Chapter 1 - A God knock on the door

Alex awoke from his nap, feeling his eyes he moved the dust forming around them to see the timer he set on his phone.

"Good Afternoon Alex, the time is 7:45pm..Would you like to hear the evening news?"

"No thank you Elora" He grimly replied.

Alex threw his legs off his bed and slowly brought himself to sit up on his bed, thoroughly not looking forward to starting his night shift at work. He got up, pushing away cans and food wrappings with his feet. He sat down on a white plastic chair while he gazed at the city skylines from his downtown studio apartment. Feeling his head, he was about to fall asleep again on the table when three knocks came on his door. He got up warily, not expecting it to be good news due his loner lifestyle.

"Who is it?"

"Loki." A calm voice responded.

Alex chuckled "What can I do for you Odin's son?"

"Actually it's what I can do for you Alex." Loki spoke.

Half angry and half confused Alex opened the door to find a man in his 30s with a small girl hanging onto his side. He was wearing a brown heavy bomber jacket, a white shirt underneath and a slightly tight fit of black jeans. The man looked as ordinary as any other except for his jet black hair which was combed all back. The girl looked to only be about four or five, he could not see her face clearly as her head was buried in the man's jacket. Alex could see long blonde hair and a bright white dress.

Bewildered, Alex stood there expecting the man to speak.

"May I come inside?" Loki said.

"Sure, sorry about the mess... I'm sorry can I ask what's this about?" Alex reluctantly said.

"I will if you let me inside."

Alex reluctantly stepped to the side to let the odd pair inside. As they entered he sat the girl down on his sofa where a cartoon was playing at low volume.

Loki walked and sat down at one end of his small dining table on the opposite side of the room and waved a hand for Alex to sit. Alex closed the door and strutted over, sat and just stared at the man before him.

"Sorry about the intrusion, I thought it would be best to come see you and offer this deal in person." Loki said.

Still confused, Alex asked "Can I ask what's all this about? I've seen pranks but they're not usually like this."

"Yes I'll get to that but you must swear by Odin that you will not speak of this if you refuse my offer." Loki sternly said.

"Sure, I swear by Odin I will not speak of this?"

"Brilliant Alex we may begin."

Loki cleared his throat almost ready for a speech. "I'm going to offer you a deal that no one in this realm has been offered before, purely because I'm bored and need something to watch while I'm looking after my dear child Lily" Loki said finishing with a scowl.

"Ok, but I thought Loki only had one daughter and her name was Hel." Alex said, still thinking this is a joke.

"I can understand that you may not believe me." Loki sighed and looked down. "Yes, unfortunately Odin decided that he may play a joke. In which the old man tricked me into bedding a human mortal and cursed me to look after this child."

"Because of this curse I cannot do the usual... mischief that I am used to and need some sort of entertainment while I care for my new half-mortal daughter. I've chosen you to go to the land of Arios in The Gods Realm and do what you wish while I watch." The god sighed."Do you like girls with cat-ears?" Asked Loki.

Alex raised an eyebrow, contemplating his sanity. "I mean who doesn't like cat-girls, but you're seriously offering me to go to some fantasy land like Game of Thrones or something?"

"Yes pretty much, rather this world is more unique than Game of Thrones and can offer a lot more than Daenerys Targaryen." Loki said with a wink.

Carrying on from his lewd comment. "It's practically what you would call a video game except it's a lot more in detail. Of course it has goblins and cat-girls that you would usually find. But this world was actually created from merging parts of planets from different realms millenia upon millenia ago. This was made by the gods of different pantheons to create a place where all gods can be in one place, and all strings of unknown can be pulled into one."

Alex soaked up the information like a sponge and said "So you're saying that all different pantheons exist in this new world." Alex paused "What about Earth?"

Loki cleared his throat again "Most gods have left this world since 'Mr Christ' came into it, we are still allowed to enter but many of us fear him due to his abundant followers, and yes most of the gods moved to this new realm where they are able to influence how many people follow them based on their popularity in previous realms."

Alex was still absorbing this information. "What about Zeus, you met the guy?" Alex chuckled nervously to deal with this new situation.

"Yes a few times a bit of an arsehole really, that's why Thor gets on very well with him." Loki replied.

"The reason I chose you Alex." Loki said pointing at Alex's chest "Is that you have very unique blood, you are the descendant of a spartan commander. Now this is not a very unusual trait but you also have viking blood which I cannot see to identify the origin but know of its kind. This is very unique and that's why when I was looking for a suitable candidate, you fit the slot perfectl."

Alex spoke back sharply "But why, you say that my blood is unique, I've always been a good fighter but never the best."

"But you do not know the benefits of these specific bloodlines." Loki spoke back in a passive aggressive voice. "Because of this I can genetically modify parts of your DNA to enhance some of your capabilities further because your unique genetic makeup acts as a very good template."

Loki looked at Alex who was waiting for the man to speak but he stood there still looking and processing. "Carrying on, I can definitely and definately elvish blood and either orc or troll. Either is up to you but I would add troll as it doesn't seem to change your appearance, rather than an orc which would give you some uncomfortable tusks."

"Well I'll take your word for it." Alex replied.

"So you want me to travel somehow to this realm where I can live out my deepest desires?" Alex softly spoke

"Exactly!" Loki's voice boomed through Alex's apartment, startling the girl who poked her head up from his couch. She had bright blue eyes and was very cute, which made Alex wish he had a young daughter.

"Can you also change how I look and give me some sorta newbie starter kit?" Alex was now realising this potential of a new life which would hopefully be better than his already worthless existence.

"Yes of course, I would also recommend to be transported to Ervos in the Land of the Free and capital of the Joint Kingdoms of the Independent."

"Why there?" Alex questioned.

"Well you know slavery and sorts is abundant in the the Empire of Bolgros and you being a chimera would definately not go down well with them." Loki casually said.

"Yeah I understand, being a chimera sounds cool though. Why would the gods allow slavery, I assume most gods are all loving and would smite the leaders or something." Alex said in curiosity.

"Good question." Loki stated, which seemed to put him in a good mood.

"Gods can not directly interfere with big scale kingdoms. Even so the gods that the Empire follows openly allow that the strong prey on the weak. This often involves large scale culling or slavery."

"Like Nazi's!" Alex proclaimed, yet again startling the young child who is happily going through his cupboards raiding all the sweets she can find. Alex could not care for the young lass as his thoughts were racing and it's not like he is poor.

Loki chuckled. "Exactly like Nazi's, so you understand all this. The Gods Realm, Gods in general, and Arios?"

"I mean yes of course it sounds amazing but can I ask to see some sort of magic, you say you're a god and I'd like to believe you but to me none of this seems real." At this point his brain was telling him that this was all fake and his knowledge of basic physics solidly backed up his claims that magic did not exist.

"Tilt your head back slightly Alex." Loki said in an authoritarian manner.

Alex did just that. To his amazement Loki began to write in mid air. It was black where the writing was and what seemed like golden sparks encasing the edges of the lines within this strange symbol. A rune! Alex has seen his fair share of fantasy movies to know what this was. Loki then seemed to guide the ruin with his hand which was slowly floating towards my throat, not really caring if it killed him or not. Alex flung his arms to his side to somewhat embrace the mysterious rune. As it approached his throat felt warm, then it began to burn, hotter and hotter. Until the pain went away and a small tattoo formed above his collar bone. He ran to the mirror in the bathroom and checked it out. It was rectangular and looked like an open book. What would his late parents think of him getting a tattoo? Alex internally laughed and smiled staring at himself, magic was real. Better yet he was going to a fantasy realm, with cat-girls. He was about to thank the lord when he just realised that a god was currently sitting at the table on the room next to him. And so he thanked Loki the God of Mischief.

"Did you just pray to me boy?" he heard Loki say.

"I would just rather pray to you than 'Mr Christ' you call him." Alex said as he walked back in grinning from ear to ear.

"Now try to speak french." Loki stated.

Alex looked at him confused, then realised a floating magic rune invaded his throat a second ago.

"Je ne parle pas français." Alex said utterly confused yet he perfectly understood what he just said.

"What do you mean you can't speak french you speak it perfectly and with barely a sign of a foriegn accent." Loki gleefully said smiling.

"Holy Fuck!" Alex shouted barely containing himself in front of a god's daughter. He then closed his eyes, expecting to be deleted from existence until he looked at Loki with one eye open who stood uncaring of his foul mouth.

"Oh don't worry about language she's deaf. She heard us shouting before through the vibrations she felt in the air." Loki said still with a normal expression.

"I'm sorry to hear about that, can't you fix it with some sort of magic?" Alex questioned.

Loki just looked down. "No no, the magic my daughter has inflicted on her is a powerful curse. One of the reasons why the All Father did that to me is to be working to try and relieve her of that curse."

This made Alex sad but he knew he could not help. There was no way he could cure a god's curse.

Loki seeing Alex's face quickly snapped him out of it "So we need to sort all this out, first I'm going to need some of your blood."

Alex looked at him in horror.

"Alex I'm no vampire it's for the changing of your genetic bloodline, I'll change the blood you give me just to make sure it works then I'll be able to change you."

Loki paused.

"If you give me some blood now you can go say goodbyes and grab some precious belongings for you to take with you, don't change clothes as I'll have to make them for your new body." Loki ordered

Without hesitation Alex said "I have no family or precious belongings."

Alex then thought 'Cigarettes!', he probably won't be able to deal with the nicotine withdrawals or maybe the new world will have cigarettes.

"Can you make something never run out with runes and such?" Alex asked.

Loki looked at him then smiled. "Yes of course I can, but it heavily depends on what it is."

"How about a pack of cigarettes?" He asked.

"Yes of course, give me some of your blood then grab a packet."

Loki smiled while bringing out a pitch black dagger, Alex walked over to him and outstretched his hand. Loki moved the dagger gently across his palm, Alex winced but stayed still. His blood was moving in the half pipe shape to the bottom of the shaft where Loki held out a glass bottle with golden engraved lines around the outside . When the small bottle was full he tasted the blood at the last drop.

"Wow that's definitely viking blood."

"Good to hear." He grunted through gritted teeth.

Loki summoned a white rag and chucked it to him. Alex caught it swiftly and began to hurriedly wrap it around his hand.

Loki produced a bowl with silver engravings covering the outside and another two vials with the same look as the one with his blood in. Alex quickly went to grab a packet of cigarettes from his coat pocket so he could watch.

He could see Loki's daughter munching on a big bowl of cereal while watching some old cartoons. She was humming and tapping her heels on the side of the side of the sofa without a care in the world. He just smiled and snapped his focus back onto this magical experiment Loki was about to perform.

"So the troll blood is from the Troll Prince of the north in Arios. His father Ur Kros, gave Odin a portion of it which I then stole from the vault in Asgard. It would be best if you kept this to yourself as I don't want another punishment. This Blood will give you hard skin and ridiculous regeneration rates."

Loki swirled the troll blood in a circle, before carrying on.

"The elf blood is from an elite elf scout who offered me some of his blood to increase his affinity with shadow magic. This should make you more agile, as well as other enhanced features such as sense of smell and eyesight."

Loki then poured small drops from each vile into the bowl. The silver engravings glowed then died down.

"Wonderful!" Loki exclaimed.

He looked at Alex grinnining.

"Ok, now all you need to do is lie down on the floor and close your eyes, what I'm about to do has a chance to permanently scar your brain as I will be in my true form. One look at me and you will most probably fall into madness."

Alex swallowed the lump in his throat and layed down on the cold floor expecting his final moments of life to be soon. He closed his eyes and hoped for the best.

Loki stood over him and turned into mist, dark smiles and tentacles loomed over Alex as both separate groups of blood began to pour down his throat.

Alex's whole body began to burn and burn, he could feel his muscles and bones break and reform themselves. The cells in his body individually breaking down and changing, he could feel his ears stretching slightly and his teeth becoming sharper. Alex had never felt pain like this, he knew it was going to hurt but never to this extent. After ten seconds the pain in his body dissipated and he began to feel better, better than he ever felt before.

"Open your eyes Alex." He heard Loki say.

Alex opened his eyes and saw the man sitting back in his chair and the little demi-god sitting on his lap.

He got up ran over to the mirror in his room and looked over his new body. What stared back at him was not himself, Alex looked younger by almost by ten years. He was slightly paler than his original dark skinned body and had medium length messy black hair which took a slight red tinge. His jaw had more shape along with his cheekbones which matched. His eyes a whitish blue colour and more attuned with the rest of his face. 'My body!' Alex thought and ripped off his shirt which was already stretched.

He barely had an ounce of fat on him, he wasn't exactly in the best of shape before yet his body looked like he had been doing body exercises his whole life. His muscles were only slightly bigger yet much more defined. Alex looked at least a couple inches taller than his original height of six feet and one inches. And of course Alex checked his dick, how could he not. 'A couple inches longer and a little bit more girth, not bad.' he thought.

Alex really envied the trolls now. He walked out smiling like a child and went over to Loki who was eating one of his store bought lunches.

"What do you think mighty god Loki?" He bowed with a smile and looked at the two. If he was already a god, Alex thought of him more than one.

"Pretty spectacular, you're definitely going to have a high charisma stat, Lilith can barely take her eyes off of you. Oh and I also got you some clothes and a 'Bag of Holding' to hold your stuff." Loki handed him over the little pouch in which Alex miraculously pulled out some clothes out of it.

Alex asked "Wow is this space magic?"

"Yes, although expensive, many people have them."

Alex went back into his bedroom to get changed and look at his new body including his overly large genitals. He came out with dark grey leather armour on and a pitch black cloak ending in the midway of his shins.

"Wow I really feel the part now." Alex said as he sat down at the table.

"Now I'm going to transfer energy from the system of Arios inside you. Before I do, would you like to change your name before you get there? It'll just be costly because you need a high quality 'Mind Wipe' potion."

Alex thought deeply for a moment, his name was always common quite common.

"Is it wrong to name yourself after gods or people from different Pantheons?" Alex asked.

"No it is surprisingly common, of course most people won't name their kids Medusa or Baldur but other smaller figures in the pantheons are widely recommended. Some names you'll find are unique, others are like the ones on Earth. You thought of one?"

"Yeah..." Alex said rubbing his chin and looking into nothing. "How about Morpheus Nvos, the name Morpheus sounds cool and Morpheus is a figure who appears in people's dreams correct?"

"Correct, and Morpheus is rather a nice name." And Nvos?" Loki Asked.

"I think it's from a book, regardless it sounds cool" Alex Chirped.

"So Morpheus Nvos it is." Loki said as a white glowing energy began to form in his hands very gently, the white energy grew into a ball and floated into Morpheus who stood still in anticipation. The white energy vanished into Morpheus as he looked around confused until a blue monitor with silver outlines appeared in front of him.

"Holy fucking shit" Morpheus shouted as he stood up. "I'm so over-powered."

Loki's look brought him back to reality, well even that had just changed.

Before he could ask about his age Loki interrupted him.

"Not yet, you have to level up your classes and learn skills before you go on challenging a dwarven dungeon you idiot." Loki Growled "First you need to organise your status screen  to display just your health, stamina and mana. Then you should be able to think of a clock and one should appear in the right top corner of your interface. Once you've done that, make sure that any notification that pops up about levels or skills will be in the bottom left hand corner of your screen. All you have to do is think about what you want to do."

"This is key to fighting, as I'm sure you don't want something taking up your whole view when fighting a 'wolog'." Loki said.

Morpheus did what Loki asked and then sat down. The sudden rush of emotions over the past hour has caused himself a lifetime of stress

"Why does it say I'm fourteen when I'm twenty-five?" Morpheus asked.

"When we upgraded your DNA the longevity of the elves and the healing from the troll has caused you to decrease in age. Therefore, practically making you immortal. You can obviously die by being pulverised to nothing but your age will not matter. Also increasing in stats and level can also increase your lifespan."

He paused and took a breath.

"A level '200 Main Class Healer' could easily live over a thousand years, regardless of their race." Loki said.

"Wow this feels amazing." Morpheus said. "Why doesn't everyone become chimeras?" He asked Loki.

"Because it can't be fully replicated, only because of your blood I'm able to change your DNA. Also creating chimeras is abolished everywhere including the Independant."

Morpheus stayed silent, wanting Loki to carry on.

"To create a chimera you need to torture a soul to break it down and reattatch. These techniques use soul and blood magic to create the desired chimera. Even necromancers don't use souls, they simply reanimate bones using bone and blood magic. You will most likely be looked at because of your race, not the way you look since half breeds are common. Long ago in Arios, a Kingdom in the far south began creating chimeras using the torturing method on slaves. The ignorant king then openly bragged about it to the others. Most of the chimeras ever made were from those subjects and there are only a few thousand or so left in Arios. " Loki answered.

"Anyway let's carry on, for your first skill we will try for 'Identify Object' which almost everyone has." Loki said, he then chucked a glass bottle filled with a red liquid.

"This is a healing potion, rather expensive so most people don't use them especially this one. I want you to look at how it moves and the faint glow it gives off." Loki said.

Morpheus did what loki suggested and another blue screen popped up in front of him.

'Congratulations' you have learnt General Skill-Object Identification Level 1. The more you level this skill the more explanation given from an item.

'Mystic Grade Healing Potion'

"Wow you got that sooner than I expected, what's your intelligence at? Actually show me your stats, mentally will them to me." Loki asked.

As Morpheus stared in awe of this priceless item he carefully placed it back upon his very cheap dining table. Morphues following Loki's order mentally willed Loki to look at his character stats. By this point he learned a new general skill.

'Congratulations' you have learnt General Skill-Lifeform Identification Level (1). Each level of this skill adds another 10 levels you are able to identify correctly'

(Loki, God of Mischief. Level ΩΩΩΩΩ)

"Loki, what level are you?" Morpheus gulped as he asked.

"Oh you got that skill too huh?" Loki said while studying Morpheus' stats.

"My level is over five-thousand, each omega sign you see represents one thousand levels but you cannot pinpoint my exact level. If you scan my daughter you should see an alpha sign which can represent five-hundred levels. Usually any Omega or even Alpha sign you see in the wild you should run immediately at the way you are with your level."

(Lily, Mistress of Shadows, Daughter of Loki. Level Ωα)

"So this means your daughter could kill me with a flick?" Morpheus asked.

At this point the poor new boy felt way too insignificant to the actual god sitting in front of him.

"Yes she could since she is a demi-god, but I can't due to our rules. This practically means we can't kill anyone, the reason I was able to cause you pain was because you allowed me to."

Loki elaborated. "There are more flexible rules for demi-gods, Lily would still be cast aside if she inflicted pain upon a mortal borne."

Morpheus just smiled reluctantly, he looked at the table and began to use his new skill.

'Basic Cheap Table'

Morphues suddenly remembered his new clothes and items as he finished looking at everything. He realised he could not identify any of Loki's clothing, or the items near him. The amount of information that was available to him increased, as the skill levelled up.

"Also when you've left do you mind if me and Lily live here if you're in Arios?" Loki asked.

"Of course you can, why would I have a use for this apartment?" Morpheus responded.

Loki looked at him then wisped a few things out of mid air.

"These are therefore a gift to you."

"These are amazing, are you sure they're ok to give me?" Morpheus asked.

"Yes of course but don't let people examine 'Dagger of Black' and 'Pack of Cigarettes'. A item from a god is priceless in the eyes of a collector but the actual quality of the item isn't so. That's why it probably says only a couple gold to you."

Morpues but the bow and everything else in his little pouch which he hooked onto his side, covered by his cloak.

"I think I'm ready." He said.

"You want a bit of magic?" Loki said and threw an old scroll towards him. Morpheus opened it slowly and his eyes bulged as a bright red light shone from the page.

'Congratulations' you have learned a very weak spell-Spark level (1). Summon a small spark in the center of your palm. Efficiency of cost of mana increases with skill level. Due to your level and low strength of the spell it has not gone towards any of your classes. The spell has been added to general skills.

Morpheus looked into the air after processing his new found knowledge of being able to summon the spark. All he had to do was will it and a small spark appeared in his hand. He noticed an initial charge of three mana and then another one per second to keep it there.

"Heheh, if only Mrs striker could see me now." He cockily said.

Loki again snapped him out of it. "Now a few more things to know before I send you on your way, every assigned stat point won't go up by a set amount each time. It usually would grow slowly with each level if you were an elf but because you are a chimera it will fluctuate a lot."

"Next, again don't be alarmed by people looking at you. It is always out of curiosity, unless you are in the Empire everyone should treat you like a normal person except a few arseholes."

Morpheus nodded.

"It would be best to start earning money, I'm going to dump you just outside the Sea of Trees in a level one to thirty five area. Your stats regardless of your level are those of a level thirty so you're not likely going to die."

Loki cleared his throat to carry on.

"Head to Ervos. I'll give you a map which you can copy into your interface. Then you should be safe there. I could teleport you into the city but it would most probably look like a summoning gone wrong. Most people are at around level twenty five when they're sixteen. When you reach level twenty-five you'll be given a secondary class. Be careful with what you choose, the rest of the classes come later when you start learning magic or achieve certain feats."

He was silent still.

"Morpheus Nvos are you ready?"

Morpheus nodded.

"Then move to center of the room."

Loki grabbed his daughter by her arms and sat her down on the sofa. He began drawing a circle around Morpheus using fine silver dust which let off a distinct smell.

Loki began murmuring words to himself, Morpheus just looked at the god. What had his life just become.
