Nie AnAn froze under Huo YanXiao's words.
She was sure that when she pulled her hand back, it still had Nie ChengFeng's hairs inside of it.
The silver lining of it all was that Huo YanXiao wasn't able to see her frozen look in the dark.
In reality, Huo YanXiao pretty much let her go as soon as he finished asking his question.
As much as she couldn't see him, she could still feel that his aura was quickly decreasing.
Nie AnAn sighed to herself. All the work that she had put in in the last few days to get onto his good side was probably just wiped clean.
But she only felt sorry for herself for a very brief moment before she was over it.
She was in a plane accident in her previous life. Most likely, she didn't even have a body left anymore. Even if she could find a way to go back to where she came with, she'd probably just be a ghost.
And here, even though she was inside a book, things didn't seem to follow exactly how it was depicted originally.
Even though the original owner had died a horrible death in the book, she could just be careful and avoid any possibilities that could lead to that ending, right?
Having figured that out, Nie AnAn felt that the most pressing thing right now was for her to become a certified nutritionist, have her own job, and become financially independent.
As for her real identity, she didn't necessarily need to find her real family, but she'd like to know the truth one way or another.
She put away the hairs carefully. The best she could do right now was to pretend that nothing had happened and waited for the one minute to pass.
Huo YanXiao seemed to have shuffled a bit behind her and, immediately after that and before Nie AnAn could react to it, a soft body bummed into her.
And, at the same time, an arm wrapped around her neck and someone planted a kiss onto her forehead.
That person seemed to have misjudged her height by a little. Instead of her lips, the person kissed her on her forehead.
Nie AnAn had goosebumps all of a sudden and wanted to push the person away. The person seemed to have recollected herself immediately and her lips left her forehead right away.
And that was when the lights came back on.
Nie AnAn, looking at Qin Ziyi that was hanging around her neck, was speechless.
She thought her target was Nie ChengFeng. Why did it seem like she was trying to kiss Huo YanXiao?
Apparently, Qin Ziyi was quite embarrassed herself. She let go to Nie AnAn and grumbled, "How come I run into you no matter who it was that I wanted to kiss?"
Her voice was very low, and Nie AnAn couldn't make out what she had said. And when she wanted to get closer to figure out what she was saying, she saw Qin ZiMing walking toward them.
He walked in front of Qin Ziyi, smiled and said, "What happened, Xiao Yi?"
"Nothing," said Qin Ziyi, looking aggrieved.. "Big brother, her and I are always getting into each other's way…"
"Is that so?" asked Qin ZiMing as he turned, looked at Nie AnAn, and smiled, "Miss, there's lipstick mark on your forehead.'
Nie AnAn, "..."
This was the first time she had lipstick mark left on her face by a woman. She knew nothing good could come out of being close to this pair of siblings.
Nie AnAn walked back toward Huo YanXiao, but she could clearly sense that he didn't want to engage with her. In fact, there seemed to be slight distastefulness and irritation in the way he was looking at her.
Was it because he thought the only reason she wanted Nie ChengFeng's hair was to have a DNA test, return to the Nie's, and marry Qin ZiMing for the union between the two families?
Nie AnAn couldn't think of any other possibilities, but at the same time, she also had doubts. Did that mean Huo YanXiao had always had an inkling that she might be Nie ChengFeng's sister?
