Chereads / Sky Chasers: Scale of Judgment / Chapter 15 - Consciousness

Chapter 15 - Consciousness

Luis and the others spent the whole duration of the third exam at the place Eroditus randomly selected.

The poor Luna refused to eat anything as she kept on guarding Luis. The young man is still unconscious and after a couple of hours passed, a portal appeared out of nowhere and Eroditus used his magic to manipulate the earth and thrown Luis at the portal as soon as he returned inside Luis's consciousness.

Luis flopped on the ground as he is still unconscious and he looked miserable. His robe was tattered and there were some traces of blood on it.

Analyn immediately called for help and as soon as the group of men came, two silhouettes of men suddenly showed, one has a lean body and the other has a muscular build. It was Serion and Achilleas.

"What happened to him?" Serion worriedly asked when he saw Luis's condition.

"I don't know! He just appeared here like that! I don't even know what happened to him inside!" Analyn nervously replied.

"Tch! A weakling alright. He can't even survive that not-so-challenging forest." Achilleas mocked.

"Now is not the right time, Achi!" Serion warned.

"Yeah right! I should leave you, two dweebs!" Achilleas mockingly bade as he walked casually past Luis as if he didn't see anyone.

"You jerk!" Serion cursed.

"What's happening here? We felt a dense insurgence of energy coming from here? Wait... what happened to him?" Mufar asked as soon as he reached the crowd.

"We also don't know sir Mufar! We just saw him exited in that condition." Analyn responded.

"Sir Mufar! While I was inside, I saw smoke coming from one side of the mountain and it has a very big pit on it! I don't know if that has anything to do with what happened to Luis." Serion told what he saw inside.

"Thanks for that piece of information Serion. We will handle it from here. Take him to the Divine Medicine Pavilion." Mufar commanded.

"Sir Mufar! Vice Dean Chisa wants to have a chat with you." A guard rushed to inform Mufar.

Mufar immediately rushed towards Chisa's Security Office.

"What's the issue Chisa?" Mufar hurriedly asked when he arrived at her office.

"The academy sensors detected a foreign energy signature that was not registered on our energy list exited the academy premises, and the energy you felt a while ago, has a sign of Godly aura in it. I'm afraid that there's a God descended at our academy and disguised as one of our students." Chisa reported as she looked towards the floating letters and numbers in front of her.

"That might be a dangerous event. We don't know if the God who descended is a benevolent one or a wicked one. By the way, we had a severely injured student who took the third exam and a witness stated that there are damages inside the forest." Mufar also reported as they exchanged a few more clues and guesses.

In the meantime, Luis was still unconsciously lying on a bed inside the Divine Medicine Pavilion. Luna still refused to part from Luis. Inside Luis's consciousness, Eroditus is on a mission to find Luis's lost consciousness and any clues on what happened to Skyrion.

Eroditus strolled around the dark place where floating shards of glass can be seen anywhere. The glasses have images showing on them and it shows a lot of events that happened to the boy.

"So this is what's inside Luis's memories," Eroditus exclaimed as he continued to stroll around Luis's memories.

As he gets deeper, he saw how depressing was Luis's memories are when the young man was still a kid.

He strolled deeper as he slowly approached Luis's subconscious. The place where every people's forgotten memories are kept. Most of these memories are the person's fear and hidden desire.

Eroditus entered the dark subconscious as he saw that every piece of glasses was shattered except from one. The largest shard of glass and also Luis's greatest desire.

The largest shard of glasses depicted a simple image. It shows Luis when he was still a kid and two shadowy silhouettes beside him. A silhouette of a lady and a man. From what he saw Eroditus already had the biggest clue on what was Luis's greatest desire.

"The poor kid's only wish is to have a complete family but fate won't let him. What a sad tragic life he has." Eroditus sighed as he continued to find Skyrion's whereabouts.

He strolled deeper and deeper inside Luis's consciousness and from afar, Eroditus saw a dim light flickering. He approached the light and there he saw a silhouette of a young man lying quietly while a white orb is hovering on it and a little further, there was a giant orb with a tingle of some blue patches, dark red patches, and a dim green patch.

"Cow-man... You came! Transfer some of your essences to this young lad! His consciousness is fading!" Skyrion hurriedly asked as he is transferring some of his essences over Luis.

"What happened Skyrion? Why does he become like this?" Eroditus confusingly asked.

"A part of his life aura was stolen along with some of his key memories and the remaining ones were shattered because there are no key memories that support them," Skyrion explained.

Eroditus hurriedly transferred some of his essences to Luis's consciousness. A yellowish-brown glow was transferred to Luis and one can easily notice that a yellowish-brown tinge was slowly emerging inside the giant orb.

"I was curious about what's happening. If the key memories were stolen, why was there a single shard standing alone inside his subconsciousness?" Eroditus curiously asked.

"That is the dearest desire that he even put his own life just to protect it. It might sound stupid but I admire how he keeps this memory precious even though he doesn't have a single clue on who was his parents." Skyrion bitterly answered as a genuine expression of fascination emerged in his tone.

They talked for a while about some stuff while they were transferring their essence to Luis when all of a sudden, a surge of bright essences flowed towards the lying consciousness of Luis.

"I guess the help from the outside has come. Go back to where you came from, I will take some rest here." Skyrion bade as he lay in the darkness and took a rest below the giant orb. "Oh! By the way, thank you for coming, Cow-man!" He smiled.

Eroditus strolled back to the domain of Luis's consciousness as he saw that the place slowly glowed brighter.

Three days passed since the incident happened. The once unconscious Luis suddenly opened his eyes as he touched his chest but he only felt a furry thing lying on his chest as he looked into it and saw Luna taking a rest on him.

"Where am I?" Luis weakly said as he looked around the room.

"Oh! You're finally awake Luis! I will call the Physician to inform him that you were awake." Serion yawned as he stood up and walked out of the room.

"Hello there Little Luna! Missed me?" Luis smiled at the sleeping wolf pup on his lap.

He just caressed the smooth and fluffy fur of Luna as he waited for Serion's return.

Moments later, the door opened and Serion entered together with Mufar and another guy in white robes.

"Let me check him first." The man said as he walked over to Luis and touched his arms.

"He's okay now, the potion you gave is really potent, Vice Dean Mufar. You can talk to him now and I'll take my leave." The man confirmed as he left the room.

"Are you feeling okay Luis? Would you mind if I ask you some questions?" Mufar asked.

"Sure Bro Mufar, I will answer them all," Luis assured.

"Would you mind tell me what happened inside the forest?" Mufar asked.

Luis told them everything that happened inside the Survival forest about his encounter with the Black Wolves, the appearance of Luna, and the encounter with the shadow, but he didn't divulge anything about Eroditus and Skyrion as they requested.

"Do you really feel okay?" Serion inquired.

"Yeah, I think so... I just felt that I'm forgetting something but I think it wasn't that important," Luis replied.

"Thank Gods!" Serion sighed out of relief.

"How long was I asleep?" Luis asked.

"You're asleep for three whole months!" Serion replied with a poker face.

"THREE WHOLE MONTHS! What happened to the exams? How was it? Did I passed?" Luis anxiously asked.

"Just kidding Luis! You were just asleep for three days and yes, the exams were already finished and you passed! Congratulations!" Serion congratulated.

They celebrated inside Luis's room as they wait for him to fully recover.

The shadow man arrived at the castle in the middle of the mountains.

He was covered with blood and his black suit was tattered as he staggered towards the throne room.

"What happened to you? Did you get what I asked for?" The man sitting on the throne asked.

"I'm sorry, young master. This is all I could get, I didn't know that he had someone strong backing him up!" The shadow answered as flopped on the floor and became unconscious.

"Bring me those orbs and take him away!" The man ordered as the guards immediately ran towards the man to bring the shadow man out.

The man on the throne took the orbs as he carefully examined all the images he got.

"What's this? Is this the content of that book? This is all a piece of trash! I need the Art of Annihilation, not this piece of crap!" The man on the throne cursed.

He tried to look at the other orbs and an orb piqued his interest.

"Ooh! I may have not acquired the Art of Annihilation, but I still got the information about that place's whereabouts. Earthern Shrine!" The man on the throne grinned and then laughed maniacally as his creepy laughter echoed throughout the hall.
