Lynx got up from her seat. She was still waiting for her date to arrive.
"Ma'am, may I help you."
Lynx laughed nervously, "just waiting for my date."
"Your date?" A familiar voice laughed.
"Oh great." Lynx said to herself
It was Louis Barton. The guy who had been following Lynx since they were five. He was a buff, idiotic showoff that loved to take Lynx away to his room whenever she went over to see his sister Gia Barton.
"Hi Louis." Lynx groaned.
"Hi Alexsis." Louis giggled stupidly.
Lynx grabbed a napkin from the table and slapped Louis with it.
"Nice to see you to." Louis laughed.
Lynx grabbed her mechanical pencil and pressed the top.
A brown staff replaced the pencil.
"Back off." Just as Lynx was about to strike, an arrow flew out of nowhere and knocked the staff away from Lynx's hand.
Lynx looked over to find Michel. A tall black boy who was one of the best archers I've ever seen, apart from Flora of course.
"Calm down Lynx," Michel laughed. "he's harmless."
"Harmless?" Lynx asked. "He tried to get me to go upstairs with him!"
"Yeah, I know." Michel said grabbing another arrow and fired it at Louis.
Louis dodged it and the arrow hit one of the buns that the waiter had left them.
"Fine, I'll leave then." Louis stomped off.
Lynx laughed nervously.
Michel sat down on the chair across from her. "How have you been."
"Well, Alex was banished." Lynx giggled awkwardly "But, you obviously knew that so...."
Michel shifted in his seat awkwardly.
Lynx thought to herself. Ok, he's freaking out a bit, I can do this.
Michel started to look up into space and whistle.
"So, how have you been." Lynx realized that she had repeated herself and quickly took back her words. "I mean, I've been fine."
Michel gave her a look that said What the heck is going on with you right now?
Lynx looked over Michel's shoulder. "Alex!"
There I was, sitting on another table with Chase and Conner.
"Hey Sis." I replied.
Chase waved at her.
Lynx gave Chase a dirty look. "Don't even think about it."
Chase put his hand down and looked towards Conner who shrugged.
Michel got up and bowed tome. "I will defend you and your family from the forces of evil."
I looked at him and patted him on the head. "Ok then?" I looked over at Lynx who just giggled.
"Does she like Michel?" Chase asked. What he was saying was "Please tell me that she doesn't like Michel, or I'll kill him.
Now what I should've said was "No, she doesn't." what is did say was (and I said this in a tone that sounded like I was lying) "Um, no."
Chase turned to Michel and was about to turn him into a bonfire when Conner stepped in.
"Can you talk some sense into him?" I asked Conner. Then I realized that he didn't speak. I felt so stupid. "I mean, can you do your hand movements and tell him that he's an idiotic little wannabe romance novel?"
Conner raised an eyebrow.
"Just tell him to stop!" I yelled.
Conner nodded and stepped in front of Chase. Then Conner made his hand gestures.
Chase gave me dirty look and tackled me to the floor.
All the Mortals in the room turned their heads.
Lynx began to panic, and basically what happens when she panics is, she creates a giant sonic wave that pops everyone's eardrums.
I couldn't let that happen, so I flipped Chase over and asked Michel to keep an eye on him.
Michel nodded and drew back his bow.
The room went silent.
I looked at an old guy who had a golden eye patch who put a thumbs up at me. Oh great, Odin's here.
My Grandfather was wise and all, but over the past few years, I always thought that he was going senile. He dragged me and my sister outside.
"When I said to you two that I wanted both of you to go look for the manuscript I didn't mean to start a riot in your local restaurant."
"Sorry Grandpa." I said.
"Now, I've rounded up the remaining people on the list, so you don't have to find them and the D.E.I has already found the Manuscript, so you better get going."
The D.E.I was the Demigod Elimination Institution. They were practically the F.B.I but better trained, they were going to be a challenge.
I called the team out and said. "Get ready men, we're going to war."
