My mind was fuzzy and then the adrenaline hit. I opened my eyes and sat up. My heartbeat wildly in my chest. It was so dark. I couldn't see a thing in front of me. Then I noticed the smell.
Oh god. I gagged as I covered my mouth.
It smelled of fecal matter and decay. I was about to move when I touched something cold. I retracted my hand. My mind flowed to the time I was at my Grandmother's funeral and I touched her hand. That- I wanted to back away quickly but then I touched something behind me.
I heard grunting. I almost screamed as I wrapped my arms around my body. Where was I?
The only thing I remember before was being in a museum. I was on a college field trip and some maniac came in with a gun. I then fell back on to some pedestal.
I just put my head in my arms and thought. Then I realized something. I pulled up my hand and touched it to my head.
I could tell my head had been shaved. Why was my head shaved?! I had long hair!
I just sat there in a ball for the night unsure where I was and what was happening. I did fall asleep though after my adrenaline loosened. The next morning I awoke to the sound of yelling.
I looked up to see a door opening and people getting up. I looked over and noticed the dead body. It was an old woman. She already smelled horrid.
Then I noticed beside me was an Emerald pendant. I grabbed it up and stuffed it in my shirt. It wasn't a good shirt but as long as I stuffed my shirt in my pants it held the Emerald pendant.
I then stood and made my way out with the rest of them. I had also noticed last night I was also no 24-year-old woman. I had no boobs. Was I even still me?
Then the light settled and I noticed everyone around me. All these men wore masks and held swords at their hip. This though wasn't the most shocking part. They had on Ancient Chinese clothing.
Chinese? I was studying abroad in China. I'm was originally from the United States.
I just kept forward as I processed this information. I then turned my head and saw some horses grazing. I rode horses when I was younger on my grandfather's farm. If I could get ahold of one of those....
I turned my head again and noticed the look on everyone's faces. It was a look of dread.
Then I noticed what was in front of me.
"We only have enough food for a few of you. Come and grab." Then I noticed a sneer on the man's face.
Oh no...this was talked about by one of my professors. When you got people who were hungry and fearful. You were bound to have people with no reason. I was on the outside so as everyone was starting to rush, I jumped to the side.
That was when I saw one of the deadliest blood baths I had ever seen over rotten potatoes.
The men screamed at them. Some were even cheering as the skin was ripped by nails and hair was pulled out. I turned away and noticed no one was by the horses.
Before anyone could notice I used my little body to slip under a table and I walked up to the horse. This horse was brown and nice. I grabbed its reigns and slowly lead him away. Enticing him with some hay.
After we got away a little bit, I got on his back with much struggle for this small body and started on a road to anywhere.
I was sure something crazy was going on. Especially because of my body. I was definitely not 23 anymore. I was more like 11.
I looked at the sky above me as I rode the horse and noticed something a little strange too. There was something flying up there. Expect whatever it was, was really big.
I watched it as it flew down and noticed it's red wings that shinned in the wind.
What was that? Bald Eagles couldn't even get close to the mass of the bird I saw. I watched as the bird flew closer down. It shinned in the sun and I realized the bird was a vibrant red. I looked closer and realized the bird had fire coming off of it, but it seemed to not care as it flew through the sky.
My mouth opened slightly as I watched in awe. What was that? This moment of awe didn't last though. As I heard yelling behind me.
My eyes grew.
I grabbed the reigns of the horse and hit my ankle against the horse. The horse took off. I had him shoot left as I continued to gallop through the forest. I had no idea where I was going but I knew I couldn't stay there. I also looked up and noticed day still had a while to go.
I was also starting to get seriously hungry. I rode the horse for a while as I made my way through the woods. I also stopped hearing yelling so I slowed and started looking for either shelter or easy food. I was in Girl Scouts when I was younger and the teacher taught the girls, that would listen, how to find edible food in the woods. She only taught us common ones so once I was unsure of them, I would just keep going. There were a lot of weird-looking plants though.
Even when I had hiked before I knew saw any of these plants. Though, finally, I did find some grapes. I ate a bunch and kept going.
Around later evening I found a stream with greens growing threw so I stopped and let the horse drink while I drank some as well and so the night went like this. I laid against a rock and the horse stayed by a tree. I had wrapped its reigns on a tree limb.
