"Them? Who's them?" I asked.
My mom's face quickly changed back to normal and she gave me a soft smile, "Don't worry you'll learn soon enough. For now, go wash up and let's eat some breakfast." My mom pulled the IV Drip out of my arm and disinfected it so I could go. It also seemed like I was only asleep for that night, not too long.
My mind was in shambles, I didn't know what to think or what to believe, it all seemed too surreal.
I finished washing up and went to eat some breakfast. There was my favorite bacon with egg, buttered toast, and tea with honey. I was starving so I hurried to the table to start eating. Soon my mom and brother joined as well.
The breakfast table was silent as we were all quietly enjoying our food. My mom was carrying some mail in her hands and was flipping through them when she excitedly exclaimed, "Oh! They've finally replied." She had a grin on her face.
"Who replied?" I asked with a mouth full of food.
"Guardians' Eagle Academy of course!" My eyes went wide. "You mean that super prestigious private school Leo goes to?"
"Yup!" My brother then also had a huge grin on his face.
"Why would that school send us mail though? Wait, you said they replied which means you mailed them first! Why would you do that?"
"For you of course!" Both my mom and brother replied at the same time.
"Why for me?! Oh no, no, no! No way am I going to that school. I heard that they are supper rigorous, and the students never stop studying! Just look at Leo! He is always cooped up in his room studying unless eating or using the restroom!"
"She's right you know." My brother cut in. "But you're also wrong Rora." My brother couldn't stop smiling. "Sure, I may always be studying, but it's not what you expect. Want me to show you?" I gave a small nod.
Next thing I know, my brother put his hands together, then cupped open his palms facing up, and the next thing that happened just blew my mind. Something in the back of my mind knew this was going to happen but I just could not believe it once it did. A blue light suddenly burst out of his palms. It glowed up the entire dining table and was one of the most beautiful things I have seen in my life. With the light came beautiful glowing blue butterflies, suddenly they changed to red, then to green, then to gold, white, pink, and the colors never ended! I was speechless.
"Wow." I barely managed a whisper. I didn't know how to react.
"Illusion magic. I knew you were going to like it." My mom and brother were looking at me expectantly.
"So, what do you think now?" My mom asked me.
I was silent for a few seconds before shouting, "HELL YEAH! How could I say no after seeing that! MAGIC MOM MAGIC! I'm going to magic school!" This was the happiest day of my life, but unbeknownst to me, behind that wondrous light of magic in my brother's palms, a tiny little smirk started forming on his face.
