Chapter 9 - I have a wolf; Canary

Balvina knew that she'd been gone for hours because she could no longer see the light peeking into the air hole in the pile of huge stones where she was hiding. She was still terribly hurting from the inside and out. Her fully healed flawless skin was now filled with hundreds of cuts when she carelessly ran in the middle of a virgin thick bush. She only stopped running when her way was blocked by vast waters. Aside from her outer wounds, Bal could also feel the pain in her eyes due to excessive crying. She was acting like a lost soul again curled up in the middle of cold nowhere. And just like that, she gave up her first love battle not even trying to fight for it. Because she doesn't know and understands about it yet.

"Ka-Kay-lon . . . Ka-Kaylon . . ." She murmured while bottomless tears constantly flowed through her eyes.

Her feet were cold and her deeper wound was still bleeding. Her mind was in chaos and it was making her feel terrible.

'Come on, girl! Why are you acting like that? We didn't fight for our precious life under that hellish place just to end up like this!' Bal hurriedly got up and took a piece of stone and a stick to defend herself. She couldn't help but groan, feeling the paint pinching all over her.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" She demanded while acting brave despite her shaking hand. "I have endured every pain in my life! I suffered enough! I won't hesitate to kill you if you try to attack me! Let's fight until our last breath!" She was now desperate and hurt. Her sanity has been messed up that dying is no longer a big deal for her.

'That's the spirit, Balvina. You are right. You suffered enough.' She could clearly hear the voice again but couldn't see anyone in the tight little place where she was hiding. She keeps turning around trying to figure out everything that she could see now that her surroundings are getting darker.

'I'm in your head, you pity Betty!' For a moment, she was at a loss. And then the feeling of familiarity and comfort suddenly surged in her heart.

"M-my wolf?"

'Bingo!'

"I have a wolf now? You're my wolf?'

'I just said, bingo.' The voice uttered in a nonchalant manner. But Balvina's eye socket almost puffed out when she noticed that she was no longer stammering.

"I . . . I have a wolf! And I'm no longer stuttering!" She exclaimed and started to jump.

"Awww!"

'You better get out in this little cave because it's dirty and I'm suffocating.'

So without a word, Balvina got out of the little high cave and was greeted with the breezing coldness of the night. So she slowly sat on the stone and began rubbing her hands together.

"Ho-how did you come out? I mean when?" She was feeling ecstatic but still confused. Her wolf should have come out fifteen years ago. That is why when she and Monta talked about it, she told her that she is naturally wolfless.

'You are not the only one who felt the urge to die and kill seeing your mate flirting with another wolf bitchy girl! The pain triggered me to wake up and kick your stupid pity butt.'

"I'm sorry . . ."

'Canary. My name is Canary. So do not wonder why you possess such outstanding ability when it comes to sensitivity.' Bal nodded her head in acknowledgment.

"Thank you for always saving me, Canary. I know that I will never survive on my own. Now it's confirmed. And it's you. You are with me all along."

'I'm shedding tears now. So let's get going. It's getting colder and you're getting paler.' Canary was acting like she didn't care. But deep inside, Canary love's her beyond measure.

"But where? Where should we go?"

'Hello, Balvina . . . You are a queen and a Luna of this huge island. Why are you talking nonsense?'

"But . . . Kaylon. He . . . He likes another girl. And I do—"

'Excuse me? Kaylon is our mate. And no matter what, we are connected by a mate bond. And I'm crazy about his unique wolf. So go and get our Kaylon before it's too late.' Balvina shrugged but still started walking in a stiff manner. It was like her joint was being hardly connected and couldn't move freely.

'Listen to me, Bal. You have your possession now. So take good care of it. Have a grip on yourself. Now that you have Kaylon, Monta, and your men who cherished you, no one can stop you from having them as your family. The feeling of warmth just by being with them is priceless. As for me, I will do anything to keep them in my grasp. You are likable and lovable, Bal. So it's not gonna be hard for Kaylon's people to love you.'

"Thank you so much for clearing my mind, Canary. You are right, they are our family now. And Kaylon belongs to us. He is my treasure, our treasure."

"Yeah. You should be thankful that you have a badass wolf." Bal was starting to increase her speed in walking when she sensed something.

'It's him . . .'

"They are here. Kaylon is here!"

'I told you. Our bond with him is not just in urgency, but also in heart.' Her cheek quickly turned red when she heard the word urge. They haven't done it yet. And she was wondering why. Sometimes it crossed her mind that Kaylon didn't find her attractive or beautiful.

'What are you doing?' Bal was about to run in Kaylon's direction when she was stopped by Canary.

"I'll meet Kaylon and Monta. I can smell their worried and mad scent."

'Okay. But slowly. Don't let them notice you.'

"But how? We are not the only wolf here. They are wolves too."

'We have the ability to hide our presence and scent. So handy and cool, right?' Canary said proudly.

As they were speeding their movement heading to where Kaylon and his men are looking for her, Bal can now clearly hear Kaylon's voice.

"Balvina! Please. Bal!"

"Look what you've done, brother! You should have thought about her feelings. I could still see her horrified jealous face in my mind. You badly hurt her feelings!" Monta blurted. Her face were both mad and undeniably worried.

"That wasn't my intention okay? It just happened. Amonette came running to me. What do you expect me to do? Pushed her away? She's already like a sister to me."

"I. Saw. You. Embracing. Amonette! In a different manner. And I don't see it as unintentional. Is it because she looks exactly like our late luna?" Monta covered her mouth, feeling awful about the last words that she accidentally said.

"Stop it, Monta! Please . . . Do not add fuel to the fire. And as I've said, that wasn't my intention. And please, do not bring that topic again."

"I'm sorry, Alpha. I'm just worried. It's been hours. It's already night.  And Luna Bal is not familiar with this forest. And my tracking ability is not fuck'n working which I don't fuk'n know why! Oh, Moon Goddess, do not forsake my Luna."

"We're all restless and worried. Let's just keep moving. I know that she's near."

'Let's show ourselves now, Bal. I can't bear to see Monta crying. She's a badass precious to us. It doesn't feel good seeing her cry.'

"Yeah. It's awful." So Balvina started looking for a spot where she could sit and wait for Kaylon to find her.

"I can feel her . . . I can sense her now! Bal! Love!" Kaylon exclaimed as he ran to where Balvina was dramatically sitting on a piece of stone while crying.

'Don't tell them you have a wolf now. Okay? It's our pretty little secret. Wake me up before you dodo . . .'

"Canary!"

'Joke. I'll go hibernate now. Chus. I'll just keep myself hidden into your nearly shuttered soul.' Bal couldn't help but massage her temple trying to ignore Canary's silly words. And when she looked at her hands and feet, there she realized that she doesn't have to be dramatic. Because she already looks terrible in her tattered dress, full of cut in the skin and absolutely dirty feet. No drama. But seeing herself looking like this again. She couldn't help but cry. It was like she was seeing her old self again.
