"Go away Morpheous. Save yourself. I told you not to look for me."
She yelled desperately at the sight of him. But today he was someone who was not going to listen. His jaws hardened seeing the cut marks from the cable ties.
"Did they do this to you?" he asked, looking at the deep scar on her neck as he pulled the ties open.
"They will kill you Morpheous. Please just go. Leave me alone!" She begged, her red-rimmed eyes flooding with tears, but he couldn't understand why she didn't want to escape from there.
'Bang!'
A trigger was pulled from a distance and a horrendous noise tore her eardrums. She stood there in horror as she saw a bullet punch through his neck, splattering a shade of crimson on her face.
"No! No! No! Please, No!" she pleaded seeing him close his eyes.
Grabbing on to his arms, she quickly turned him around, shielding him with her body. Pressing the wound with her palm, for the first time in her life she silently begged God to save him.
"Please! Morpheous please! Hang in there."
But in the next second, he opened his eyes, and she was taken aback by the flicker of blue in them.
"Stay here!" he said and tried to push her behind a closet.
"No Morpheous! You will bleed."
"I won't," and he removed her palm from his neck. Her lips parted in surprise and her legs staggered. She took a step back from him.
There was no bullet wound, just the coagulated remnants of his blood. Shivering in horror, she looked at him with fear in her eyes.
"Who are you? What have you done to my Morpheous?"
'Bang!'
'Bang Bang!'
And multiple shots were fired in their direction. Covering her ears she crouched down, her eyes shut tight in fear, but seconds later everything turned silent again. All that she heard was a gentle flapping.
