Qiu Qiu surveyed the people standing in front of her, watching them with a disdainful smile.
She and several of her fellow disciples from the sect had travelled out to complete a demonic task. Although the task was not difficult, it could not be considered easy either. With the combined efforts of everyone, they had managed to finish it without meeting too much danger; however, just as they had began to relax, the several cultivators who had tailed them the entire journey now appeared, ready to snatch away their hard-earned treasures.
Not only did these people covet the treasures that Qiu Qiu and the others carried on them, they also coveted Qiu Qiu herself.
Qiu Qiu knew very clearly why they wanted her. In her previous life she had also been at irreconcilable odds with them, and had eventually been severely wounded during a conflict. With her meridians damaged, she had lost any chance of becoming an Immortal.
Now that she had reincarnated and learned the demonic arts, she was easily capable of defeating them. However, she decided to lay down instead, feigning death…
Her fellow disciples believed that she had suffered a serious injury, and became even more enraged. As they bitterly grappled with the enemy, Qiu Qiu only thought to herself — the sky is so blue…
The young disciples from the sect were no match for these more experienced cultivators. Not long later, they had all suffered varying degrees of injury. The opposing side fought with one eye focused on the battle and the other focused on the leisurely relaxing beauty on the side. As they watched, their yelling became louder.
Just as these little disciples were unable to continue for any longer, Qiu Qiu caught wind of a curious fragrance.
As that curious fragrance entered her nose, Qiu Qiu raised her lips, her smile becoming wanton.
She decided to stop playing dead for any longer. Immediately, she stood up, turning around just as a white tiger mount appeared on top of the summit, followed by a procession of maids.
The rider of the white tiger was completely white from head to toe, with long hair that floated haphazardly in the wind. She wore a severe, icy expression without a single trace of warmth, resembling a millennium old glacier.
Qiu Qiu suppressed the emotion that threatened to swell inside of her, but instead stared just as before towards the other.
The Qian clan's Grandmistress Qian.
The demonic cultivator Qian clan could be considered to be the family at the forefront of demonic cultivation. Before, demonic cultivation was only considered a small denomination of the Taoist cultivation path. While demonic cultivators were lustful and unrestricted, they were not the type to willfully slaughter the innocent and engage in senseless violence. However, many purists in the cultivation world hated the demonic nature of these cultivators. They slandered demonic cultivators, claiming that they were demons and bringers of calamity. At the time, Grandmistress Qian did not bother to acknowledge these people. It wasn't until a beautiful fairy cultivator who had gotten close to Qian was brutally murdered that Qian began take to action, leading the demonic cultivators in a ceaseless war against the cultivation world.
In the past, when Qiu Qiu's meridians had been damaged, Grandmistress Qian had been the one to save her. Soon after, Qiu Qiu was ordered to serve as a mole in the Qian clan, and to cultivate in the demonic path.
Now, with the cultivation from her previous life, she could be considered to be on the same level as this Grandmistress Qian.
Grandmistress Qian raised her hand. With a loud bang!, the fellow sect disciples exploded into a bloody mist of flesh and blood.
Qiu Qiu didn't pay attention to the events around her. Her gaze remained on that cold face suspended in the air.
With a carefree smile, she said, "Qiu Qiu surrenders and pays allegiance to the Qian clan!"
Qiu Qiu didn't have a single worry. She knew that Grandmistress Qian would definitely bring her back with her.
Oh, you may ask?
It was because Grandmistress Qian liked her face!
Qiu Qiu had an extremely beautiful appearance. With her long, ink-black hair, it was easy to mistake her as a celestial fairy from the heavens. Although her face was a bit aloof, she was always smiling, giving her a gentle, warm impression.
Of course, in reality she was completely blackened.
Grandmistress Qian looked at her coldly, her eyes fixated on Qiu Qiu's face. It really was the same as the previous life.
Impatiently, Grandmistress Qian beckoned her to come closer.
Qiu Qiu had never had a chance to study the sword in her previous life, nor did she have any knowledge in this one. Therefore, she could only fumble her way towards Grandmistress Qian.
Grandmistress Qian pulled out a whip, flinging it out and throwing it around Qiu Qiu's waist. It seemed she intended to fly her as a kite.
Hehe.
In her past life, even when she had been close to death, Grandmistress Qian had brought her back like this too.
…like a kite, Qiu Qiu was flown in the air for about an hour. When they finally landed, she was quick to stand up, shaking out her wrinkled robes.
Turning around, she saw Grandmistress Qian watching her, an amused expression on her face.
Grandmistress Qian had travelled this time to kill a person. It was said that this outing was likely related to the past killing of Grandmistress Qian's lover, the fairy cultivator. During this time in her previous life, all of Qiu Qiu's energy had been exhausted from being suspended in the air, so she wasn't too clear on the details. All she knew was that Grandmistress Qian had travelled to the wood faction's auction, where they had been confronted and then forced to retreat back to the demonic land by a crowd of killing-intent filled cultivators.
This time around, just as before, Qiu Qiu tagged along. Grandmistress Qian also brought along her white tiger and a few subordinates.
The cultivation world had eight factions: gold, wood, water, fire, earth, jade, silver, and stone. These eight factions united together against the demonic path.
Within the city there were many sect disciples. However, a smattering of rogue cultivators also existed. Alongside the streets, many people sold cultivation manuals, jade stones, weapons, and the like. Grandmistress Qian, as the illustrious and magnificent head of demonic cultivation, swaggered around the city with a pale-robed maid and the recently recruited Qiu Qiu in tow.
Hehe, the last time she had entered the city like this in her previous life, she had been covered with blood.
The wood faction's auction was considered to be the best auction within the city. Qiu Qiu considered buying a double-sided sword, but backed off with the sad realization that she didn't have any money. She considered outright snatching it — however, seeing Grandmistress Qian head into the auction building, she had no choice but to follow.
Getting a number for the auction required a deposit of jade stones. By the time they had entered the building, the auction was already on its fifth item. An extraordinarily beautiful woman was describing the items being sold with extreme vigor.
When the three of them had finally found seats, the topic had already changed to the sixth item.
Coincidentally, it was exactly the kind of double-sided sword Qiu Qiu had been looking for. The sword blade was made of a pale silver metal, while the handle was embedded with many blue precious stones, making it gorgeous to look at.
Qiu Qiu looked at the sky-high price and its flashy exterior, and deduced that this kind of sword was only good for getting a girl to like you. But… it really was gorgeous!
"Do you like it?" Suddenly, a cold voice spoke from beside her.
Qiu Qiu turned her head, looking at Grandmistress Qian's cold face. She shook her head.
"Mm." Grandmistress Qian seemed satisfied with her answer. She gave a cold nod of agreement. Once again, just as suddenly, she said, "It's trash."
Hearing this, Qiu Qiu suddenly smiled.
The auction continued. The seventh item was a cultivation manual. The host of the auction changed to a young man.
This young man began to describe the manual to the crowd. Apparently, it was a female-oriented manual that his family had happened to chance upon.
Qiu Qiu bit her lip, noticing how Grandmistress Qian's aura seemed to grow even more cold when she saw the man. She blinked, then realized that Grandmistress Qian was looking at her. Her gaze was frigid enough to pierce skin.
Grandmistress Qian: "Go, kill him."
Qiu Qiu heard those words.
Suddenly, she thought back to her previous life. Whenever Grandmistress Qian ordered her to kill someone, she never gave a reason, nor did her tone change in any manner. Instead, she determined the status of someone's life or death as if it meant nothing to her.
Before, she had believed Grandmistress Qian and demonic cultivators to be wicked and evil. She had returned Grandmistress Qian's love and affection with betrayal, until she had harmed to death the other party, as well as herself.
Qiu Qiu looked away from Grandmistress Qian's gaze, lowering her head as she coldly smiled.
The previous her had really been loved.
As for now, she had already long forsaken the righteous path. She had smashed apart the three Taoist virtues of being a person with her own hands.
Now, when Grandmistress Qian ordered her to kill someone, she didn't even hesitate to leap onto the stage.
For such a beautiful young woman to suddenly appear on the stage was an unusual enough occurrence. The entire auditorium burst into hushed whispering.
Qiu Qiu smiled at the young man.
Her smile was kind enough that the young man did not feel that she was suspicious, and even smiled in turn to courteously invite her off the stage. However, before he could even finish his words, he realized that the young woman was standing right in front of him. Afterwards, he knew no more.
Qiu Qiu had cleaved his head in two with her bare hands!
The entire auditorium fell into a hushed terror.
The security in the auction was quick to react. Immediately, cultivators began to use cultivation techniques against Qiu Qiu. Qiu Qiu wasn't interested in fighting, focusing more of her attention on fleeing.
A long whip suddenly wrapped around her waist, pulling her away and off the stage.
The crowd became full of confusion and disorder.
Suddenly, a person screamed that Qiu Qiu was a demonic cultivator. Hearing this, the killing intent directed towards her grew even stronger. The only goal of a righteous cultivator was to eliminate the demonic cultivators!
Meeting a demonic cultivator meant killing on sight!
Qiu Qiu, who was now flying in the air like a kite again, looked at the crowd below her with a sneer.
Shameless!
