Chapter 58 - Hospital Blues

AT THE HOSPITAL

3rd Person's P.O.V.

For anyone who happened to be paying attention to the goings on at the hospital near the operating theaters, they would have noticed two well built security guards arrive and station themselves near theatre two.

Not being super obvious about being there but more that they were particularly alert. Keeping watch for the Lan Family and making sure that none of the (known) Jin associates were seen around the theater due to confidential information that the Director and Head of Security had both been given.

Not too long after the guards stationed themselves a man with loosely tied, long ebony hair, wearing denim jeans and a lilac suit shirt hurried into the waiting area for the operating theatres. Wen Qionglin recognised the man and waved him over. He'd been the first to arrive of the group that was expected to turn up for the patient in surgery.

"My nephew. Where is he?" The male demanded of Wen Qionglin, who was standing in front of him and blocking his path. "In surgery, Young Master Jiang. Are you here to donate blood for A' Ling?" Jiang Cheng didn't spare the time to shoot a dirty look at the familiarity with which the guard called his nephew, only nodded quickly. Wen Ning placed a hand on his shoulder, "Thank you for coming Young Master, I'll call the nurse now."

Wen Ning spoke into a two-way intercom and let the nurses know that the patient's maternal Uncle had arrived. Jiang Cheng nodded in thanks, refusing to speak anymore for fear he could expose his true feelings. Looking around, Jiang Cheng couldn't see his adopted brother, his (brother's) husband or their adopted son. He assumed they were not yet at the hospital and cursed their family's bad luck again on Wei Ying, knowing it wasn't true or right, but he needed to know what the hell was going on and how Jin Ling had ended up in the hospital operating room. A nurse came out of the room and lead him away to donate blood. 'Good thing he has the same blood type as his nephew.'

Minutes later three Lans rush in. The tallest male dressed immaculately in a white business suit with a crimson red tie and pocket square being almost dragged by another male, he was about six centimetres shorter than the Lan in white btu he was wearing a black suit with a fresh-blood red shirt and pale blue tie with white cloud designs on it, while the youngest was hurrying the pair from behind with words shrouded in desperation, was wearing black slacks with a white button up shirt and a denim jacket thrown over the top. Worry easily evident on their faces as they looked around, unsure which room their person was in. While they had been assured that nobody would get in before they arrived, they weren't sure where they needed to go to find Jin Ling.

"Young Master Wei! Over here!" A masculine voice called out, making Lan Wuxian's head snap towards the sound. Without thinking about it he grabbed his husband and his son's hands and dragged them over to Wen Qionglin.

"Wen Ning, you're here. Are you looking after A' Ling? Who are you working with? Are they trustworthy? Is A' Cheng here yet?" He responded kindly, his heart filling with relief that his long-time friend was the security guard allocated to stand guard over his nephew, a smile spreading over his face when he saw his friend nod in ascent. Relief reaching his silver eyes as he followed Wen Ning's finger that was pointed in Wang Jackson's direction. The other guard nodded at the power couple who were waiting for Jin Ling he supposed.

"Wen Ning," Lan Ying began seriously, "Have any of the Jin Clan been here?" He asked curiously, "Have any of them called or anything? Has there been any media about it?" The barrage of questions seemed to come from nowhere and he wasn't really sure how to answer. Jackson came over and introduced himself and filled in the blanks for Lan WuXian.
