Eight-year-old Darius is still morning the loss of his older brother just two years ago, so why is he still feeling blue? Having no friends and no one to play with, his fears of everything only grow and grow until he is scared and alone about what to do next.

Growing up in a Mansion the size of a palace sure does have its perks. You have your own waitstaff, your own baristas, your own advisors, cleaners, butlers, maidens, and cooks; but wait…..where did they all go? Ruby, don't tell me you sent them all away. Why yes, Taylor, I did. I inherited this palace from my parents after they died, but didn't think it necessary that others inherit it too. So, I sent them all away to live life to fullest, only keeping behind my family's advisor and trusted Treasuree. I grew up in these walls, was raised in these walls, and died in these walls. I welcome death, and death welcomes me.
"But now you're back, Ruby. Why? You thought being away for fourteen years, you could magically just walk back into your home and claim it over? Haa!! This home is mine and mine alone. After my father died, I took it over and rebuilt it in my image. Now no one and I means no one is going to take this from me."

Raised on Chopped from seed to skin, it is awfully nice having your own core set of beliefs...even if no one accepts you for them. That is Apple's life. Fruits aren't accepting of him as a fruit, and vegetables aren't accepting of him as a person. Oh, how I wish I could be rid of this place, fourteen-year-old Apple shouts to himself. Apple, you may just get your wish, so stop sulking. Look over yonder, there is a pair in desperate need of your help. Ruby, Darius, over here. Stop crying, we can make this friendship work.
"Apple, why are you trying so hard to keep Ruby and me together?"
"Yeah? What are you running from anyways?"
"Running? I didn't say I was running from anything. Who's running where?"
"Apple, sooner or later you're going to have to face what you fear dear, and it will not be pretty; but you must do it."

Fearless leader and Princess of Dropfarra, there is nothing she can't handle; that is…..she thought. Juggling a magical kingdom and friends with Ruby, Darius, and Apple sure should not be a one-girl show, but it is; sadly. How can one twelve-year-old be expected to handle so much? I mean, having candy cane swords is a good start, but you can't slice your way out of any argument…..right?

Thirteen-year-old Princess Elwin only knows one thing. How to lead, and how to lead well. From a baby, she has been trained and christened to become a Queen one day.
"But what if that day never comes? What if I never have to be Queen? I can't think that far ahead in the future. Let me go outside and explore the world while I am young. Set me free like Princess Rainbow. Let me go exploring like Darius. Give me a garden as big as Rubys. Help me make friends as easy as Apple. Heck, I'll even take the fearlessness from Adryan; although he could be a bit nicer to people. Just give me something, anything, please.
"Darius, next time you come, can you sneak me out of the castle with you when you leave? I promise I will reward you justly. Only for one day, I ask. Please. Stop giving me trinkets of your travels, and let me be with you on one of them. Can you make my wish come true?

Although the oldest at Fifteen-years-old doesn't mean he is the wisest. Always on the fence about whether to side with his 'sister' Ruby, or team up with evil caring Xyone is never easy. Would he really betray his sister for his own chance at life?
