Crion whipped his head towards Ruby, his eyes widened in shock. He turned towards Alin to find her petrified with eyes locked onto the woman in front of her. The words seem embedded onto her hearts as if the final judgement of her life are finally being clear and the sight wasn't quite as eventful as she expected.
Ruby continued, "I'm not obligated to protect you and likewise you don't have to put up pretence that you care! I'm sick of this," brutally tearing apart the heart of the girl before her.
Alin clenched her fist, realisation hit her like a douse of cold water upon her head. She should've known. She should've caught on earlier. Why did she hang on to her, tightly grab onto a single tattered rope tight enough for her to bleed? Only to figure out that the woman before her had intended to cut the rope all along.
Her quivering lips managed to utter, "You want me gone, all along, you don't want me at all."
"Is that so hard to understand?"
