Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: Junior's change

"We brought snacks" a voice announced as soon as the door was opened, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes before ushering them in.

These days, I have gotten used to them appearing whenever and however, so I was not as repulsive as I was towards them before. At least this time I would collect the basket of Snacks in their hands and politely say thank you, before leaving them with Junior.

These days, junior has been acting weirdly, like he had taken the wrong medicine and I didn't know what they (Matt and Edward) said to him as he was always with them and never seems to get tired of it. Anyways I was sure his change in attitude has something to do with them and I didn't know if I should be happy or not.

Just like right now, my brother who always treated me like air actually greeted me today and asked if she slept well. Like seriously?

....

Christmas was finally here and the merriment and excitement was buzzing in the air. Even I that disliked festivity was in a good mood. My parents arrived late last night for Christmas Eve, and we spent the entire night watching Christmas special, the same series we would watch every Christmas.

My Feelings for the film had long gone and all I felt about it was that it was a family tradition that I couldn't flake on but even with that, I couldn't hide the look of boredom that always appeared on my face. Sometimes I would even bring out my phone to chat, but today was different, probably because I haven't seen them for a while now, and I couldn't help but revel in the feeling of our family together. Just us.

Our maids had all gone on Christmas leave yesterday to celebrate with their families, even Matt and Edward had flown back to New York yesterday, so it was just us in the house without any distractions.

I was the first to leave for bed with an excuse that I was tired and since my parents thought we had a long day ahead, they also went to bed early. I knew more than anyone that they have been so occupied these days, and even though they always put in much effort in their appearance, I could still notice the little eye bags under dads eyes, although mom's makeup concealed hers perfectly.

Collapsing on the bed, I lied on my back as I stared at the ceiling. A thousand thoughts were going through my mind, but I shut my eyes, trying to keep my calm.

Edward's and Matt's company had given me different ideas, although Matt already confessed that he indeed came here because of me, I didn't know about Edward.

I figured my feelings for him over the days was becoming complicated. From crush to infatuation, I knew better than anyone that I have started developing real feelings for him, but to say that I feel the same way about Marcus was confusing.

The both of them were like fire and ice, different in many aspects, for example Marcus was childish, mysterious and made one feel a sense of danger while Edward was proud, doesn't say much, annoying and unpredictable.

I told myself many times that I didn't want to involve myself with the both of them because I felt they had too many secrets. Like Edward, his eyes was as calm as the waves but if one looked closer, those eyes stared like a bottomless pit. At least that was my intuition.

In knowing, I had decided to stay away from them both, but I keep seeing him everywhere, the only thing I had to thank God for was Marcus, who I haven't seen.

My Feelings were a bit complicated and I sucked in a deep breath, as I reached for the switch to turn off the lamp before burying myself under the duvet. These matters could wait till tomorrow.

....

With a loud yawn, I got off bed and stretched my arms. I could hear heavy and light footsteps from downstairs, so I assumed it belonged to my mom and dad.

The streets were covered in snowflakes, and even the porch seemed wet. I stretched my fingers outside and the snowflakes collected on my palm. The first snow in this year. I looked up, imagining how stress-free life would have been if the human's heart was as white as snow.

I didn't take notice of the time and was brought back by a rapping sound on my door. I didn't need to think to know that it was the over pampered boy of the house, so I walked out of the balcony, before unlocking the door.

I was surprised when I met with his wide grin as he reached his arms to hug me. His gesture was quite unexpected, and I stood dumbfounded before a smile crept its way to my face as I hugged him back.

"Merry Christmas sis" I couldn't help but wonder if I was dreaming or not. If I wasn't dreaming then it must be that he had really taken the wrong medication. Nevertheless, I smiled and wished him back.

"Merry Christmas Bro" I could tell it sounded awkward coming from my mouth, so I coughed, breaking the hug as I sized him up.

His change in attitude over the days didn't go unnoticed, and I saw that he was warmer towards me. I naturally was happy about it but at the same time was surprised as I was used to his snobbishness and couldn't help but feel like I was in trouble.

"So mum said Lucas, Martha, Koko, and Tory are not coming" Even though, this was the first, I wasn't concerned as I didn't have that much relationship with them. They were too lousy and pretentious, and I found it a bother to keep up with them.

Instead, I was happy that there wouldn't be any voice ringing downstairs and I would be able to have a good night rest without having to bother about the next prank those kids were going to play on me.

"It's OK. We are just going to celebrate by ourselves" I comforted and was shocked when he smiled.

Cather, Enough of the smiles. But I can't help it was just too… Unusual.

"Sure. I would love to spend some time with you anyways. Plus I need you to chose outfits for me" I spat out the water in my mouth at his words and stared at him. Me change his clothes? Didn't he hate that the most?

"Is anything the problem? Should I call mom?" I quickly masked my surprise and said.

"No no it's OK am fine. It's just that, I feel kinda cold. I'll go take a bath OK then I'll meet you downstairs?" I got him to excuse himself and I took in a deep breath when he left. What a weird . Kid.

...

Third Person P.O.V

On a king-sized bed, lied a guy with his rough nest sitting lazily on his head. He was very furious as his manager, Payne interrupted his rest.

"What is it this time?" He groaned as he got of bed in only his underpants.

If it was any other person, seeing him bare like this, one is afraid the person would have fainted at least three times now. His body was just too perfect, huge biceps, six pacs, coupled with a very charming face, it was something no one could resist.

"Remember that show thirty days of Christmas you were signed up for last year?" Edward nodded for him to continue even though he couldn't remember anything about some thirty days of whatever show.

"What about it?" He asked as he tied his robe, his fingers were long and delicate and his movement was swift, as if every action of his was trained to perfection.

"The director called last night to tell me that it starts tonight and the scripts have been sent over."

"Hmm" Edward mumbled as he picked a Grape from a nearby tray and chewed on it. "Call and tell him I am canceling out. Just make up anything, I am not going" he instructed nonchalantly as he picked another Grape.

The manager's heart bled as he wondered how he ended up with such an indifferent artist. One had to say, this managers abilities was top-notch, and he was very famous for being professional.

But since he was forced to be this guy's manager, his eyes had seen, ears heard the most ridiculous of things. This guy, behind all the glitz and glam is a very lazy guy who likes to take things for granted.

"But. It is too late to do that. Plus I had already told him you'll be ready by Ten. Dear Edward can you not make matters worst for me." the manager resorted to begging as he knew forcing wouldn't work on him.

"Just tell him am ill or something. Not going" He refused bluntly, turning a deaf ear to his pleas as he headed for the bathroom.

But before he could enter, his phone rang, and he lazily strolled back to pick it, His face curved to an excited smile when he saw who the caller was and motioned his manager to shut up with his finger on his lips.

"Hello Cat"
