Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Khalil's

In Khalil Zain Bichi's residence Islam was introduced to magnificent beings, her uncle Khalil Bichi and his wife, Kaula. They've been nothing but lovely. Coming to Nigeria was one of the wonderful things that happened to her in life, she got to see her mom's look alike__her uncle.

Alhaji khalil has two children. Juhaif the first born followed by Husna.

Islam was sitting beside Aunt Saudah when she heard someone shouting her name, followed by a bone crushing hug. Assuming it was America she would have sworn it's Selena. She turned to see who the person was when her eyes caught sight of a pretty lady almost looking her age, grinning from ear to ear at her.

"Husna don't damage her ear drum." Warned Aunt Kaula.

"No it's okay." Smiled Islam. Right there she remembered her dad's warnings. She thought about keeping her headphones or ear plugs near her, just in case, but apparently she forgot them at Aunt Saudah's.

Looking up at the girl she voiced a 'how are you to her', and soon she learnt that was Husna, the daughter of the house.

"Okay Islam let's leave the elders to their talks and go have our girly gists." Said Husna ushering Islam to follow her.

After climbing the stairs, they reached a room, two other girls came in to view and crushed Islam in to a hug.

Husna cleared her voice and began,"So this is my room, where you'll be staying. I guess we'll make such a perfect roomies, but mom thinks otherwise, she said perhaps you won't like the idea of sharing a room. So she prepared another one for you. Now you are free to choose. And oh! these are our cousins Nora and Lubna. They are siblings, Nora here is the eldest though."

"Husna well done. Introducing the room first before us." One of the girls said. And they both laughed.

They've been nothing but lovely. In less an hour she'd really got a long with them. Though not the type to fully pertain in their talks. Hence she resorted to looking  at them from one person to another. Naturally she's never comfortable with talking freely in front of new faces. She's the type you'll beg to hear her voice before getting along with her.

They've been chatting about random stuffs. When they opened the topic of how boys could be rude at times, laughter filled the air of the room.

"You can't believe was a time at school a guy came towards me, you know what he said?" Nora said catching their attention.

"What?" they asked in unison.

"Hey! You look like my pet." She finished making them burst in to series of laughs, excluding Islam who only smiled cause of  the grave headache she was feeling at the moment, thing it always does when being exposed to noise. And exactly what her dad warned her about. He knew her problem, hence why he kept warning her to walk around with ear plugs wherever she would be.

"He carelessly told me that. Can you believe it? Like how the heck would I resemble an animal?" Nora sighed dramatically.

"I wonder what he got as pet." Husna chuckled.

"Spare me. I didn't even ask. I just silently prayed it wasn't a dog. Cause I can't keep my cool if anyone compares me to a dog."

Islam had to join the girls in laughing at that. Sure Nora must be one hella character.

Juhaif was sitting in a cream parlour, away from the boys, his uncles, aunties and everyone at home. He loves them much, but the noise he hated loads, as it's so disturbing like hell. He wondered how people could talk for hours without getting tired. It's something he'd say was impossible if he hadn't been on earth. He loves everything about months-end saturdays, only the chatters he hates.

Suddenly Fawad's call came in telling he couldn't made it to the family meeting. Once Juhaif was through with the call, he grabbed his mac book that was on his laps before the call came in and placed his phone on it, then continued watching videos.

Islam nudged Husna "Will be downstairs, got slight headache."

"Oh dear! I'm so sorry, let's get you some food and medicine." Husna replied in a loving way.

"What a  generous heart! Thank you. However, will save you the trouble." She declined Husna's offer politely. When Husna looked at her indicating she wasn't buying that, Islam perfectly added "Kinda distaste medicine, plus had drink earlier downstairs, so not really hungry." With that Husna smiled and nodded at her.

"Hard luck." chorused the two siblings.

"Okay maybe we should keep quite." Nora added.

"Please you don't have to." She gave them a little smile of appreciation.

On reaching downstairs, lots of women were chatting furiously, the parlour was literally full with tons of faces she didn't knew of. Quickly turning away from them she went further to where she viewed other set of sofas.

As she approached the place, she saw a figure occupying one of the couches. She was contemplating on going further or not when her head cracked harder. Following her heart she proceeded to the place.

As she silently tried to sit, the figure  jumped up suddenly "O M G, you've scared me. You should have salamed." He said as  his Mac book and phone fell to the floor, making a crashing sound.
