Draco saw me blushing but decided not to tease me anymore, he stood up smirking down at me. "let's go, don't want to be late." Draco said as he walked backwards holding out his arms. I smiled and followed him to the gate, luckily enough it was only us.
"Name please" the teacher asked looking at the script with all our names on "Draco Malfoy" Draco said. The teacher used his finger to scroll down the page "and you, miss?" he looked up at me and my heart skipped a beat. "oh uh, Catalina Riddle" he looked at me for a bit knowing full well who I was, but didn't say anything. The teacher forced a smile and let us through, I sighed in relief hoping I didn't have to do that for a while.
We arrived at the place where the carriages were but exept there was no carriages "ah, sorry you couldn't catch a carriage in time" I said putting my hands behind my back. "no, no it's fine. I usually walk anyways" he smiled at me, I smiled back and started to walk "don't wanna be late now do we" I repeated what he said earlier, it felt nice to say that.
Finally, we reached the school, luckily enough we got there just as they were entering the hall, Draco went to the slitherin table but I had to get sorted with the first years despite being a 'transfer' to hogwarts. "quiet!" Dumbldore shouted, everyone fell silent. I looked around the room to see people staring at me, but also to see familiar faces, Harry, Ron and hermione they were smiling and waving so I did 5he same, I looked over to my right to see Draco staring at me, I quickly looked away and back at Dumbldore "we shall begin the sortings. However, we have a transfer student, Catalina if you would" he put his hand out to the chair. I walked passed the first years feeling their gazes pin on me, I squeezed passed them uncomfortably finally reaching the chair. The teacher hadn't even placed the hat on my head yet and the Sorting hat had already made its decision "Slitherin!" the hat shouted, everyone looked at me and whispered to one another but the Slytherin table stood up cheering and clapping, I smiled brightly when I saw Draco clapping with a huge smile on his face.
I made my way to the fifth years seats on the slytherin table, I looked around me to see a familiar girl looking my way, she looked away immediately after I looked at her. I didn't think anything of it but I couldn't see who it was, they turned as soon as I looked so I wasn't able to catch their face. I sighed looking down at my green apple playing around with it. Everyone started to stand up, I looked up seeing two people that seemed to be older than me from our house standing near dumblore along with two other people from each house, the two from griffindor stepped forwards.
"hello first years" one of them smiled. "my name is tiana, and this is petra. We are griffindors prefects, if you are confused into why the sorting hat put you into griffindor then allow Petra to explain", Petra stepped forwards "Gryffindors are known for their nerve, chivalry, daring, courage, bravery and determination. A Gryffindor values courage, bravery, nerve, and chivalry, the house of the brave, loyal, courageous, adventurous, daring, and chivalrous. Those who stand up for others are typically Gryffindors. Brave-hearted is the most well-known Gryffindor characteristic, and Gryffindors are also known for having a lot of nerve."
Then the hufflepuffs prefect stood forwards, for some reason there was only one.
" hello first years and welcome to your first ever hogwarts assembly! Now I will explain Hufflepuffs traits and what makes the sorting hat think you belong here"
"Hufflepuff House is one of the four Houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was founded by Helga Hufflepuff. Hufflepuffs are known for being trustworthy, loyal and hardworking. Students belonging to this house are known to be hard-working, friendly, loyal, honest and rather impartial. ... Hufflepuff is the most inclusive among the four houses; valuing hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play rather than a particular aptitude in its students, I'll let you in on a secret" they giggled, then they started to whisper "The slytherins love hufflepuffs".
Then the Ravenclaw prefect, again only one.
"congratulations on making Ravenclaw!. My name is Ellis Rathenburg, and I am Ravenclaws prefect. Now a Ravenclaw has alot of potential in hogwarts. Ravenclaws possess the traits of cleverness, wisdom, wit, intellectual ability and creativity. According to Slytherin prefects, Ravenclaws are so competitive when it comes to academic success that they are known to back stab each other, and likely other students, in order to get top marks. Also you should know Ravenclaw values intelligence, learning, wisdom and wit. I'll also give you a little secret, just as the Hufflepuff prefect did, us Ravenclaws value our friendship with Gryffindors".
And then finally, the Slytherin prefects.
"hello first years, and of course our transfer student" one of them nodded at me "I am your house prefect, I expect to be treated with respect, now. For those that are unsure of why they were sorted into slytherin, I'll let the other prefect explain" he finished speaking then put his hands behind his back, the other prefect appeared to be a girl, she stood forwards. "Slytherin is one of the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was founded by Salazar Slytherin. Slytherins are known for being cunning and ambitious, although it is also known to have produced many Dark witches and wizards. The traits that get you placed into Slytherin are ambition, resourcefulness, determination, and cleverness" she smiled at the first years, then looked at me "being sorted as a Slytherin means that you are determined, clever, resourceful, and cunning, and also, just because you are a Slytherin does not mean you can't be having Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor traits. It may just be that you are more of a Slytherin. Either way, hope you are happy with your House". Every student clapped for their house prefects. "thank you prefects for your speech, now your prefects shall show you to your common rooms." he coughed a little "Ravenclaw, you may leave first then followed by Hufflepuff, Gryffindor then Slytherin".
