Morpheous sat on the seat opposite Bishop, and Caroline could see a weird resolve imprinted on his face.
'Ugh! Why does he have to act like a dimwit right now?'
She almost wanted to stomp on her feet but saw Bishop instructing something to his dealer. And when their eyes met, he passed out a warm smile in her direction.
'Was this man friendly or trying to just feign friendliness?' She wondered in her head and tugged Morpheous's jacket.
"I don't want to lose 1480 dollars, Morpheous! Let's go!"
"Looks like your lady has some inhibitions!" Bishop slyly smiled as he looked at them.
"Gentlemen, we are lowering the chips in this round. Switching to bet of 50." The dealer announced, and she could hear a hushed retaliation from the remaining members. She couldn't understand why Morpheous was so hell-bent on playing against him.
She had no idea how bitter the seed of jealousy was burning inside him.
