his phone's flashlight on.
"We have to walk quite far to reach the place. Is that okay?" He asked. I wanted to see the night view so I said yes.
"Let's go." He had started to walk but I couldn't take a step forward. I am scared of walking on an unfamiliar road in the dark.
"Hey what's wrong?" As if he sensed it, he was right next to me once again.
"I am scared of the dark." I didn't want him to know but I don't know why I told him.
"Then just hold my hand." He directed the light to his opened hand. I looked at his hand and at him. Hold his hand?
Hesitated I placed my hand in his. Thanks to the flashlight, I saw how perfectly my hand fit into his. The secure feeling that I got immediately was the most comforting feeling I could get at the moment. Him leading the way, we reached the top. As soon as we did, I was once again awe-strucked. How many times is it today? The lights of the city were shining like golden stars. It was that beautiful. The lights were so bright that I could see Ethan's face without the flashlight. I have never seen the city from this point.
"It's beautiful isn't it?"
I nodded at his question.
There was a bench near to where I was standing, the two of us took a seat to enjoy the view.
"How was today?" Ethan asked.
"80% I don't regret coming out of the house." I still felt sad that I wasn't spending time with my mom and daughter.
"What about the other 20%?" He asked. He must have not expected me to say not 100%.
"There is a reason. But honestly that 80 percent feels like a hundred percent. I enjoyed everything so much. Truly enjoyed. How about you? Were you able to do what you came out to do? And when did you choose destinations? " That was much more important.
"Yeah I was. More than I expected and had planned. And random was the plan but I wanted to see certain places and show you some beautiful places." He looked satisfied.
"That's good then. Thank you for calling me to come out with you. I am glad you did. I really enjoyed it today." There was no reason to hide what I actually wanted to say.
"I am glad too." I looked at him to see that he had a smile on his face.
"Are you hungry?" I asked this time.
"Extremely. You?" He asked back.
"Extremely. Can we have dinner before heading back to our homes?" Along with hunger I felt tired too. My stomach was growling too much to wait until I get home.
"Yes definitely. Want to sit here a bit more or leave now?"
"Just a little while more. I don't know when I will get to see this view again." I wanted to watch it, enjoy it as much as I can. And it wasn't just the view that I wanted to enjoy. It was sitting here with Ethan. I don't know when will a day come again when I can sit with him like this. Only if something would happen to make this night more special and more memorable.
Just as the thought came and left me suddenly rain started to fall heavily. Ethan stood up immediately to go to the car but I just sat in the rain.
"Eileen let's go!" I heard him yell through the heavy rain. Unlike someone I know, his yell didn't have anger in it. It was a worry. Worry for me.
I pretend I didn't hear him. Happy, I stood up. Instead of going to take cover in the car, I extended my arms in the air and twirled around facing up. The raindrops hit my face making me laugh like a little girl. Growing up, I have always loved the rain, even if the next day I have a bad cold.
My alone moment was short-lived when I felt someone take my hand and pull me towards him. When his hand touched mine I knew who it was. The feeling that he gives me is something I have never felt before.
I crashed to him for the second time today. I felt his hand let go of mine. I thought he was letting me go, but my thoughts were proven wrong. I felt his hand on the side of the waist and slowly wrap around my waist. I fit perfectly into his arm. He pulled me closer if it's possible. All this time neither of us looked away.
A heavy breath left me when I felt his hand on my cheek. I couldn't stop the sigh that left me. I saw the look in his eyes change. It affected me in a way that took me by surprise. I felt his touch. I felt him get close to me more and more. Involuntarily my eyes closed. But as I closed my eyes and that moment when I felt his breath on my lips and I got reminded of everything. What I am about to do isn't me. This is not how I am. The loud voices at the back of my head screamed at me making me pull away from his touch in panic. This is wrong. And I can't do it.
Leaving a shocked Ethan standing, I ran to the car.
What was I about to do?
