Morpheous moved his head a bit to his back, trying to peer into her blue eyes. Anyone could clearly read the surprised expression on his face.
"I trust you, Morpheous!" Her lips scattered those precious words, which he was probably dying to hear.
And then, as if she had become her undoing, he tilted his face and kissed her hard.
That sudden contact brought in a strange flush in her cheeks that she had never experienced before. And when he took a second to take a breath, she opened her eyes and watched him looking at her intently. In the pitch dark night, could he even see the color warming up her face?
He gently ran his thumb over her blushed cheeks and watched her lips part in response. She couldn't understand how on earth an angel could be so insecure about himself. In his eyes, she could see a shell that he was trying to break away from.
Torn, her lips quivered in the want of his warmth that he had been depriving her of.
