"It'll take some time before the gear is ready, why don't I put the two of you up at my estate?" Mr. Takamichi suggested. "We have a lot of extra room."
"Oh that's fine", Doza replied, before quickly denying his offer
"Nonsenses grab your belongings and bring them to the house behind the forge.
My estate is way better than any inn that could house you in this town."
Doza looks at Kenos messing around with Basaul, "Who am I to decline such a generous offer?" said Doza "I graciously accept."
"That's the spirit boy I'll tell my wife to make us a stupendous dinner." Doza pans over to Basual showing the mind blown Kenos a number of contraptions and weapons. "I'll be back, Ken", he shouts. Doza walks to where he and Kenos stashed their horse and wagon. Mr. Takamichi catches up to Doza on his way back and the two begin to converse.
"I can tell you care a great amount for your brother, said the old man Yadren Takamichi. Doza chuckles, "oh really how so."
The old man chuckles, " your demeanor changes whenever you look to him. And the intensity of your training with. I would assume you have big expectations of the kid.
Doza smirks, "Of course I do he is my kin."
Mr. Takamichi looks to Doza, "speaking as another person who desires the best for their family. Remember to allow him to grow on his own."
Doza lets out a deep sigh, "You're probably right old man", he laughs. "The two of us have been on the road for a while now. Almost forget he's a kid how serious he gets sometimes. Seeing him with Basaul makes me feel better. Like this world hasn't ruined him yet, like I haven't ruined him yet."
The two return to see Basaul and Kenos causing a ruckus in the garden. "Is it okay they use your creations like that", asked Doza?
Mr. Takamichi laughs, "it's fine, Basaul himself is exceptionally well at caring for armor and weapons. Even if one was to break he could have it fixed before I even notice. He's been wrecking my shop since he could walk"
Just then Kenos notices that Doza is back. "Check me out Doze", Said Kenos flaunting a sword twice his size. Basaul strapping a dummy in armor puts his thumb up. "Go for it Kenos", he yells. Kenos slowly motion's the blade forward with all his might.
"Woahhhh", Yelled Kenos losing his balance, tossing the huge blade into the dummy by accident.
"My bad", Kenos shouted as he quickly got up. Basaul begins dying of laughter grabbing the sword out of the dummy.
Mr. Takamichi laughs, next time try something a little more in your weight class."
Doza chimes in and asks, "how bout we get some sparring in before dinner."
Kenos look's at Doza, "I thought you'd never ask."
Mr. Takamichi calls Basaul over to him, "watch and observe my son", said Mr. Takamichi.
"Although I haven't seen Kenos fight himself if he's anything like his brother, They are true warriors. I can sense it the way they attack with no malice, only using their own drives and a sense of duty.
Doza looks at the ready Kenos. "Now's the time to show me some growth from your meditative training." Kenos points to the setting sky dropping his finger in the direction of Doza, "this time I'll be the winner he smiles." "Maybe if I wasn't your opponent" Doza laughs. "You can save those sly comebacks for when I kick your ass", said Kenos, charging in keeping his face forward to draw in an attack from Doza. Doza bites and swings for Kenoses' jaw. Kenos quickly draws his head back to avoid the hit while simultaneously throwing his own punch to which Doza blocks. The two then exchange some punches and kicks before backing off. "Not bad", said Doza, wiping his sweat, "but that's not good enough", he yells charging back into Kenos. Starting with a spin kick Doza throws several swipes and jabs with his legs. Kenos manages to avoid them all by jumping off Doza's leg on the last kick and using his momentum to launch into the air.
Kenos rolls forward in the air preparing his rolling heel kick. Doza chuckles, "like that would work again." Doza raises his arm above his head and blocks the falling kick. Quickly grabbing Kenoses' ankle and tossing him across the floor. Kenos collects himself from the ground. "My next move", said Kenos in a low voice in between his breaths, "is all it'll take."
Kenos begins taking in an absurd amount of zen, to the point where the wind moved around him. Kenos leans forward exploding towards Doza, appearing in front of him before quickly vanishing again. "A feint", thought Doza, but where is he? Waves of electricity begin pulsing off Doza's body through the stone floor, as he attempts to locate Kenos. However, it's already too late, coming from his blind spot Kenos launches towards Doza cutting through the air. Readying himself Kenoses' right leg lands a direct hit on the back of Doza's abdomen.
Doza smiles as he quickly turns around and grabs Kenos leg slamming him directly on his back.
"Shit, ouch. That was cheap,'' said Kenos gasping on the floor, Doza chuckles," never expect a fair fight.
Kenos lay staring at the sky too tired to even get up.
Mr. Takamichi and Basaul walk up to the two. "You guys are amazing", Basaul shouts jumping up and down.
"Calm down let them breathe", said Mr. Takamichi, "You two put on an exemplary display of combat. I was pleased to watch you two spar. Please join us in the dining hall when you've gotten yourselves situated."
"Woah," said Kenos admiring the room, "Haven't been in a bathhouse like this since Xiomara." Kenos begins to get a sad look on his face, remembering the clan estate hidden next to the Luxurious Kingdom. Doza throws a bucket of water on Kenos snapping him out of it. "You just can't wash away ugly", Doza laughs. Kenos wipes the water off his face, "you would know huh". He then picks up his bucket and quickly fills it with water. "Take that", he shouts while drenching Doza. "Ohhh it's on", shouted Doza. Kenos and Doza smile at each other as they start running around having their water fight.
Doza looks up from his puddle of water, noticing the mess they've made, he speaks up.
"I think that's enough of that Ken". The two of them walk to their chambers and put on some comfortable clothes.
*Knock knock*
They hear from the door. Doza opens it to see a young lady, one of Mr. Takamichis's servants.
"Dinner is prepared and will be served in 5 minutes", she relayed.
"Thank you, will be there shortly", replied Doza. "I'll try not to keep you waiting too long," the servant giggles and leaves the room.
Kenos and Doza walk through the estate into the dining hall. Walking up to the table they greeted the head of the house Mr. Takamichi and his wife. Kenos grabs a seat next to Basual and Doza sits across. "Itadakimasu"(let's eat), said Mr. Takamichi
As his servants began bringing in a banquet of food. "We can eat all of this, '' questioned Kenos, his mouth barely able to contain his saliva.
"Haha, eat to your hearts contempt my boy", replied Mr. Takamichi. Kenos begins stuffing his face only coming up to breathe. Doza casually eats his fill, joining in on the witty banter going on in front of him. "That boy can sure eat", Ms. Takamichi commented. Mr. Takamichi lets out a loud belch, "another" He laughs. Motioning for his servants to refill his mug. Kenos finally looks up from his plate, "The food in this town is sooo good." "You can thank Ms. Takamichi for tonight's dinner, said Mr. Takamichi. "It's nothing'', answered Mrs. Takamichi. "I love to cook."
"Yup, exactly how she stole my heart'', laughed Mr. Takamichi. "She kept swaying me meal after meal whenever I came home from the battlefields. Doza", Mr. Takamichi called, "you're a capable young man. You must be beating women back with a stick.''
Doza blushes, "during my adventures I've come across a couple of faces. Both Doza and Mr. Takamichi take another swig of their liquor.''
"Old man'', said Doza, switching to a serious face, "did you think we wouldn't notice.'' Kenos stares in confusion.
"Bwahaha, You're sharper than I took you for'', said Mr. Takamichi. "I could tell you were also suppressing a lot of power while you were sparring earlier.''
Kenos winces at the sound of that. "Doza's been suppressing power the whole time. Just how strong is he?" Doza cracks a smile, "answer me this old man if you have all that power hidden why didn't you handle those thugs yourself.''
