Chereads / Sky Chasers: Scale of Judgment / Chapter 46 - The Mission

Chapter 46 - The Mission

After that shocking event, they spent the day enjoying themselves at the baths or the Leisure room, and when the night came. The famiglia bade the 4 deans farewell.

"Your things already came 4 hours ago, I guess you already chose a room you like so we instructed the moving team to put your things in your respective rooms!" Alyssa smiled as she looked at the four people. They nodded and excused themselves to organize their stuff.

"Alyssa, Cyrius, please come with me, we need to talk," Luis asked as he walked and entered the Meeting room.

As soon as they entered the room. They sat facing each other. He informed them about what Mufar told him about the investigation mission. Alyssa and Cyrius nodded when they heard everything.

"You want me to be part of this investigation?" Cyrius asked.

"Yes, but before that, I want to ask you a favor," Luis answered.

"What is it?" Cyrius asked.

"Can you go to the Divine Medicine Pavilion stealthily and try to acquire information about the Burning Cauldron's reaction about those four?" Luis asked Cyrius.

"On it!" Cyrius responded as he flicked in and out of existence.

"Are you doubting the four that's why you did that?" Alyssa asked.

"No, I'm not doubting them, I did that to see whether they will act up against us when they learn the news that they joined us. We need to prepare for every possibility of threat in our family." Luis seriously stated as he looked at Alyssa.

"Family..." Alyssa muttered as a blush appeared on her face.

"What's the matter, Alyssa?" Luis asked as he saw Alyssa's sudden change of attitude.

"Nothing... Anyway, do you have any plans on how we should do this investigation?"

"Let's wait for the others before we discuss this thing."

Meanwhile...

Inside the Divine Medicine Pavilion. A young man hiding behind the fabric of space was listening to the conversation of some Physicians and Nurses roaming around.

"I heard that the Burning Cauldron lost four members?" One of the nurses asked.

"Yeah! They tried to kick them out but the four made a quick move and quit first." The other nurse answered.

"I heard that their leader was furious when he heard what happened."

"Well, he can't do anything to them yet because he was still lying on his bed recovering from all those injuries he had."

"Pathetic! Trying to look strong when in fact he was weaker than a rat when fighting against that famiglia."

"I know right! The head of their famiglia always visits here before they even formed their famiglia and he always greeted every one of us with a smile."

"He's sweet and handsome, unlike the pride of this School. Full of arrogant and self-righteous bastards."

When Cyrius heard this information, a smile appeared on his face as he teleported out of the Divine Medicine Pavilion back to the Sky Chasers headquarters.

He walked towards the meeting room and luckily the two were still inside talking about something serious.

"Hey, Leaders! I gathered information that Francis was enraged about the four leaving and I didn't know that Luis was famous inside Divine Medicine Pavilion. He was the talk of the nurses there. Hehehe..." Cyrius look at him lewdly as he approached them.

"I didn't know that! Anyway, any possibility that they will approach us?" Luis asked.

"For now, there were no signs that the Burning Cauldron knew they were here but there's a possibility that they will know it soon," Cyrius replied.

"You two sounded like a boss and a subordinate of an organization, that's too formal to hear!" Alyssa scoffed as she crossed her arms.

"You really know how to kill the fun around Alyssa, geez!" Cyrius snorted.

"One last request, can you call the rest here?" Luis asked.

"Sure! Right away sir!" Cyrius playfully replied with a salute as he flickered in and out of existence.

A moment passed and all of the members of the Sky Chasers gathered around this room with their new members.

Luis told them everything that they needed to know about their mission after the fight with the Prophets.

"We will be hands down for this mission, we're mainly doing Alchemy so we're not as good as you when it comes to fighting and stuff." Ana refused the idea of participating in this mission.

"Anyone else?" Luis asked.

"I suggest that those who can quietly escape or hide should accept this mission. Probably, Cyrius and Serion should be in this one!" Jay suggested.

"Are you okay with that Serion? Cyrius?" Luis asked.

"No problem with me!" Serion replied.

"Affirmative!" Cyrius playfully responded.

"Any more?" Luis asked.

"I want to join them!" Jericho volunteered.

"Okay, that's three! Any more volunteers?" Luis asked but no one answered.

"The four of us will accept this mission. The rest can do some stuff or if any mission were posted on the bulletin. Any questions?" Luis asked.

Crix raised his hand signifying that he has a question.

"Why does our insignia has the symbol of wolf out of all the beasts?" Crix asked and the rest of the Sky Chasers smiled except the new members.

"Luna!" Alyssa shouted.

A howl responded as a cute little wolf pup jumped on the table and ran towards Alyssa.

"She is Luna, the number 1 Founder of this Famiglia! We made the insignia inspired by her." Alyssa told them as Luna ran to the four and landed at Ana's bosom.

"She is Luis's beast pet. She can be found everywhere when Luis was here but she only stays in Luis's room when Luis is out." Julianne added.

They chat for a little bit more about the things they must know about the famiglia and Luis informed them about how the quest board works and other stuff that the deans told them.

"Ana, Crix, Tristan, and Alex. Meet me at the Alchemy Room tomorrow at 7 am, I will teach you something." Luis smiled as he looked at the four new members of the team.

The four nodded back at him and he dismissed the meeting as all of them prepared themselves to sleep while Luis head to the Alchemy Room after taking a bath and he started concocting pills from the herbs he has.

After concocting 10 batches of grade 4 and 5 pills. He took all of the herbs he needed to try and make a grade 6 pill.

Midnight Looker Petal, Black Masquerade Moss, Eternal Spring Flower, Red Spiked Anemone, Rainbow Eagle's Blood, Spiral Mushroom Spore, and a lot of supplementary herbs.

He arranged them according to their characteristics. After a while, he started a fire and added the Rainbow Eagle's blood and Eternal Spring Flower. He raised the temperature to bring the concoction to boil and added the Spiral Mushroom Spore and the supplementary herbs. He stirred the concoction for a while and added the Black Masquerade Moss and Red Spiked Anemone which is the quickest to melt among all of the herbs. Lastly, he lowered the heat and added the Midnight Looker Petal, and quickly raised the heat as soon as the petal touched the concoction and an explosion rang out but it didn't spread throughout the headquarters because of the inscriptions and barriers added in each room that didn't disturb anyone from sleeping.

"What could be the mistake I did?" Luis pondered as he recalled every step that he did and made a simulation in his mind that might be the reason for his error and thought of the possible solution.

After an hour, he decided to try his theory and applied what he just thought to be the possible solution but he also failed at the last step.

"Why? What is in the Midnight Looker Petal that can cause this error?" He pondered again and thought it all out.

He tried it another time but when he got into the last time, the cauldron explodes every time.

"Damn! I should read Chad's journal and see if I can find a solution for this." Luis thought and he started to meditate.

Inside his consciousness, he finds Chad's journal which was lying near the Garden of Consciousness. He read it and a line caught his attention.

'If everything fails from your perspective, try to see it from a different perspective and you might find the answer to your problem.'

After he read that, he immediately returned to concocting, and when he was on the last step. He observed what happened and when the cauldron exploded, a hint of enlightenment struck him.

"That's it! It's not that I put the Midnight Looker Petal wrong, it's that the concoction can't take the sudden influx of heat and explodes!" Luis exclaimed as he pondered for another moment until he found a solution.

"If I heat the petal first so that the concoction doesn't need to receive that sudden influx, I guess this might work?" Luis pondered as he tried the concoction once again but this time when he was on the last step, he heats the petal and then added it to the heated concoction and the reaction describes that the concoction is a success appeared.

The concoction is a black liquid with rainbow prisms like a gas added with water and reflected with light. He used the Solidification Method to form the pills and after a few moments, five dark black pills that emit a rainbow aura emerged.

"Finally! I concocted the Grade 6 Midnight Sky Pill!"
