Chapter 82 - Fifth member

The week passed away and the Sunday arrived.

The four of them went for the evaluations at around 7 o'clock in the morning just like before.

They performed the group performance first, then, everyone performed solo. Jun went last for their sake.

"Oh, Park Hyo Shin's Wildflower? Now, that's a surprise." YG thought to himself when he heard Jun's choice. Just a week ago, Producer Teddy compared him to the singer after watching the viral video.

The contents of their meetings were kept confidential for the past week. So, there's no way Jun would have known unless some netizen probably comment about it and he might have seen it, then, decided to sing his song after becoming too full of himself because of sudden fame. Either that or it's just a pure coincidence.

Jun sat at the piano and started to play while slowly started singing.

"A white ice flower that bloomed

Puts its face out in the welcoming wind

It sheds tears over the wordless and nameless past

Hiding in the cold wind

Melting down under the single ray of sunlight

That's how you came to me once more"

Wildflower is an emotional song, tells about a wildflower that blooms in the winter, facing all the harshness of the cold. While it may wilt, it will bloom again despite all the struggles it faces.

While the original song is a metaphor used to tell the story of the singer himself, the lyrics of the song also apply to Jun as well. At least, that was he thought as he chose it.

As the song has indirect meaning, the cameramen, Daniel, and the choreographer Lee were saved from getting too emotional but the songwriters like Hanbin, Suga, and YG felt it.

It's just for a moment, but somewhere in the halfway, Suga, for the first time, tears up before wiping it away. Thankfully, no one paid attention to him.

After the evaluations are over, both of them stood up and YG praised everyone that they did a good job.

Just as he was about to leave the room, he turned around as if he remembered something important, "I forgot to inform you something. After observing you for the past four weeks, the management had decided to extend your group to 5-members in order to balance your team a bit.

The members of Big Bang are basically working on solo projects. GD is also going to enlist in the military. It's very unlikely they will have any comeback apart from duo collabs.

So, we thought it would be better if we launch a 5-member group instead of going with four. It would also give a public image that you are their successors. Of course, it comes with great responsibility too. There will be pressure but I'm confident that all of you will handle it together."

"Eh? 5?" Jun and the others looked at each other in surprise.

YG continued, "The member has already been selected. He will meet you directly at the dorm. Try to get along with him."

Soon, they left the building in wonder.

Daniel started complaining that the company is doing whatever they want without their opinion. "First they say 4 when signing the contract and now, they say 5…"

"The number of members isn't written in group contract," Suga reminded him, right away. He further added, "If they can delay the debut indefinitely, they can change the group members or numbers too. Nothing surprise there."

"Yeah," Hanbin agreed with a nod.

Jun, on the other hand, said, "No wonder we have six bedrooms in the mansion. Five for us, and one for the manager."

Realization dawned upon everyone. Daniel asked, "So, from the start, they plan on forming a five-member group?"

Jun didn't have an answer to that. Until now, like the others, he actually assumed the other free room is either for personal security guards in case some crazy fan breaks in or t might be for other managers. Since each of them was also contracted to the company as solo artists too, they will also have their own respective managers.

Jun didn't think too much about it but never in the world did he expect that YG was planning for the five-member group all along and just didn't implement it because of the fifth member's contract issue.

Since his current focus was on his Solo career, Jun didn't put too much attention on it and calmly returned to his room, showered again before leaving with the manager for the usual Sunday Mass. Manager Seon is also a Christian, although not as religious as Jun and seldom visits the Church. But, with the presence of Jun, he had to go there every week now.

He returned by noon and found an unexpected person sitting with the others in the living room, having a conversation with Hanbin will all smiles. In one glance, he was handsome, alright.

After discovering Jun and manager Seon's presence, he stood up. He appeared to be at the same height as him but have this air of a model to him. Jun knew his counterpart from the otherworld but that guy is majorly known for being an actor despite being an idol.

Nevertheless, Jun greeted him with a smile, "Hello, are you the new housemate."

The man bowed slightly with a smile, "Hello, I'm Lee Dong Min. Stage name, Cha Eun Woo."

The day passed away and the temporary leadership once again rotated to Hanbin as Cha Eunwoo was new.

Of course, Hanbin didn't change his way of doing things as he believed it is the right thing to do.

During the week, Jun found Eunwoo to completely lag behind them at the start. Poor guy even felt tortured by Hanbin's obsession for perfect choreography and singing but Eunwoo was also a professional singer and was once a trainee who went through such hardships too.

Neither Suga nor Daniel could understand why the management is doing this. In their hearts, they acknowledge that Cha Eunwoo is indeed a visual, probably at the same level or looks slightly better than Jun, they even admit that he is a good singer, a good dancer, and a good actor too, but they couldn't understand his role in the team.

Hanbin and Suga can interchange their positions as main rapper and sub-rapper. At the same time, Hanbin can interchange his positions with Daniel as the main dancer or dancer, but the team's main vocalist cannot be changed from Jun.

Neither Eunwoo can take the position of main/lead vocalist or main dancer, nor can he be a main/sub rapper. With Jun on the team, there's no need for a visual too. That means he cannot take the center stage.

Seeing the progress of his genius teammates, Eunwoo admitted that he was slacking off lately because of Music core and other shootings and all but eventually, he grits his teeth and intensely practiced, catching up with everyone, soon enough.

The week passed away and the fifth evaluation is here.

It went smoothly just like the first-week evaluation but Daniel and Suga were a bit discontent with his method. The previous week, they had fun fighting for the parts but suddenly, they lost the freedom to choose their parts or the dancing positions. Who would be happy with it?

Well, Hanbin didn't do anything wrong. Everyone has their own way and if one gets great results from their methods, then, they wouldn't think it was wrong either.

In this situation, one can only say that he was unlucky to take the position of team leader after Jun.

Either way, the members won't remember it too much as the first five evaluations are done and they were going to get back to normal days of training.

In the meantime, Jun's solo debut date is getting near. So, he is going to get busy with preparations.
