The team roamed but some didn't pay to buy things but to have lessons on how the Magical Technologies were made. Luis only bought Alchemy things and advance Alchemical Technology for the alchemists left at the headquarters.
"Sir! I can guarantee that this technology can not only copy the spell but as long as you can supply it with Energy Crystals, it will work continuously!" The man explained as he showed Luis a cube-like machine with glass on top.
"What if I put an identification spell on it? Will it work?" Luis asked.
"100% guaranteed that it will work!" The man replied.
"Let me test it, if it works, I'll buy it plus 10% but if it doesn't work, you will pay me for fraud!" Luis grinned.
The man looked at Luis and when he saw that Luis is not lying, he handed the cube over to Luis with a bag of Energy Crystals.
"You can take the bag if it doesn't work, but if it does, fulfill your end of the bargain and pay an additional 10% of the amount of Energy Crystals inside that bag." The man confidently stated.
Luis used his newly acquired spell technique in which he can cast a spell as long as he draws the basic structure of the spell in the air using his energy.
He drew the basic structure of the Identification Spell he got way back then and then the spell entered the cube as it glowed and a green light appeared at the glass panel on top of the cube.
"Place the thing that can be identified by the spell." The man instructed.
Luis took a herb and placed it on top of the cube and a panel suddenly appeared describing the characteristics of the herb and its uses.
Luis placed 11 thousand Energy Crystals inside the bag and gave it back to the man.
"It's good! Can I ask for your mask just in case if this machine got any malfunctions?" Luis asked.
"Sure! No problem!" The man replied and gave his mark to Luis.
"Thank you for this!" Luis said as he walked away.
"Pleasure doing business with you sir!" The man shouted.
Luis waved and proceed to the fountain at the plaza where all of them are meeting before they return home.
The king let them borrow one of his carriages but it was the land carriage so they will take 3 days before they got home.
The members who can forge bought a lot of books about Magical Technologies and Magical Circuitries.
As soon as they all gathered up at the rendezvous spot. They hopped on the carriage and made their way back to the headquarters.
Day and night, the carriage rolled and only stop when the beast needs to rest and in the morning of the 3rd day, they reached the headquarters.
They were welcomed and the people who know to forge immediately went to the Forging Room and tested their newfound knowledge.
Meanwhile, the other people are preparing to start their investigation while the time for the opening of Maix's Realm is still far.
The first stop of their investigation is the town where the Elton River starts but the town is no more but instead, a ruin took its place under the mountain. The Town of Eristreas.
Before they went there, Luis made a sidetrack to go to the Town of Armeton to get some Crimson Bubble Blister Guppies.
They went to Eristreas through a crevice Luis left so that they can still enter Eristreas. The same still looks the same, but the new environment of the dark is emerging in the town. Bioluminescent beasts and insects roamed the town and its surroundings. The statue-like people of Eristreas is still there.
"First mission, find the source of Micro Corruptors. Our only clue is the Elton River." Luis reminded them.
"What does the source looked like?" Alyssa asked.
"It looks like a giant fungus with holes on it and emitting gooey thing. Remember, be careful to not touch any fluid near the fungus." Luis reminded again and they separated as they covered a big area around Elton.
A few minutes later, no one reported anything suspicious until Luis's mark glowed.
"Alpha Thunder to Captain Doctor, Alpha Thunder to Captain Thunder!" Rex's voice rang through Luis's mark.
"What kind of joke is this? Do you have any leads?" Luis replied.
"Reporting to Captain Doctor, I saw a toadstool matching your descriptions, coordinates are already sent to you. Over and out!" Rex ended and Luis contacted the others as they went to the place where Rex is.
When they reached the place, they saw the Toadstool with holes on its cap where gooey fluids flow through the waters of the Elton River.
Let's see what kind of a fungus are you!" Luis exclaimed as he drew the structure of the Identification Skill in the air and pressed it towards the toadstool.
No information was sent back, he tried it several times and he failed.
"What's happening? This works on any kind of plant, fungus, or herb. Unless... Everyone stay away!" Luis shouted and everyone stepped out as the ground where the fungus grew quaked and a large toad beast emerged.
"A Green Phase Toad! Why does it look like purple?" Julianne exclaimed.
"You know what kind of beast is it?" Alyssa asked.
"We knew well, because, from the city where we came from, the river near it was a place where Green Phase Toads, they are all harmless and emits algae to the water that maintains its cleanliness that's why they look green, but this one is way bigger and purple," Julianne replied.
"It means that we found the right one! Remember Saint Drachius, the Saint of Plague?" Luis asked.
"Yes, he is the one who creates artificial diseases by doing mutations and chemical... You mean he created this?" Alyssa replied and got shocked.
"No, but someone's trying to revive his experiments and using it to plague the kingdom." Luis seriously replied as he changed his stance and looked at the gigantic toad the size of a 2-story building.
"Get ready to fight guys!" Alyssa exclaimed.
"Be careful and don't let the fluid touch you! Attack from distance!" Luis shouted as they moved away from the toad.
"Kyle! Can you manipulate the fluid?" Luis asked.
"Let me see if I can," Kyle replied and took a step forward as the toad spew a puddle of the fluid but Kyle dodged and controlled the fluid towards the opposite side.
"The fluid consists of contaminated water so I can still manipulate it but I'm not confident that I can manipulate everything," Kyle spoke as soon as he retreated a distance from the frog.
"Okay, restrain from using water as much as possible and if you can, reflect the fluids away from everyone," Luis commanded.
"Julianne, Jericho, you have experience regarding this beast, do you know any weakness they possess?" Alyssa asked.
"The normal Green Phase Toad will weaken once the fungi behind it were removed, but that's also the phase that they will become poisonous so we never touch them," Julianne replied.
"What kind of poison is it?" Luis asked.
"Corrosive Poison," Jericho replied.
"So we need to avoid every fluid around to avoid injury?" Rex asked.
"Yes, as much as possible get away from any form of liquid substance," Alyssa replied.
"Roger that, Commander Fire Bird!" Rex saluted as he moved away and summoned dark lightning on his hand.
"What the? Commander Fire Bird?" Alyssa was dumbfounded when she heard it.
"Focus! At least he didn't call you Captain Doctor!" Luis consoled as he prepared the two elements he was adept with. Earth and Light.
"Okay, let's get this started!" Luis exclaimed.
They spread away surrounding the toad at least 20 meters away. Rex threw the lightning at the back of the toad as it turned around and spew a puddle of fluid in his direction but Kyle successfully diverted the attack.
"Remember, toads can also attack with their long tongue!" Luis reminded them as he trapped the toad inside a large earthern cage.
The cage was reinforced by Achilleas's molten steel rods that's why it will take a while before the frog can escape.
"Target all of the fungi behind it!" Alyssa exclaimed.
"Be careful and always remember its second phase!" Luis reminded as he blinded the toad by flashing a bright white light to its eyes.
The toad kept on spinning while spewing puddles of fluids randomly.
Jericho manipulated the fungi as he plucked them one by one while Julianne plants a series of explosive orbs at the back of the toad that burnt a lot of fungi.
The fungi easily grew back because the area was damp and dark. Luis noticed this that's why he summoned a bright white orb above the area as it lightened the whole area and Alyssa summoned a fire orb that emits a warm aura and placed it together with the light orb.
It felt like the area was the only place where the sun shined bright.
They continued to attack the toad while the toad kept on spinning and squirming inside the cage. Fungi were being removed at a visible pace as the toad's skin slowly turned dark.
The cage slowly collapses as time passes by and when Jericho removed the final fungus behind the toad, the toad completely turned black and it burrowed under the ground and broke the foundation that's keeping the cage up.
"Alright, everyone! Phase Two! What should we consider?"
