The world seemed to stop spinning and Lily was looking at Liam's face with incredulous expression. Her mouth was agape from shock and she had been blinking her eyes for a while now. She couldn't seem to process what he was saying.
"Look, I don't have time to play with your nonsense. Can't you just leave me alone?! This is so frustrating!" Lily exclaimed angrily.
"Why won't you believe me?" Liam retorted. His tone was a mixture of plea and helplessness. He was also getting frustrated because his feelings couldn't reach her.
"Because there's no reason for me to believe your words."
