Sitting on his throne made of precious jewels that had been snatched from kingdoms far and wide, sat someone whose name itself brought terror.
Some called him the son of Satan and some called him the dark lord, for he was the epitome of evil. The air gently tried to sway his matted locks, but in vain.
Like his name, he wore a dark robe that matched the tone of his skin. In short everything was dark about him, except for his eyes, that sparkled in a brilliant hue of blue. His ginormous stature added to the fear that people possessed.
Some folklore even said that, one deathly stare of his was enough to make someone's soul depart. And he always kept them hidden under his hood. The darkness and evil inside him was so absolute that, any life form didn't dare to sprout on the land where he stayed. So his city was also named as the barren land.
