Chapter 7 - Going to the academy

Today was going to be my last day at home for a few months. I was finally going to the academy. My parents mad sure that I packed everything including my money so I didn't forget anything. I was actually excited to see what kind of place this was going to be. I was more interested to see if I could find strong people in this academy.

Well considering it's reputation I will have to assume so until I get there that is. In my old world my teacher's would tell me " if you assume it makes an ass out of you and me". But here to assume that someone might be stronger then you are is a good thing especially since people train to fight so they can earn money as an adventurer or soldier.

The only thing is most farmers like my parents couldn't afford to send their kids to such an academy. If they where lucky they could send them to the public school where they train them to become cooks, smiths, farmers, and other such things. Of course they thought that stuff at the academy but those are considered a hobby or subclass.

Subclasses are a class or hobby that you specialize in other then your main class. Such as warrior, berserker, wizard, and paladin just to name a few.

The cart that I was going to take to the academy finally pulled up to the house. It wasn't anything fancy it looked like a cut open box with wheels and a horse pulling it. The horse itself was magnificent it was a majestic brown with a dark main. I put all my belongings in the back of the cart and said my goodbyes to my parents before I jumped into the cart with the rest of my stuff.

It took us 12 hours without any incidents on the road to reach the outside of the city we needed to enter to get into the academy. Sadly it was getting dark soon and I wouldn't be able to explore the city today. It looked like an elven city in the movies I used to watch. The name of this city was Elrond and near the center of this city was a castle. A few miles to the right of the castle stood the academy in which I was to attend. The school it self was square with four towers on each side about 10 stories high and had a square courtyard in the center of it with four main doors to go in and out from each side.

I was assigned as a first year so I immediately walked-up to my section with the other kids my age. Every single on of them seemed to ignore me. Probably because I was dressed so poorly. I even heard some of the kids say why did they let a farmers kid in here. I simply ignored that and waited for the teachers to arrive.

They arrived once it got dark and they double checked to see if everyone was there. Each class had it's own section going from the 1st to the 10th.

According to the teachers the first years where to bunk on the first floor I was assigned room 129 they gave us 1st years a map of the academy as well as instructions not to lose it. The other sections meet up with their respective teachers and where dismissed promptly.
