Chereads / Percy Jackson and the Avengers / Chapter 37 - Planning

Chapter 37 - Planning

Hey guys! Here's another update since the story is finally moving further in the plot. I hope you liked the previous chapter. I also started watching 'The Promised Neverland' on Netflix. No spoilers please - if you guys have watched it. So, yeah. I'll tell you guys my opinion after I finish both seasons. Also, I must tell you that if you guys choose to watch it, be warned, it's a little creepy.

Okay! Now that's that's over, here's the newest Pysch fact: We can learn to control our dreams.

I KNOW THIS ONE! I've done it many times. I'm a person that has more nightmares than dreams. I've learned how to control my dreams. When you wake up due to a nightmare, what you do is, fall asleep again knowing you'll get the nightmare again. This time, you'll be able to control what happens in the dream because you know it's a dream.

The more you know that you're in a dream, the more you'll be able to control it! Also, if you don't want nightmares at all, try drinking a full glass of warm water before going to sleep. It works wonders. I hope that helped you guys!

Now...TO THE STORY!

Annabeth Chase's P.O.V (First Person)

The moment Percy, Nico, and Thalia left with half the Avengers, I knew that we had to get working. I had a feeling that they wouldn't be gone too long, but enough time for us to get the Argo 3 ready for transport. I turned to the remaining Avengers and the rest of the Seven.

Peter, Bruce, and Tony were already chattering with excitement. It's safe to say that I was a little worried about what they were planning. Thor was standing next to them, aimlessly playing with Mjolnir. The Hunters, being led by Reyna, had left to find more recruits to help in the help in the war. The Satyrs and Fawns had already been dispersed around the world and were currently on the job of finding demigods and legacies alike.

The rest of the Seven were waiting for instructions quietly. Piper kept glancing back at Jason, who kept his head down. I winced, slightly. Jason met my eyes and gave me a sad smile. I nodded to him, returning the gesture. Hazel put her hand on Piper's shoulder, effectively distracting her from Jason. He sighed in relief.

I walked up to him, "You doing okay?"

He shrugged, "Fine. I mean, dying and coming back to life only to find the love of your life loves someone else, is tough. But, you know - you win some, you lose some."

I swallowed, "I can't imagine. Percy 'died' and came back to life a few times, but he always came back with me in mind. It's really a miracle that I found him when I did." I glared at Jason, "Don't tell him I said that."

He chuckled, "Your secret's safe with me," he said, looking back at Piper, "I just wish, I could have told her how I felt. I never wanted to break up with her. She just- I wanted to protect her. The prophecy that I encountered said that one of us would die. I didn't want her to die. Simple as that."

I sighed, "You shouldn't have kept it a secret. Piper has this...feeling that she's powerful. And she is. She's powerful and strong. I can see how you wanting to protect her, hurt her. But at the same time, her feelings clouded her judgement and things went on like they did - inevitably with you dying."

Jason stared at me, "Way to sugar-coat it."

I rolled my eyes, "I'm just saying. Piper misunderstood you. Maybe she's not willing to get back together, especially now that she has a girlfriend, but if you talk to her and smooth things out, maybe you guys could be friends again."

He nodded, "I'll try, but I don't know if I can promise it."

I smiled, "That's progress."

I turned to the others, "Okay, guys. With Percy gone, it's up to us to figure out how to finish the ship, get supplies, get the ship into the water, and protect camp all at the same time. Leo, Tony, and Peter. You guys have any ideas?"

Leo and Tony shared a look before the elf-boy himself grinned at me, "The construction is already well underway. Actually, we're almost done. There's still a bunch of stuff we have to do like fix the mast, fuel the booster engines, stoke the canons, and etcetera. But that's nothing we can't do in a day."

Tony continued for him, "Festus, Leo's dragon, is already being built onto the ship as the head. The inside is being filled with state of the art Stark Technology with Friday, my AI, being programmed into the system. Bruce has to take care of stocking the med bay, and Peter has to deal with weapons and training room along with Thor."

Peter shuffled, "I'm not really a demigod, so I don't know how you guys train. As for the weapons, Thor and I chose some pretty good ones that the Hephaestus cabin offered. They're making them as we speak - customizing them for the favor of each person that's going to be on the ship with us."

I raised my eyebrows, "You guys thought of everything already?"

They nodded to me, and I smiled, "Good. Then, we should be able to keep track of everything and stay on schedule. You guys keep doing what you were doing. I'm going to see if Bruce and the Seven have any jobs to do until then."

Bruce raised his hand, "Actually, I have to work with Tony on the technology in the med bay. The Apollo Cabin will help me stock it with supplies later, but for now, we're just perfecting the tech."

I nodded to him and looked to Leo, "You're sure you perfected monster-proof technology?"

He grinned, "Better than perfect, Annie. I've already incorporated it into Tony's work. Our boat is monster-proof, the tech is water and fire proof, and we also have an unlimited snack bar."

I glared at Leo, and Tony's eyes went wide, "Unlimited...snacks?"

Leo nodded, "The Hecate Cabin's been super nice lately. Thanks to them, we have an unlimited snack bar."

Tony grinned, "I call dibs on the baby carrots!"

I raised an eyebrow at him, and he shrugged, "I like them. Don't judge."

Leo snickered, and I rolled my eyes. I turned to the remaining of the team - the rest of the Seven. Hazel and Frank smiled at me. Jason sent me a nod, and Piper glanced at him apprehensively.

I sighed, "Hazel, Frank. As praetors of Camp Jupiter, you guys already have a lot on your hands. You need to get your camp in order before coming on a quest with us. So..."

I let out a shrill whistle and listened as the sound of flapping wings filled the air. I smirked, "Guys, this is Blackjack, you remember him."

Hazel and Frank shared a look before Hazel smiled sweetly, "Thanks for the ride, Annabeth, really. But I already have way to get to camp quickly. But, I'm sure Frank could have Blackjack's help."

I tilted my head as Hazel let out her own whistle. A wind shot past me, and I shuddered. In less than two seconds, a horse was standing next to Hazel, "You remember Arion, right?"

I grinned, "It's good to see you, Arion."

Arion whinnied in response. I furrowed my eyebrows. Usually, Percy would've been here to translate what the horse had said, but he wasn't even in the state. I sighed and nodded. I turned to Blackjack, "It's up to you take Frank to Camp Jupiter. You up for it?"

Blackjack neighed in response, and for some reason, it sounded really smug. Like he was saying, "Pfft, duh. I'm Percy's pegasus. I think I'm competent enough to carry the Chinese baby-man to California."

I groaned. All my thoughts were going to back to Percy. Every. Single. Time. Jason shot me a questioning look, but all I could do was shrug. I looked over at Piper, "Pipes? You think you can set up border patrol around camp? You know the most strategic positions to place the little squads of fighters to protect camp. I think it's actually the Athena Cabin's turn."

Piper nodded and walked away with saying a word. Hazel and Frank waved to me as they got on their horses and rode of to the second camp. Jason was the only one left. He walked over to me, "It's my turn to ask if you're good or not. So, you good?"

I laughed, "Fine."

Jason studied me, "No, you're not. Your laugh didn't reach your eyes. Are you worried about something?"

I sighed and nodded, "Percy."

Jason smiled, "He can take care of himself. He's the best swordsman the demigods have had in 300 years."

"And yet, I can't help it. He was missing for months, and he doesn't have the best mental state. If anything happens to him, I'll lose the last bit of sanity I have left," I told him, crossing my arms.

He patted my shoulder, "He'll be fine. The prophecy can't go on without him, and we all know that. Trust me. He'll come back alive."

I sighed for the millionth time, "Fine. I guess that makes sense." I looked at my cabin, "Thanks for the help, Jason. I'll be in my cabin if anyone needs me."

He nodded, "I'll go see if Leo and the others need any help."

And he walked off. I stared at my cabin, thinking long and hard for a few seconds. Then, I took a detour to the beach. It was Percy's favorite place, and right now, more than anything, I wanted to be there with him. I knew I couldn't be, and that he'd be okay, but I couldn't really help that feeling of missing him.

I watched the waves rise and fall, taking a deep breath of the ocean spray. I kept repeating in my mind that he'd be back. He'd be okay. He had to come back, and he had to be okay. I'd see him again.

But why did I feel like the Fates had other plans?

So...I know I was gone for a while. I'm sorryyyyyy. Things have been weird. But, I'm trying my best to update whenever I can.

Anyway, I really hope you liked the chapter. I quite like going more into Annabeth's feelings, because everyone sees her as tactical and scary. She's a human that has feelings too, and I wanted to show that. I also really like it when Annabeth and Jason are good friends.

So here it is! Again, hope you enjoyed, and I'll see you guys soon!
