I ran quickly, but unknown to me I looked different.
"Oh MeMei!" I yelled out.
She flipped around. She was making herself a snack in the kitchen.
Her eyes grew wide when she looked at me.
"I've started bleeding!" I called out.
She shook her head and walked quickly forward.
"You are 12 so this is normal. Come on, I'll get you set up." She took me outside to the bathrooms. She bent down and opened a small box. Inside was thick cloth cut into strips.
"I got these brought back for me but I will call for more. These will be yours. You just use one every 4 hours. Then interchange it with another. If it's heavy, then just use two. After a use stick them in boiling water and slowly wash them. Then hang them to dry. After 3 months of use, you can get new ones."
I nodded at her words. She knew more about this world than I did. Hell, I use to use tampons most of the time so this was definitely new.
"But before I leave...Kobe, your chest..."
I raised a brow in confusion until I looked down.
I blinked as I looked down.
Where....were those little boobs? My eyes grew wide as I yanked my dress forward and looked inside my top.
Holy shit! Where the fuck did these little fuckers come from?
"Kobe, that's not all...your face."
"My face?" I walked to a mirror and dropped the box.
I touched my face with my small hand.
This face....it was transforming into my old face. Except for one thing. I touched my cheek where there was once a scar.
"It's fine," I said and pushed Oh MeMei out. I changed my undergarment and put on a strip of cloth.
After that, I just stood and stared into the mirror for a while. Then I thought of the Enhanced Life Skill. Enhanced Life huh?
I smirked as I felt my face.
In my past life, I was beautiful. I'm not just saying that either. My mother was good looking along with my father. When I grew up...it was obvious I got the good looks of both.
There was just one problem that everyone noticed. One large scar mark on my left cheek. People would gasp when they saw it, so I would wear bandaids over it. I used them as a personality quirk by putting on funny ones. Because of this nobody really spoke about them.
Now...I stared for a while as I looked in the mirror. It felt almost weird to see this face without a scar...
Enhanced Life...
It sure did its purpose. I smirked and left the bathroom.
I saw Aden basking in the sun. I smirked evilly and walked up to him.
"Aden!" I yelled.
He opened his eyes and met mine.
They both eyes shot open.
"You...look different." Aden narrowed his eyes as he looked me up and down.
"I'm turning in who I use to be," I said simply.
Aden seemed to go into deep thought.
"Aden, what is it?" I asked as I walked over.
"I hope that doesn't happen to me."
I laughed.
"Why not?" I said through my laughing.
"I was not a very good looking human." He said.
"Now, I'm sure that's not true," I said matter of factly.
"I really wasn't," Aden said quietly.
"Oh, Aden-" He cut me off.
"I was black." He said.
"Black?" I raised my brows.
"Yes."
"Why the fuck does that make a difference?" I was so utterly confused until I remembered how black people were treated. "Wait...Aden...what time period were you on Earth?"
"1870's"
"Oh, Aden. You wouldn't know...but later on slavery is basically outlawed in most places."
"It is? I only heard about Abraham Lincoln and how he was gonna do it."
I laughed.
"Well, I come from the 21st Century and it's gone there in most places, but seriously Aden I don't give a fuck whether you're black. Shit, you could be fucking green and I would still treat you like family." I said with a smile.
"I thank you, Kobe." He said. "I would smile, but I am a snake."
"Pfff." I started laughing heartily.
After laughing with Aden I went to look for Oh MeMei again. Still, I couldn't shake Slavery off my mind. I was sure it existed. That thought in itself, made me feel disgusted.
I sighed.
It was something that happened. I also knew there was no way to change someone who grew up with the knowledge that there was nothing wrong with doing it. Especially if they viewed them as not only property but an investment.
The only real solution I could think of was right. I knew slavery couldn't go away overnight because it was also a custom to these people, but if I was able to give these people rights...but to do that, I would have not only to be in a position of power but of influence and I seriously didn't have any interest in that.
Then I saw Oh MeMei back in the kitchen.
"Hey," I spoke as I knocked on the door frame.
She turned toward me.
"I feel it's time to tell you who I am."
He stopped what she was doing as I sat down in front of her.
"I'm not from this world."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I transmigrated here after I died in my world."
Her eyes got big and then she knitted her brows.
"It's fair to not believe me, but I want to show you," I said as I struck out my hand.
She took my hand and together we entered my memories. I still had no idea how I was able to do this, but there was no way I was going to question it.
We looked at skyscrapers and people of all nationalities together having fun. I showed her some of my most favorite memories. I took her to the sights I saw in China and America. After a while, I opened my eyes and we were back in the kitchen.
