Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

It had been many hours since Lokat had given us the vision he hand seen, and that mostly everyone had left. The man, the young one with the furrowed brow sat in the corner looking out the window. I don't think he was happy to be on guard duty.

It looked like Lokat's vision was starting to come to truth though. We had left the hospital and were followed by some dark looking vehicles with no plates or markings. At that point we all split off from each other. Unfortunately, I got stuck with Mr. Grumpy Pants and Sherri.

Speaking of Sherri, she keeps looking between us so fast I honestly would believe her eyes were just spinning like tops. She thinks that he is my mate and is bound and determined to get us to "talk" about it. Like anyone who finds their mate actually talks about it. I'd rather not have to explain that I do not want to have that or have a mate. If the threat is as large as Lokat says, there is no time for new love and bound ties. The brooding man would probably agree.

"My name is Felen, not brooding man or the young one." He grumbled while giving me a sideways glance from the window.

Ah shit, he can read minds? Well, that is going to put a damper on existence. Maybe I think he's cute. What am I supposed to do if he hears that? He was cute though, there was no denying that. If circumstances were different I could see him as my type.

"Oh really?" Breath fanned across my lips as I slowly gazed up into the most feral and tempting eyes I have ever seen. His black hair tickled my forehead softly as he leaned closer. Trapped to the chair and with no where else to go, I challenge him.

"What are you going to do about it?"

A grin graced his lips in wickedness. A burning smell filled the air as he inched ever closer. That is what shook me awake, and I shoved him back quickly ignoring the electricity in my hands as I stood. There was no place for this. Then, there was a crash at the back window. The cold air rushed in with the smell of blood and hatred. Just as I turned around, Sherri was dragged through the back rooms and into the dead of night by grey hands.

Moving to go after her, I was held back by two arms and a laugh of evil. "I am sorry, lovely. But you're staying with me."
