In the middle of a relatively serene bamboo garden on the outskirts of the imperial palace, four figures appeared out of thin air causing the leaves to rustle. Because of the dust rising in the city during the conflict the beauty of the garden was obscured making it difficult for one to see anything within a two-meter radius.
Ji Yao was hugging Rui Fei as he slowly put him down. His face appeared haggard as he patted Rui Fei's face with trembling hands. As the energy rush from transforming for the first time died down his body shivered involuntarily but with his current state of mind, he didn't seem to notice.
"Baby wake up... open your eyes. Baby," he whispered as he caressed Rui Fei's face with his thumb. Rui Fei was partially awake but his eyes were heavy-lidded and his body so exhausted that he could barely lift his hand to comfort Ji Yao.
