Once the door was closed, Nick leaned on it. he stared at the raging rain and the strong wind and a tear fell from his eyes.
He realized what he had done. That look in her eyes when she saw him tremble in fear, squeezed his heart. He remembered that Meg had always tried to scare her away but every time she tried, he always managed to coax her coldness and her selfish and terrifying aura away by hugging her or loving her, monopolizing her. He knew that the more she tried to be harsh, the more she was softer from inside.
Now that he thought about all those times, he realized that she always forget about everything when he stayed fiercer than her. She even easily softened when he hugged him tightly like he never wanted to let go. So why didn't he hug him that time? Why did he let him go? Why did he let his fear beat him?
But when he had seen her face and her eyes that were full of flames he was not able to control his fears.
