"Um," she spoke softly, her head throbbing with the slight movement of her lips. She felt as if a truck had ran over her head over and over again, leaving nothing but mush. In fact, it felt worse than a hangover did.
Upon hearing her speak, he tilted his head, and gave her a huge smile.
"Good evening, your majesty." Christino's smile was somewhat silly, however, he felt as if he was entitled to the joy. After all, he had waited close to twenty three years to meet with the royal prince and princesses.
"Who are you?" He could see the confusion in her eyes. However, she did not seem to fear him. "Are you here to kidnap me as well?" Her voice was hoarse, but that made sense, considering that they she had just been through a lot of mana in such a short time.
He knew that the late Princess had not wanted her children to be raised in the ways of their homeland, and that was why they did not know yet how to harness the little mana there was in the air.
He had just thought that, when he noticed that, even though it was minuscule, that Yasmine's body seemed to be replenishing mana from the air on its own. He and his brother had just arrived, so he did not know what had happened which caused her mana to have undergone such exposure in such a short time.
"Kidnap you?" his smile did not drop as he spoke. Then he looked up at the people he did not know. They were, without a doubt, from the homeland that their parents had spoken of. Christino could feel it in his bones. He could see it in the way they carried themselves, and the accent in which they spoke English with.
Even though the languages were familiar, Asminan, which was the language spoken in their homeland, was much different from English, the language that was spoken on Earth. The development was different, which caused it to have a different way in which they pronounced certain words.
Nevertheless, the language was still quite similar.
"I do not plan on kidnapping you. If you do not wish to come with us, or go with them, then we shall kill them, then protect you both." He lowered his body, slightly, getting into a fighting stance that would enable him to fight by using only his feet. It would be taxing, but if that is what the princess wished, then, that is what would be.
By this point, Yasmine was tethering between passing out and staying awake. She could instinctively feel that neither side was hostile towards her, and thus, she turned her head left and right, searching for her brother.
Elroy lay where she had left him. She fervently prayed that he was still alive. "I do not want anyone else to get hurt. I just want to go to Elroy." She spoke as she turned back to look at Christino. It was then that she noticed her father lying at the feet of a man who looked like Christino.
However, his eyes and hair were a lighter shade of brown. There was a sword held to his neck.
That was when she noticed the tense situation that she was in. It seemed that the two sides were not working together, and yet they both wanted her and Elroy. "If that is what you wish, Princess."
Upon seeing that the two really were not hostile against Yasmine and Elroy, Thyra's group slightly relaxed. "Before you put her down." Doug's foot pressed into Jason Boise's back. The man had passed out some time after their arrival. This was all thanks to Doug manipulating the little mana in the air to press some pressure points on the man to make him pass out.
"What do you people suggest we do with this?" depending on their answer, he would either refuse to leave the princess with them, or he would work together with them to protect the princess.
Alec could feel the severity of the situation, almost as if he could tell what Doug was thinking. Thus, with as much caution as he could muster, he spoke, "That is what we were deliberating just now." He spoke slowly, as he tightly held onto his blade, ready for when Doug would retaliate and attack. "That man sired the prince and princesses, thus it would bode us no good if he passed away. He is just but a puppet, and if he can be saved, we see no reason why we should not do our best to save him."
Doug's hand slackened slightly, the fist he had made with his hand loosening in the process. Although he had been just a wee child when he first saw the mate that the princess had chosen, he had instantly liked the man. Their memory was, after all, much better than that of the average person.
Jason Boise was a man filled with so much warmth that it was difficult to dislike him. Even their parents had been wary at first, however, by the end of the time they had met him, the two of them liked him just as much as the princess had promised they would. The man always had a smile on his face, and he genuinely liked the princess they took care of. He was not adept in using mana, but they forgave him for his inability to protect the princess, for the land they were in, earth, was much safer than Asmina.
If anything did happen, the princess would be able to protect herself. If she was unable to protect herself, with just a whistle of her mana infused flute, they, her bodyguards, would be able to protect her.
Who would have known that the princess would die of disease so soon? Not to mention it was a disease that was incurable with earth's resources. After all, it was a disease that was only common to Asminan people.
