The following day, even though she opened her eyes, she didn't feel like getting up from the bed. She didn't feel like even getting ready to go to the hospital. But as Dr. Van was coming to pick her up in thirty minutes, she dragged herself out from the bed for his sake.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't wipe the dark memories of yesterday from her mind.
His words had hit her hard.
All this time, Caroline had only thought about herself, her promise, her pain, and didn't even realize how painful it must have been for Morpheous to be unable to save someone when he possessed the power to do so. She couldn't even begin to imagine how torn he must have felt.
She wanted to apologize to him but didn't know how to.
While brushing her hair, she got a call from Dr. Van informing her that he was waiting outside her house. So picking up her stuff, she walked out and saw Dr. Van striking up a conversation with Gramps.
