Do you remember my/our existential crisis about the two bodies thing as babies? Well apparently when you actually start things like brain development the weird connection develops too. Granted it could be because we've accepted that we're not Noah anymore, but our bet is on not being a tiny waste of space anymore.
A little fun fact about being two people at the same time, it's very odd. There's technically only one person but processed through two brains. This makes things complicated and easier to handle at the same time.
Why? Take multitasking for an example. For a normal person it's like splitting your concentration to do two things at a 50-80% efficiency instead of one thing at 100%. For us it's like we're splitting our concentration to do both things at 100% efficiency but on a bigger scale.
We have the processing power of two people with their own thoughts. But here's the complicated part, we don't think humans are meant to process things this way. Whenever we try to feel the exact mechanics behind this whole two people thing we end up with what feels like a severe panic attack and a headache. Thank goodness this happened while we were tiny infants or else things could've gotten bad.
The panic attacks of course is not a good thing, so after several failed attempts we decided to give up and go with the flow. Now as I said in that rant earlier we are fundamentally one person. At our core we're the man who was formerly called Noah, but we put on masks to be Lin Yue and Lin Yun. Yes we know this sounds severely unhealthy but It's not the kind of mask most people think of. It's the kind where's it's like 'yes this is me but there's more that I can show you' kind of mask, the ones most people wear in society. Also I'm pretty sure most people would develop at least some sort of multiple personality disorder in this situation so we're definitely not the weird ones here.
So that's why no one has suspected that we're not exactly the most normal of people, it also helps that we're twins and are expected to act similarly, Societal stereotypes for the win. Why are we mentioning this now? It's because teacher Zhao has been staring at us for the past ten minutes. Yes we are very nervous right now and yes we are currently scared for our lives but the way we show it is different. Lin Yun has gotten more and more tense as the minuets go by but his poker face was kept immaculate while Lin Yue's bright simile was getting more and more strained but her body language is still relaxed.
Now to normal people that would show a difference in personality and natural temperament with Lin Yun being more serious and cold and Lin Yue being more laid back and friendly. We are not normal people, we just split our stress response in two. I think Teacher Zhao might have noticed that due to his face because more contemplative, that's what's the source of 80% of our anxiety actually.
